Chapter 419: Tamed with her
Chapter 419: Tamed with her
"Can I know why you guys thought it was a good reason to disturb me and my princess so early in the morning?" Sebastian asked while descending the stairs.
Stephano smirked.
He knew it would work.
As hard as it was to believe the fact, his brother was indeed whipped for his little human, and the only way to communicate with him without putting him on edge was by bringing that human into the picture.
"We heard that the witches have been meeting the princess. We just want to ensure that everything is alright and she isn’t troubled," Noah said with a straight face.
Sebastian looked at his family members, suppressing the urge to scoff. Who were they trying to fool?
"If I didn’t tell you about it, it means the matter was solved. The witches came because they smelt heavy bleeding from her when she was attacked while saving the third princess.
We all know the witches keep trying to find a reason to act against me, so they wanted to check how I was treating my human wife," Sebastian said, his expression and gaze neutral, and everyone looked at him unsure of what he was feeling.
"We understand, but it’s the royal Kingdom protocol to have the subject questioned when they meet other species. I am sure you remember that," Prince Santo said.
Sebastian scoffed this time, not hiding the mockery in his words.
"And for some reason, the entire family is here to question my princess?" He asked, his gaze shifting to Vincenzo.
Sebastian’s brows narrowed.
Though this brother of his was always there for his princess and treated her well, what were the chances that he wouldn’t have a slip of heart if he saw how beautiful she looked so early in the morning?
"You can’t enter," Sebastian said, his words clear, and Vincenzo quirked his brows.
"And why is that? I didn’t even say anything to you," he asked.
"Because this is my palace, and I make rules here. You can’t come," Sebastian said, looking at the rest of his family, helplessness coursing in his veins as he knew they wouldn’t leave so soon now that they were here, especially not when they had brought the king with them.
Vincenzo was about to speak again when his gaze shifted towards the stairs, his senses immediately catching the familiar scent of his friend.
Sebastian, who also immediately smelt his princess, looked at Vincenzo, the awestruck expression on his brother’s face, making him want to twist his brother’s head to the other side.
Sebastian sighed and turned around towards the staircase, his heart skipping a beat.
If having your breath taken away was an expression, it was exactly what he was feeling in the moment.
His princess was wearing a soft beige-colored gown that reached her ankles. It had a slightly deep square neckline, long lantern sleeves, and a bandana wrapped around her neck, probably to hide the bite he gave her last night.
If that wasn’t enough, she was even wearing long earrings to match the dress, and the mascara was enough to take anyone’s breath away.
What the hell was she wearing?!
Sebastian didn’t waste a single second and rushed to the stairs, meeting her midway, and stopping her.
"What are you doing, princess?" Sebastian asked, blocking her from everyone’s views.
Elliana looked at him, surprised, unsure of what she did to have him look at her with such frustration.
"I... I thought you wanted me to come down. Was that not the case? Should I -"
’Of course, I didn’t want you to come, especially looking this enchanting. Why do you think I was whispering those words?’ Sebastian wanted to ask, but knowing all too well his family would hear too, he stopped himself.
"What I am asking is why the hell are you looking so beautiful?" Sebastian hissed again, and Elliana looked at him for a few seconds before a helpless smile appeared on her face.
"You really have a weird way of complimenting someone, Mr. Marino," she said, and he hummed before holding her hand, intertwining his fingers with her, making her look down at their hands.
"You don’t have to come. Rest in your room," Sebastian turned around and was about to pull her away when her other hand was grabbed by someone else, and Sebastian’s eyes turned dark.
"Who the hell-" Sebastian stopped when he noticed it was Mother Freya.
"Why are you taking her away, Sebastian? We are here to see her only," Freya said before shifting her gaze to Elliana.
"You look lovely, dear," Freya pulled Elliana down with her.
Elliana greeted everyone with a slight bow and noticed everyone walking toward the living room, except Prince Vincenzo.
Her brows furrowed.
"Prince Vincenzo, why are you standing there? Is something wrong?" Elliana asked.
"Well, your husband -"
"Yes, brother Vincenzo, why are you standing there? Get inside," Sebastian gritted through his teeth.
