The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 475: Just forget about him

Chapter 475: Just forget about him

"Stop the car," Elliana said to Ambrose, who looked at the cafe and then at the princess through the rearview mirror.

"Are you sure about it, princess?" Ambrose asked and Elliana nodded in confirmation.

"Thank you for dropping me here," She grabbed her clutch and phone and stepped out of the car before nodding at Ambrose, who bowed as he looked at the name of the cafe once again.

There was no doubt he would report the cafe’s name to the prince.

Elliana scoffed mentally.

"Aren’t you going to go inside?" Ambrose asked and Elliana hummed again.

"Aren’t you going to leave? Or do you perhaps want to keep observing me?" Elliana asked, looking at her phone.

"I... I will leave once I see a familiar figure from the University and ensure you will be in safe hands," Ambrose said, averting his gaze, a clear indication he was lying.

He was planning to observe her till he could.

"Well, in that case, I hope you will be able to keep up," Elliana smiled at him, making the subordinate narrow his brows.

"What is that -" He couldn’t complete his sentence because in the next second the sound of a bike reverberating echoed around them.

The bike stopped right in front of Elliana, and Ambrose immediately went alert, pulling out his gun.

However, as soon as the rider took off his helmet shaking his hair, Ambrose looked at the princess and put the gun back in his pocket, a bit unsure.

"This..." Ambrose started again, stopping when he saw Dexter getting down from the bike and giving the spare helmet to Elliana.

"Princess, you are not thinking of doing what I think, right?" Ambrose asked, feeling helpless as he had no way to stop the princess.

He clenched and unclenched his hands.

"It’s exactly what you think, Mr. Ambrose. I hope you can keep up," Elliana whispered before she put on the helmet and started the bike.

Without giving a warning, Elliana accelerated the bike, making a loud ’vroom’ ’vroom’ sound.

Ambrose cursed out loud when he saw the princess vanishing on the next turn within a second and he contemplated following her.

"Hey, will you slow down? This is not a racing track. People will get hurt," Dexter shouted at Elliana, holding the back of the bike for dear life, knowing all too well that she won’t slow down.

However, in the next moment, something unexpected happened.

Elliana immediately applied the brakes, making the bike slide to the side before it stopped near the end of the road, right before the junction of the highway.

Dexter’s heart skipped a beat before it started beating loudly in his chest.

He looked at the back of her helmet, placing his hand on his chest. She was seriously the only girl capable of giving him this kind of adrenaline rush.

It was amazing. Not how she handled the brakes and the slide, but how she listened to him for the first time.

He saw Elliana getting out of the bike, his brows knitting in confusion.

She placed the helmet on the bike without looking at him before she turned and started walking towards the forest.

Dexter, who was too shocked to react earlier, snapped out of his daze and looked at the back of the girl.

"Hey! Where are you going? Is it because I shouted at you? Hey, listen! I am sorry, okay? Will you come back? Damn it. I can never catch a break with her, can I?" Dexter cussed before he parked the bike behind one of the trees and then used his vampire speed to find the girl, who seemed to have vanished in the forest.

He didn’t know why, but these days he feels like he was her guardian and not her friend anymore.

Wait. What if she really vanished using her witch powers? Dexter paused before he heard some shuffling at some distance and started running again.

It wasn’t long before he finally found her sitting in a clear area, looking at the rays of the sun with no expression whatsoever.

"You have a weird way of keeping me on my toes, don’t you? If it’s about how I shouted at you -" Dexter started, but Elliana shook her head.

"You are right. I shouldn’t be putting people’s lives at risk. I have no such damn right to hurt anyone," Elliana whispered.

Dexter observed her for a few seconds before sighing.

It was awkward for him. He was used to her denying and troubling him and him shouting and telling her what was right and wrong and her still doing what she wanted to get into trouble.

Why was she acting so docile today?

"Do you have a smoke or something?" Elliana asked out of the blue, and Dexter’s brows quirked.

"Dude, now you are surely acting weird. Smoke? Have you forgotten? You hate those things," Dexter sat close to her.

He looked at her hands. Was it only him or were her fingers really trembling?

"I know, but I guess, I just need something to take my mind off things. A little bit of mental distraction. Do you really not have anything that will help me? Anything will work," Elliana asked, looking at her toenails as a rogue tear slipped from her eyes that she quickly wiped.

Dexter sighed. Was this dark witch stuff really taking that kind of toll on her?

"You love him a lot? Your husband I mean. That’s why the idea of leaving him is having such a big effect on you," Dexter said before he pulled out a candy from his pocket that he was planning to eat later.

Elliana took the candy from his hand but didn’t say anything.

"Have you ever felt that dying was a good option but you want to live to slap all the people who want to wrong you in the face?" Elliana asked, and Dexter’s body froze when she used the ’dying’ word.

He looked at her before holding her shoulders and forcing her to look into his eyes.

"Elliana, you are scaring me now. Has something else happened? Did someone say anything? Was it your husband? Have you revealed your secret already? I..." Dexter stopped when he remembered his conclusion.

"Is it about Sebastian Marino?" He tested the waters, not drawing any conclusion.

Elliana looked at him blankly.

"Why would you say his name in all this when I am trying to forget about him and have a good day??" Elliana asked.

Dexter chuckled awkwardly, thinking his conclusion was probably wrong and sighed in relief.

He can’t even imagine what would happen to her if it was Sebastian Marino because that man literally loathes dark witches.

There was this time when he had almost led his team to annihilate a complete clan of dark witches. He was 75% successful and was able to wipe out 67 witches while some of the remaining lost their magic forever because he cut their tongues and hands and poured hot metal in their eyes.

It was a gruesome thing to hear, let alone witness.

The dark witches harbored and executed the biggest revenge plot that would’ve wiped half of the vampire population from the entire world, but it was all down to some pact that was signed between King Abramo when they heard that Sebastian was the prophecy child and would probably lead to the extinction of his species that they stopped.

"I... I am sorry about that. It’s just, that man is literally a lethal weapon against dark witches. The things he did in the past are some dark stories that the dark witches might use to tell their kids. And it didn’t help when you said that you are in a one-sided love situation with him," Dexter shuddered, and Elliana hummed.

"Don’t worry about it. It’s all sorted now," Elliana munched on her candy before she looked at the sky, smiling at her destiny.

"Would you like to see a show tomorrow?" Elliana asked out of the blue.

"A show? I don’t think so. It’s the crowning ceremony. Our next king will be announced tomorrow," Dexter said, and Elliana smiled at him.

"Don’t worry. The show will be there only," She stood from her place.

"It’s about time. Let’s go meet others," Elliana said, and Dexter looked at the back of the leaving girl.

He didn’t know what she was going through. She was clearly hiding something from him, and he just wished she would get over it soon because this ignorant side of her didn’t look good for her good.

But more than that, she sounded like she was planning something big, bigger than what anyone can imagine.
