Chapter 51: A sleepy Kiss

Chapter 51: A sleepy Kiss

Daniel thinned his lips as he looked at Alcinder and Elliana.

"Honestly, don’t take my words wrongly, but I think he doesn’t exactly hate her. He can’t believe a human defies his beliefs and challenges his thought process. It doesn’t help that he can’t be angry at her because she is not exactly at fault and is so innocent looking and my current crush," Daniel chuckled, and Samantha hummed as she looked at the back of the girl.

Why does it feel like Elliana wasn’t Daniel’s crush alone? Samantha closed her eyes, her brows knitting since she wasn’t enjoying this ride as much as she did with Elliana.

"When can I expect you again?" Dexter asked as he came all the way to the university to see off Elliana.

The vampire females who knew who Dexter was, looked at Elliana in envy when they saw her getting down from his bike.

"I am not making any promises, but I will try to make it soon," Elliana said, and Dexter pulled her close before kissing her forehead and leaving.

"Oh my god, what kind of luck and backing does this girl exactly have? Why are all the handsome boys, especially vampires roaming around her? Ahhh... I feel so envious. Sometimes I want to talk to her, but I know these types of girls are different in front of boys and different in front of girls," one of the girls talked among their friends.

Arohi and Melony walked out of the gates and saw Elliana looking at Daniel blankly as he was speaking something to her while Samantha and Alcinder stood there causally.

They heard what the girls were talking about and knitted their brows, especially Melony, who had spoken to Elliana multiple times and had felt nothing but likeness towards the girl herself.

\

"She isn’t," Melony said to the vampire girl, who was bad-mouthing Elliana.

"Pardon?" The girl asked.

"She isn’t the type of girl who is two-faced. She is my classmate. And she is the sweetest human you will meet on campus. Believe me. I haven’t met a down-to-earth person like her," Melony said, and Arohi took a deep breath.

This girl surely knows how to attract attention to herself. It’s going to be a tough battle for her. People will try to find flaws in her even if she doesn’t want it just because she got the attention of all the prominent vampires here, including the council head’s son.

Well, what does it have to do with her? She should mind her business unless it involves her directly, no? Arohi shrugged and was about to walk away when she noticed a car stopping at some distance.

This is the car that comes to pick up Elliana, no? Just what kind of people are inside it? Why are they so secretive about it? It is as if they didn’t want to reveal their identity. She narrowed her eyes and tried to look at the person sitting inside, but with the tinted glasses, it was nearly impossible, and Arohi gave up after some time before sighing and walking away.

Elliana, who was talking to Dexter, looked at the car in the distance and smiled at Dexter and Daniel one last time.

"I shall go now," she turned around and walked to the car.

As soon as Elliana entered the car, she noticed the cold vibes that oozed from the people sitting inside, or should she say, her husband, who didn’t look like he was in a good mood.

"Mr. Marino," she smiled sweetly, getting back into her innocent pretense, and Sebastian looked at her from the corner of his eyes before nodding.

He gazed at her attire, and to say she looked really good would be an understatement. She looked beyond fabulous, and well.... He couldn’t put his finger on the beauty and vibes she was oozing.

The tight-fitting jeans showed her thick thighs, and the tank top did nothing to hide her handful br*asts. The jacket she was wearing was giving her more of a rowdy look.

It was a complete contrast to the innocent look he was used to seeing when she wore a dress.

Though the expression on her face was the same, something about her felt different because of her attire today.

He didn’t say anything during the entire journey to the palace.

Elliana kept looking at him from time to time because she didn’t know why, but it felt like he was displeased about something, and it was related to her. His brows were knitted for the initial few seconds before his expression turned neutral, or even colder if she was right.

His side profile looked stiff, and even if he wasn’t saying anything, his tense shoulders were evidence that he was stressed. Was it because she didn’t pick up his phone earlier?

She wanted to explain it, but how is she supposed to initiate the conversation? And what will she tell him she was doing at that time?

As Elliana kept looking at him, she wondered what he would really look like without a mask.

After some time, when she couldn’t find anything to busy herself with, she placed her head on the window sill and closed her eyes.