Vincenzo quirked his brows at his little brother’s chameleon nature.
Everyone was surprised to see their prince acting like this. This was the first time he went back on his decision so easily without even anyone persuading him.
"Miss Zoya, bring something for the princess. She didn’t eat much last night," Sebastian said before looking at his family, who were looking at him dumbstruck.
Family -"..." We are here too. At least ask us if we ate something out of basic courtesy.
Elliana looked at the family and then at Mr. Marino before sighing.
She had gotten a basic idea of what happened in the morning while the decision of the ceremony was made and knew her husband was probably quite bitter about it.
"Mr. Marino," Elliana shook her head at him, and Sebastian looked into her eyes.
He sighed. If his princess wanted to be a good daughter-in-law, he wasn’t going to stop her from doing something that would give her happiness.
"Come to the dining room if you guys haven’t eaten anything and want to join. It’s our breakfast time," Sebastian stood from his place and left the living room, making Elliana look at everyone in apology.
"I am sorry on behalf of Mr. Marino. He is just... Peachy?" Elliana struggled to find the right word before she stood.
"Please have breakfast with us," Elliana said, and Abramo stood from his place, smiling at the little girl, followed by everyone.
"Don’t worry, we are used to him," Noah said to Elliana before caressing her hair.
They all walked to the breakfast table, and Elliana waited for everyone to leave.
She noticed how Prince Vincenzo was the last one to leave and quickly walked to him.
"Will you spare me sometime tomorrow during lunch when I am free from University?" She blinked her eyes at him, and Vincenzo looked at the girl before nodding.
"Didn’t I tell you all of my time is for you," Vincenzo asked with a soft smile and Elliana nodded.
Sebastian, who was witnessing the interaction without knowing the context of what they were talking about, clenched his fists around the cutlery.
"Princess, your food is here," Sebastian said, loud enough for her to hear, and she smiled and nodded at Vincenzo one last time before walking inside the dining room, her gaze meeting with Prince’s hot and blazing one, promising her nothing good.
"Anyway, as we are eating, Princess Elliana, can you give us an insight into why the witches keep coming to meet you?" Prince Marcus asked, and Elliana whose mouth was full of food, looked at him, making him chuckle, and Sebastian sighed.
"Stupid Princess," he took off a napkin and wiped her lips, making the family look at their prince.
They could see the visible difference between how Sebastian is in front of this girl and the rest of the world.
"I think it’s because I am a witch too," Elliana said with a straight face.
Everyone paused what they were doing, and looked at her before their lips twitched and they started chuckling.
"That was a good one. You almost had us there,"
"We didn’t know you knew to be this playful and joke around so much,"
"Hahah, is that the reason why Sebastian is always in a good mood around you?"
Everyone started saying one after the other, and Elliana smiled helplessly.
Everyone in the room laughed apart from three people, Sebastian, Stephano, and Vincenzo.
Stephano looked at the girl observantly, a smirk forming on his lips.
’Interesting,’ he mumbled to himself, remembering all the things he had noticed when she had visited them at the royal palace
While Vincenzo, who knew she wasn’t the type to joke around with a matter as serious as this kept looking at her before averting his gaze when they met with Sebastian’s suspicious ones.
It looks like he will have to ask her what this was all about later.
Sebastian looked at his wife, wondering why she would make a joke like this when she clearly knew how much he hated witches and their related species.
However, the soft smile on her face made him sigh and let go of the matter.
"Anyway, what’s the truth?" King Abramo asked, wanting to cross-check if what Sebastian told them would match with the Princess’s words or not.
"No particular reason. They said they were there to check up on me. I don’t understand why they would come to check up on me so suddenly when I don’t even know them.
No one came to check up on me when I was back at home and my family used to - Anyway, it doesn’t make sense to me, so I am not sure," Elliana answered, meaning every word, and they nodded.
Elliana on the other hand smiled bitterly in her heart.
She wasn’t joking, but right now wasn’t a time to tell them either. At least now she would be able to say that she tried telling them the truth.
