Chapter 536: An illusion of power
"I am sorry," Elliana said, and Sebastian sighed before picking her in his arms and making her sit on the bed. He sat on his foot in front of her, placing his head in her lap.
"You have no idea, Princess. No idea how much I love you. I am sorry for reacting like that. I just... the thought of you-" Sebastian didn’t complete his sentence when he felt something.
He stood from his place, looking around, his gaze landing on the window, as a weird sensation engulfed his body.
Someone was watching them.
"Let’s go," Sebastian said, confusing Elliana with his behavior change.
"What do you mean?" Elliana asked, unsure.
She clearly felt no witch’s presence around her. So why would Mr. Marino behave like this?
"It’s not safe," Sebastian said before he immediately opened his mind link.
’Lucas, go check the forest area right in front of the Princess’ room. I felt like someone was trying to watch us. It’s not a witch or the princess would’ve felt that too. Most probably a vampire or can be a human rogue too. Quickly,’ Sebastian said, and Elliana, who also heard what he said to his subordinate because of the loose mental barrier and him holding her hand, stood from her place.
"Why worry Lucas over such a small matter when I can get him for you?" Elliana said.
Sebastian looked at his wife. There was no way she was reading his mind too, right?
"Did I not tell you that I am not just a regular witch? I am a haven too?" Elliana said before she clicked her hands.
Meanwhile, in the forest, the man who saw the royal black skull guards walking towards the forest and felt they were suspicious of someone being there, immediately started running backward to hide from them.
He quickly dialed the number of the man who hired him.
On the third ring, the man picked up the call and sighed.
He talked hurriedly while running into the forest, panting heavily.
"Is the work done? What’s the update?"
"H-hello, yes, it’s me. The King is with the princess. I don’t think you would be able to get your hands on her. The security is tight and -"
"She is untouchable," a voice resounded before the princess he was told to stalk appeared right in front of her.
The man gasped, his eyes wide as he looked at the girl and the man beside her before gulping.
"I... I-" The man stuttered.
Elliana raised her hand and the phone immediately appeared in her hand.
"Who are you and why are you behind me? Is it because I killed Prince Harrison?" Elliana asked, her gaze shifting to Sebastian, who looked at her, making her look away.
"You b*tch! I knew you were the one behind his-"
"I am sure no one knew that Prince Harrison was gay. Or was it the fact that his family knew but hid the fact to save themselves some face? What would it look like if I released some records and information regarding you and him? Let the dead man sleep in peace?" Elliana asked, her expression only promising evil.
Sebastian didn’t say anything, he kept looking at his woman. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. He was sure he wasn’t a masochist either, but why was she talking to that man like this, turning him on and making him feel hotter with each passing second?
It wasn’t helping that his fingers were feeling the softness of her womanhood just a few minutes ago and she flirted with him like that.
The man on the other side gritted his teeth.
"You are Satan’s spawn. Stay smug for as long as you want because when I will get my hands on you, you will see what real hell is. I will send you to where your ancestors live and you-"
Sebastian took the phone from his woman’s hand and pulled her close, placing the phone near his ear.
"Are you sure about that? How about you try to run because, in the next five minutes, my team will be there and pull you out of your rat hole? Do you think you would be able to take it?" Sebastian asked, and the man chuckled.
"Capture me, kill me, King Sebastian. What are you going to do about the snake that is roaming around you, living in your own palace? I am sure you also realized by now that this rogue attack was a bit too perfectly planned, and if your bitch wife hadn’t helped you, things would’ve gotten a bit out of control and many would be gotten hurt, no?" The man said.
Elliana immediately remembered that Leila also mentioned something about one of the Princes being involved with the witches to destroy Mr. Marino and the vampire kingdom.
Elliana looked at Mr. Marino, but to her surprise rather than seeing any surprise, she was only faced with his neutral expression.
Did he know about it too?
"Drop your weapons!"
"Hands up!"
