Chapter 543: The culprit

"Miss Arizona, what’s the matter? I will find the hairbrush right away," Prakrith immediately started looking for her hairbrush as Arizona went hysterical.

"Are you sure you left it here?" Prakrith asked.

Arizona looked at her, her eyes almost looking maniacal.

"Who came to my room?" Arizona asked before in a split second, she pushed Prakrith into the wall, her hand gripping the witch’s neck in a tight grip.

"You were the one responsible for ensuring the safety of this room, no? Who came here? Huh? Are you one of them? Are you with them? H-how did my hair brush vanish out of the blue? Answer me, damn it!" Arizona looked at the witch straight into her eyes.

Prakrith’s face contorted in pain as she struggled for the witch to let go of her neck.

She gasped for air, flailing her legs in the air helplessly.

"I... I don’t know what you are talking about, Miss Arizona. Please believe me. No witch entered this area. I was here all the time. How can you accuse me of being one of them? I have always been with you," Prakrith struggled to speak every single word.

"Lies. Lies! Everything you are saying is nothing but a big fat lie! How could you not know? I told you to keep a look at my room in my absence, didn’t I?" Arizona slammed Prakrith harder into the icy wall, making the witch cough blood at the intensity.

Kadakali, who wanted to ask Arizona about what her further orders were regarding the training of the white witches, looked at the scene in horror and rushed to them.

"Queen Arizona, what are you doing? She will die at this rate. Look at her pale face," Kadakali shouted to snap Arizona out of her crazy state.

"Please help me, Kadakali. I swear, I didn’t let anyone enter this place. I have no idea what Miss Arizona is talking about," Prakrith groaned, coughing more blood, the splashes of blood falling into Arizona’s hand, making her slam the girl into the wall before she let go of the girl.

Prakrith immediately fell to the ground, coughing violently as she gasped for air.

"Prakrith, are you okay?" Kadakali rushed to the witch, quickly helping her as she rubbed her back, again and again, to ease her coughing fit.

Arizona clenched her fists, unable to control her anger anymore.

This wasn’t good. Her hairbrush was gone. How could this be possible? She made sure no one would enter the room.

"Do you have any idea what you have done? How important are witches’ used materials to them? There is a reason witches always burn their belongings to protect them from getting into the wrong hands. It has my DNA! Because of your negligence...." Arizona shook her head.

This was wrong. This shouldn’t have happened. But what was more important was, how did it happen in the first place? How come she never felt the presence of another witch in the room when she entered?

Could it be possible that Azrael got a hold of her hairbrush without actually coming here or sending any witch? But this was a well-protected area and kingdom.

Arizona ruffled her hair angrily.

"Who could be behind this, Queen Arizona?" Kadakali asked, and Arizona turned around, glaring at them.

"Who else could it be? It’s definitely that b*tch Azrael!" Arizona shouted, clenching her teeth.

This wasn’t good. There were infinite things that could be done by Azrael to harm her. What if she comes for King Eros to threaten Elliana? After all, Azrael didn’t need her anymore now that she knew everything about Elliana.

Arizona shook her head.

She will have to do something soon. There has to be a way to destroy the thing before Azrael can perform any kind of magic on that and steal her powers or whatever it was.

Arizona felt like losing her mind and vanished into thin air, leaving both the witches stupefied.

"Are you okay?" Kadakali asked Prakrith, and the latter nodded with a pale face before taking a deep breath.

"Thanks for coming and saving my life. I don’t know if I have stayed alive if -" Prakrith coughed again.

"Hey, don’t think about that. She wouldn’t have killed you. You are one of us, one of the top tier witches and -"

"You and I both know I am right. Arizona was really out of her mind just now," Prakrith closed her eyes, taking deep breaths.

"Do you need any help from me? Should I take you to your place?" Kadakali asked out of genuine concern.

Prakrith looked at her trembling hands and nodded, her eyes brimming with tears.