She didn’t even realize when sleep took over.

When Sebastian noticed she wasn’t looking at him anymore, he turned his face and looked at the girl who was sleeping without a care in the world as if she wasn’t the one who got bullied and suffered injustice.

Honestly, the entire journey he didn’t say anything because he was waiting for her. He waited for her to complain and tell him what she suffered in that forest and how those boys tried to taint her. That’s what women do, no?

They complain about the injustice of life to the ones they think are close to them, no? Does that mean, in her heart, she doesn’t feel like she belongs to the kingdom? Does she not feel like she is his wife and he is here to support, back her, or even fight those pests of humans for her?

Sebastian looked at the girl observantly, and the light sunlight of the setting sun that fell on her face made her look so ethereal that he couldn’t help but sigh.

He bent to pull her up and put her head on his shoulder, so she didn’t end up hitting her head, but as soon as he bent towards her, he was so enchanted by her beauty that the prince didn’t even realize how he was almost leaning on her.

Feeling someone’s proximity near her through her subconscious mind in her sleep, Elliana opened her eyes, and her gaze met with Prince’s blazing ones, making her breath hitch.

Elliana kept looking into his deep ocean-like eyes, and her eyes crinkled slightly in a crescent moon shape.

Lucas, who saw the prince leaning towards the princess, scrunched his brows and turned around to see what was happening. However, when he saw the position they were in, a smile spread across his lips before he nudged Ambrose’s leg to put up the partition.

Ambrose looked at the couple through the rearview mirror before smiling at Lucas with a cunning look.

’Are you out of your mind?’ Lucas asked Ambrose through the mind link, and Ambrose smiled.

’There is nothing wrong in seeing your future king and queen being romantic. It’s not like they are doing something very private. Besides, I really want them to end up together in a happy life. This is just like fuel to my hopes. The prince didn’t put up the partition either. So you can’t exactly force me to do it,’ Ambrose replied with a smirk.

Elliana smiled as if she was in some kind of daze before she grabbed Sebastian’s face between her hands, making the prince raise his brows since he wanted to see what was going on in her mind.

Was she even in her right mind? He won’t let her take away his mask for sure, but he wanted to see if she would dare to do so. He kept looking into her hooded eyes with curiosity.

He was about to call her name since this position was a bit too awkward and annoying, but what happened next was something he hadn’t thought about in his wildest thoughts.

Elliana giggled softly and brought his face forward before plastering her lips on his from above the mask.

Sebastian’s heart thumped for a second when he looked at the innocent look on her face.

"Mr. Marino, my hubby," Elliana giggled.

Even though she practically kissed his mask, Sebastian couldn’t help but wonder what her lips would feel on his lips.

"Prin-’’ Sebastian couldn’t complete his words because Elliana closed her eyes and fell asleep again. Her calm heartbeat throughout the process was a piece of clear evidence that she didn’t know what she was doing to him in her sleep, and it enraged her.

"This girl," Sebastian murmured in anguish. He was angry because she did something so shameful to him, but he was more angry because she probably didn’t even know about it.

Or was he angry at the mask that hindered the touch of her soft lips? His gaze darkened, and he was so angry that he grabbed Elliana’s cheeks between his index finger and thumb and pinched her hard.

When Ambrose and Lucas saw him doing this, they didn’t know what to say or react.

Was the prince really taking out his anger on a sleeping girl?

"Go away, mosquito," Elliana swatted the prince’s hand away, and Sebastian looked at her with locked jaws, his expression turning even more grave than before.

He really had the sudden urge to take off his mask and kiss her senselessly until her lips bruised to the point that she was not able to speak. How dare she call him a mosquito even in her sleep? He scowled.

After a few seconds, he sat straight with an annoyed expression that said -’ don’t talk to me if you want to live.’

His gaze moved to Lucas and Ambrose momentarily.

Lucas and Ambrose bit the inside of their cheeks to keep their expression neutral, and to say it was the toughest job would be an understatement.

Lucas’s eyes met with the prince, and he gulped. Why does he not have a good feeling about it? Why do things feel like going downhill?