"Don’t move or we will kill you!"
The sound of guards resounded from the other side, and Sebastian sighed.
He had already spread the entire royal army and black skull spies all over the kingdom and nearby cities to capture the culprit.
He didn’t know if this man was really this foolish to send someone to spy on his princess even when everyone in the entire Kingdom knew by now what this woman meant to the monster of the vampire world.
"The team will handle it," Sebastian said to his woman, who nodded at him.
"Don’t you think being a witch is so convenient?" Elliana smiled, blinking her eyes at him, clearly waiting for a compliment.
Sebastian hummed before smiling, looking at Jason and others who reached them and held the man who was spying on them.
"Sir! I didn’t do anything. I was paid for this job. Sir, please, spare me!" The man shouted for help.
"Spare him," Elliana whispered.
Sebastian kept looking into her eyes for a few seconds before he hummed.
"Let him go," Sebastian whispered, and his people looked at him surprised.
However, seeing their prince had no intention of changing his statement, they let the man go, who praised the princess a thousand times before running away.
"Let’s go. I have to go back to the University to attend the rest of my lectures," Elliana said.
"You want to go to University?" Sebastian asked, suspicious.
From what he heard, wasn’t she planning on going to the witch University to battle the teachers and find out more about her powers? Was she planning something else now?
"Yes. Nathaniel already informed the Witch University about the battle challenge I sent them. It will be held tomorrow. That’s why I want to go to this University so I can use this time to study. If I stayed alone or idle, my mind would keep thinking about things restlessly, and I don’t want that," Elliana whispered.
Sebastian understood where the girl was coming from and nodded.
"If that’s the case, let’s go. I will drop you off at the University before going to the office," Sebastian said, and Elliana nodded at him.
Sebastian looked at his men and nodded at them.
The Indication was clear. Find the man that they let go for further interrogation. Since his Princess asked him to leave that man, it was obvious Sebastian wouldn’t kill him, but it didn’t mean he wouldn’t extract every kind of information from him.
Meanwhile, in the Himalayan mountains, Arizona sat in front of her mirror, looking at her reflection with a soft smile on her face.
Prakrith walked to her, her brows raised when she saw Arizona smiling to herself.
"Did something good happen?" She asked, snapping Arizona out of her thoughts.
Arizona looked at her subordinate witch in the reflection and hummed.
"Everything is going according to my plan," Arizona said.
"Your plan?" Prakrith asked.
"Hmm... I am coming back from my magical realism and guess what I noticed? Just like I had guessed Leila indeed took Elliana there to get her in control. Though she failed, she helped me indirectly," Arizona raised her hand, and a crystal ball appeared out of the blue.
"This little girl Elliana is powerful, no doubt. She is probably more powerful than me, but I have something that she doesn’t. And it’s years of experience. She acted smartly and dropped her tears and blood in the magical realism to probably catch Eros’s attention and mark her territory so she would be able to come to the realism next time. Stupid girl. What she doesn’t know is that she has given me a way to track her whereabouts all the time," Arizona smiled.
Prakrith didn’t understand what her boss was saying.
"What do you mean by that? Weren’t you able to track Elliana from the beginning? You are one woman who had the best knowledge about her from the beginning," Prakrith said.
Arizona smiled.
"Of course, I could. However, after breaking the locket, things became difficult for me. But now I am back on track. Moreover, I am sure that witch Leila spilled the beans about this machine I created as an illusion," Arizona smiled.
"Illusion?" Prakrith asked.
"Do you think I would let a spineless witch like Leila see my true invention? It’s an obvious hoax. What I have with me is something that even Azrael would tremble in front of," Arizona said, an evil glint passing through her eyes.
"Queen Arizona, it’s not my place to say -"
"Then don’t say it. I have to have my hands on Eros anyhow. If everyone is getting what they want, why shall I be the only one to sacrifice my love?" Arizona scoffed before going into her queen’s chamber to collect more Magna.