"I can’t believe she was ready to kill me for something which isn’t even my fault. After everything I did for her, after all those things I bear and all the sins I committed for her, she was going to repay me with this?" Prakrith whimpered, breaking into hysterics of sobs.

Kadakali, who felt bad for the woman, immediately placed her hand on the woman’s back.

"Hey, don’t think about it. Let’s go," Kadakali used her magic once they were out of the queen’s chambers since teleportation wasn’t allowed there.

Once they reached Prakrith’s house, Kadakali helped her on the bed, caressing her head softly.

"Honestly speaking, what did you really expect? I don’t know if Queen Arizona has always been like this, but she changed drastically after the truth was revealed. Everyone left for their work and handled their area of expertise because they didn’t want to be around the negativity that she had started to ooze. You were the only one who stayed," Kadakali sighed.

Prakrith sniffed before turning to her side, facing away from Kadakali, making the latter shake her head.

She could see that Prakrith was shaken from the incident, and honestly, who wouldn’t? She dedicated her entire life to being close to Queen Arizona because she swore her friendship to her.

She even started doing illegal immoral things just to let Arizona know that she always had her back, but the first person Arizona suspected was her? Even after everything?

Anyone was bound to be heartbroken.

"I can see that you probably want to stay alone right now. I am leaving. Take proper rest. And don’t worry about Arizona. She is just feeling crazy because this thing is really severe. She will come around once she has found a solution," Kadakali said and Prakrith hummed vaguely.

When Prakrith didn’t add anything else, Kadakali left, leaving Prakrith along with her thoughts.

As soon as Prakrith noticed Kadakali’s absence, she sat straight in her place and sighed, wiping the cut on her lips, making it heal immediately.

A soft smile appeared on her lips as soon as she remembered what happened, all her sadness gone in a second.

Prakrith wasn’t lying to Arizona. She didn’t allow any witch to come inside the chamber to steal her things. Rather, she took her hairbrush and gave it to one person she found deserving.

Prakrith clicked her fingers, teleporting herself to one place where she knew she would be able to find the witch she helped.

"So she found out?" She immediately heard as soon as she appeared in the forest.

"She is your elder sister. What did you expect? Not to mention, those who know they are in the wrong are especially careful about these things," Prakrith said, looking at her feet.

She didn’t want to betray Arizona like this, but after seeing to what extent that woman was going, she couldn’t control it anymore.

Prakrith stayed quiet for so many years. She thought it was all for love, but these days Arizona was starting to act like she would even harm King Eros if it meant keeping him with her.

At first, she was under the impression that she must’ve kept King Eros in a safe place where he was living peacefully. There was no doubt it must’ve been hard for him. However, when she went to see the magical realism he was staying in and what condition he was in, she couldn’t help but feel worse than ever.

She considered herself to be a culprit in this crime, no, it was a sin that Arizona committed.

"I am sorry. I should’ve come to you sooner. But the species difference always stopped me from doing that. I didn’t even know how to contact or help you. Yesterday, Azrael’s witch also came to steal something that belonged to Arizona, but I saved it right in time. That’s when I thought of this idea," Prakrith said, looking at the dark witch queen standing in front of her.

Azura smiled.

"It’s okay. You came to help us. That’s what matters in the end. Don’t blame yourself anymore. Elliana wouldn’t blame you either. She is forgiving just like that. We will definitely use this hairbrush effectively," Azura whispered, looking at Nathaniel, who had already placed the hairbrush in the middle of the prism to retain its energy.

"You should do it sooner. If you want to steal her Magna or energy, do it soon. She nearly lost her mind when she found out the hairbrush was missing. She even tried to kill me, thanks to Kadakali who saved me at the right time. She disappeared after that. I am sure she has gone to find a solution. I won’t stay here for long. She might find out about it," Prakrith warned before leaving.

Azura looked at Nathaniel and nodded at him.

"Are you ready?"

Nathaniel looked at the witch queen and nodded.

"Let’s do it," He said.
