The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride -
Chapter 461: One of his brothers?
Chapter 461: One of his brothers?
"Hey, can we talk?" Elliana approached Dexter, who was sitting on the edge of the cliff with his legs dangling as he drank what looked like chilled beer.
"Don’t spoil my mood and get lost," Dexter took another sip of beer.
Elliana smiled sadly.
"I guess, my presence is not what you need at the moment, but I would still like to stay. Don’t say anything, just stay together," Elliana whispered before she sat behind him with her back touching his back as she let her emotions take over slowly.
Hot tears spilled from her eyes as she remembered whatever she said to that woman.
Even though she was hurt by what happened, she still regretted saying those words. No matter what she did or said, at the end of the day, she was her mother and brought her into this world.
Her mind was conflicted. On one hand, she wanted to be happy because she found her mother, and on the other hand, she wanted to scream in agony because she didn’t expect what her mother would be like.
She had expected all kinds of bad habits since her mother was a woman who left her own kid to someone’s royal Kingdom and never turned around to check if her daughter was doing alright or not if she was alive or not, but she had never thought her mother would return to sacrifice her.
There were still many questions in her mind regarding everything that happened all those years ago, and funnily she was in no position to find anything. She wasn’t curious at all.
Elliana just sat there with her head on her knees and her legs close to her chest as she let her tears fall freely on her legs.
"Are you seriously leaving?" Dexter asked after a long drawn-out pause, taking another sip, feeling her sadness through their attached backs.
"The person I am married to hates dark witches, and that’s exactly what I am. My powers are unfolding slowly according to a witch, and it won’t be long before I will come into my full species form. That person would surely throw me out after finding my truth.
Regardless of that, the vampires won’t entertain my stay in the kingdom as a witch," Elliana whispered softly, sounding hurt.
Dexter didn’t have anything to say to that. She was practically spitting facts. The royal vampires won’t entertain her presence when their youngest prince hates the dark witches. It wasn’t a hidden knowledge, everyone knew this fact.
And to say, Elliana caught the attention of that one prince who hates the dark witches like hell. They won’t allow her in the kingdom for fear of the ruckus he might cause.
"I pity you," Dexter said after some time as he turned around, pulling Elliana close between his arms and legs as he sat, making her lean on his left leg as he looked at her.
"You are not alone, Dexter. I pity myself too," Elliana smiled.
"We can meet in the Moon City or the human kingdom or Sun City or the no man’s land, right?" He looked at her with hope and Elliana smiled before nodding.
"Or do you really think you are getting rid of me so soon?" She asked, making him smile before he sighed and hugged her from the side, making her lean in his chest.
"Just remember that no matter what happens, I will always be by your side. I indeed hated it when we met only a couple of months ago, and you are leaving again, but I understand your dilemma too," Dexter patted her back softly.
Elliana closed her eyes, all the emotions that tired her, relaxing slowly as she fell asleep.
Dexter looked at the girl in his arms who was fast asleep and pressed his lips into a thin line.
Wasn’t this girl a bit too trusting? What if he turns out to be one of those men who takes advantage of her? She literally has no survival instincts whatsoever. How will she survive in the wild as a dark witch?
He sighed and shook his head, contemplating where to take her to let her sleep in peace.

Meanwhile, in Sebastian’s main office, Sebastian sat in his seat with his eyes closed, thinking about what his spy said.
The heirloom used for that banned witchcraft near the seashore was placed in the royal Kingdom and only two people had access to it. Prince Stephano and Prince Vincenzo.
Though the other departments of artifacts and ancient things in the palace were handled by Prince Marcus, Santo, and Angelo together, that kind of heirloom, the upper class that can be used for witchcraft, was one of its kind and placed in the highest security room.
Either way, was it really true that a prince from the royal palace took help from a dark witch to go against him?
For some reason, even after everything his family did to him, he was having trouble believing the fact. No brother of his, despite their character, was the kind who would go against their own race.
Was it just a faux to create issues between the princes?
The royal palace wasn’t a place that was guarded by a witch’s eternal shield that banned other witches from entering or performing any magic. That seal broke after the animosity between the species.
The chances of a witch going to the artifact room and getting that heirloom were more plausible and believable.
Then again, the artifact room, just because it had an heirloom that could accompany banned witchcraft, was enclosed by a Callisto seal.
’Damn it!’ Sebastian cursed loudly when it didn’t make sense to him at all.
No matter how many justifications he gave to himself, the fact that he was ending up at one point said it all.
There was someone in the family who had accompanied the dark witch that night and helped her.
There was someone who was so against him that he didn’t even worry about the kind of destruction he was bringing into the kingdom. And he needed to find that traitor soon or there was no guarantee that the person wouldn’t call that witch and perform those crafts on the royal Kingdom.
What if his wife gets hurt in the process? No. He can’t have anyone hurt his wife. He needs to find out the culprit before shifting to the royal palace.
"Sir, the car is ready," Lucas informed Sebastian, and he raised his gaze at the subordinate before humming.
He picked up his phone and looked at the time before sighing.
"The princess must be already home. Do you think I should stop by the palace before leaving? I won’t be free until midnight," Sebastian asked.
Lucas looked into his boss’s eyes and pressed his lips into a thin line awkwardly.
He wanted to say that it would be a bad idea to go to the palace first because whenever his prince is around the princess, he loses hold of time, and that wasn’t a good thing when the ceremony was two days later, and they needed to finalize this deal with the Alpha of the Glacier pack to get the leftover information about the rogues in return of their assistance.
However, he was troubled.
If he said these exact words, there was no way he was getting out of it.
"She must be missing me," Sebastian added, and Lucas smiled forcefully.
Lucas - "..." Are you sure she is the one missing you, sir, and not the other way around?
"I think you should stop by the palace," Lucas said, and Sebastian looked at him with a glare.
"What kind of friend are you, Lucas? You should be stopping me from going there, and look at you, encouraging me to go there," Sebastian sighed before he walked out of the room leaving Lucas in his helpless state.
’Why does it always happen to me?’ Lucas groaned before he followed the prince.
He was about to sit inside the car when he received a call from Vincenzo, and his brows furrowed.
Sebastian closed the door of the car and stood leaning on it, looking at the number.
’The chances of it being Mr. Vincenzo is high too, sir. He is one of the loyal brothers around Prince Stephano and can do anything to help him. Wasn’t he the one who snitched about you entering the security system of the prison too? What if it’s all down for the throne?’ Sebastian remembered the Duke’s words who was handling this case with his spies, and he picked up the call with a sigh.
"What is it?" He asked.
Vincenzo took a deep breath and sighed.
He needed to know that Elliana wasn’t badly hurt and reached the palace safely.
The screams, that look on her face, those angry witches mocking her, everything was still fresh in his head even after he pacified himself so many times.
"Brother Sebastian," Vincenzo paused, unsure about how to start the sentence.
"Is there something specific you wanted to talk about?" Sebastian asked, and Vincenzo was about to answer when a man walked to Sebastian.
"Sir, it’s about the princess. She wasn’t at University when I reached there to pick her up after exams. I talked to the dean after waiting for one hour, thinking she was with her friends, but she wasn’t at the University anymore. I talked to Miss Zoya but she hasn’t reached the palace either," the chauffeur who was assigned to pick up Elliana daily while Sebastian was busy, said, and Vincenzo froze in his place.
She hasn’t reached the palace?
