The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 390: What was she doing?

Chapter 390: What was she doing?

"It’s been more than 20 hours, and you still haven’t told me what we are doing," Azura took a whiff of her herbal tea, feeling annoyed as hell.

Yesterday, when she was having fun at the Hunter bloodline palace and teaching a lesson to Elliana’s stepmom, she thought about all the things she would do to her that would make her life immensely painful without letting others know about it.

Starting from bursting a few veins in her head and causing a brain hemorrhage to creating leukemia, giving her a kind of STD or AIDS, or any other kind of untreatable cancer or tumor in her body, that would make sense for humans while fracturing some of her bones to let her feel the slow pain that Elliana felt her entire childhood and teenage life, she had decided it all.

However, Nathaniel didn’t allow her to do so.

In her moment of desperation to do at least something she ended up throwing Marla out of the third floor’s balcony and causing some minute fractures.

The falling on a weird angle had indeed caused a fracture in Marla’s spine that would’ve rendered her unable to move or probably turned her mute too, but Nathaniel corrected it immediately.

According to him, he didn’t want to attract more attention to that human girl than it already was since her so-called leech husband had already started to suspect dark witches.

"I can say the same thing, Azura. It’s been 20 hours, and you still haven’t told me about your future plans. Let me correct it. Your future plans for Elliana. Why are you hovering around her? What exactly do you want from her?" Nathaniel retorted, looking straight into her eyes.

Azura gritted her teeth.

She wasn’t used to this kind of behavior or persistence from anyone.

If it had been anyone other than Nathaniel, the last person who reminded her of King Eros, she would’ve punished him for keeping her and wasting her time like this, not to mention questioning her.

"Why are you doing this? Is this some kind of fun game for you?" Azura asked, Camere’s magical connection tapping on her forehead, making her grit her teeth.

Why was Camere trying to contact her through her magical powers? Azura thought, looking at Nathaniel, who didn’t like that he was ready to budge from his place or even let her go anywhere without telling him the entire truth.

Azura took a deep breath and squared her jaws before nodding.

"Fine. I will tell you about it. I was indeed creating a dark spell and preparing for it in the mystical forests," Azura said, and Nathaniel scoffed.

"I already know about that, Queen Azura. I also know that the spell is being created to use Elliana. What I want to know is what exactly are you planning," Nathaniel looked at her.

"If I tell you the truth, will you help me?" Azura quirked her brows before smiling.

"Will you help me if I say I am going to resurrect your father?" Azura asked.

She thought she would get some shocked reaction from Nathaniel, but all she received was a laugh full of mockery and she narrowed her eyes.

The smile on her face froze, replaced with a scowl.

What was this all about?

She was angry that he dared to laugh at her, but more than that, she was confused.

"What are you -"

"How will you resurrect my father when he is probably not even dead?" Nathaniel asked Azura, and her eyes immediately turned dark.

She could hear anything but a joke about her husband. Her powers moved on their own and a loud thunderstorm echoed out of the window, making Nathaniel sigh.

Like mother, like daughter. He shook his head, remembering how Elliana’s powers do the same to show her anger and sadness.

"Don’t cross your limits, Nathaniel. I know you and your dad always had differences because he couldn’t accept you and keep you in the kingdom, but that doesn’t mean you get to joke around about his death," Azura seethed through her teeth and was about to use her powers on him in anger when she recognized the familiar sadness in his eyes.

"Nath-"

"Do you think I would joke about something as severe as this? Though we had differences, he was my dad. I... Recently, I found out what happened and how he died. Naturally, I wanted to apologize to him on his death anniversary. But guess what? I went to his grave and he wasn’t there. Did you know about it?" Nathaniel asked, raising his gaze at her.

Disbelief was written all over Azura’s face.

"That’s not true," Azura stepped back, almost stumbling back on the chair, her powers protecting her, and Nathaniel thinned his lips.

"You are lying," Azura murmured, looking around herself in shock and Nath sighed.

He didn’t want to do it like this. Evil or not, Azura was a respected witch in the dark world who single-handedly protected the entire Kingdom from all the other species with her ruling powers even when there was no king.

She didn’t even have the support of elders like Arizona did.

Nathaniel didn’t want to reveal the truth to her and break her like this, but he knew he needed to.

"Queen Azura -"

"Tell me you are lying, Nathaniel. Tell me that I haven’t been fooled by my own husband and that I haven’t been living in solace alone for nothing," Azura lifted her gaze to Nathaniel, who looked at her helplessly.

"It’s not my dad, Queen Azura. He entrusted Arizona with his life. Don’t you remember what exactly the deal was all about?" Nathaniel asked her, and Azura looked down in disbelief.

Of course, she remembered. Her husband entrusted Arizona with his life in the hope she would save their daughter.

"My sister? My own sister hid the truth from me?" Azura asked, and without waiting for his words, she vanished into thin air.

Nathaniel smiled.

The sad expression he had on his face immediately dissipated.

As much as he loved his father and knew using him was the sickest move he could pull, he still cared about a living person more than the dead.

Protecting his half-sister from the sacrifice spell was more important for him than saving his father’s death news whom no one knew about.

Besides, for what Arizona did to him, lying to him and keeping him in the dark for 19 long years, it was better she takes the wrath of the dark queen herself.

Nathaniel turned around from the mountain and raised his hand to see where Elliana was.

Today was her volcano training which had been postponed earlier because of all the drama happening around her.

Nathaniel sighed and sat on one of the isolated hills to see Elliana, his brows knitting when he saw her.

What the hell was she pulling here? He wondered as he saw her standing on the terrace and opening her palm towards the sky.

"Is she trying to make it rain?" Nathaniel heard a voice behind him, and he looked at the dean who appeared out of nowhere.

"What are you doing here?" Nathaniel furrowed his brows.

"Well, I needed to talk to you about the girl’s progress so I just used a locator spell and found you sitting here," the dean said, and Nathaniel rolled his eyes as they sat.

"Drink?" The dean clicked his hands and made a bottle of their special witch drink appear in front of them.

He poured two glasses of the drink before handing one of the glasses to Nathaniel.

"I don’t know, but it looks like she learned some kind of spell and now is trying to see if it works or not," Dean tried to guess.

"Where will she learn new spells from? It’s not like she has some kind of grimoire," Nathaniel said and took a sip of the drink.

However, as soon as he took a sip, he spat the liquid when he saw what Elliana did.

"The hell!" Even the dean stood from his place as they clicked their fingers to use the fastest method to appear on the terrace of the building.
