The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride -
Chapter 376: I am not bound
Chapter 376: I am not bound
"Where do you think you are going?" Nathaniel appeared right in front of Azura, blocking her teleportation, and making her concentration break.
Azura’s pupils dilated as she started falling back on the ground from around 10,000 ft height a few kilometers away from the hunter’s bloodline kingdom, caught off guard by the sudden intrusion.
Her brows squinted as she placed her hand in front of her instinctively.
Never in a hundred years has anyone dared and able to break teleportation as strong as the queen of the dark world witches. Then who could be daring and powerful enough to -
"Who the hell is inviting their death by-" Azura paused when she saw who it was.
Nathaniel, the first son of King Eros, aka, her stepson.
"Nath," Azura glared at the man, not because she hated him or anything, but because she could’ve gotten seriously hurt if not for her powers that immediately got a hold of her.
"Oh, isn’t this my dear step-mommy?" Nathaniel quirked his left brow at her, making her sigh.
"So now you are resorting to this? Are you expressing some kind of rebellion now that you are of the right age to take over the kingdom? Is that what this is all about?" Azura asked.
Nathaniel looked at the woman in front of him and sighed.
If it had been anyone else from the kingdom asking him this question, he would’ve thought the person was interested and cared more about the throne, but knowing what exactly Azura was interested in and was ready to give her all for, he respected her enough not to talk back to her.
"No. I am not interested in that dead place. I am just measly intrigued. Let’s be mature and stop talking about these useless things that don’t matter to either of us, yeah?" Nath smiled, his smile irking Azura as she saw a hint of bandit vibes around Nathaniel.
Azura gazed into the man’s galaxy eyes for a few seconds, his eyes reminding her of King Eros and she sighed, all her anger dissipating into nothingness.
"I know it’s not the throne, it’s not some want for attention either, so what is this all about?" Azura asked, already starting her walk towards the kingdom again and Nathaniel followed suit.
"What are you doing going towards the hunter’s bloodline? Don’t try to lie because we all know who you are targeting," Nath said.
Azura’s eyes flickered to Nathaniel at his choice of words, and she looked at him with raised brows before smiling in fake amusement.
"So that is the case. Why didn’t you tell me earlier? You are worried about that Elliana girl, right? But why? The last time I checked, she was under Arizona’s care, right? So why are you - " Azura asked, faking her surprise, before pausing.
"Aaa... you are also under Arizona’s care, no? Is that why you are worried that I might go and manipulate her? That dark witch’s mind? But then again, if you were really worried about that, you and your Miss Arizona wouldn’t have been lying down happily when that girl was practically bullied there. So what exactly is going on?" Azura asked.
Nathaniel gritted his teeth. It wasn’t as if he didn’t want to protect Elliana. The moment she had screamed, he was probably the first one who had felt the turbulence in her energies and her powers meddling with nature’s laws.
Glaciers melted, the forests were set to fire, rain appeared in the places where it shouldn’t, the rivers started overflowing, the marine life was disturbed, and whatnot.
So while he wasn’t allowed to meddle with her business and do anything when it came to the hunter’s bloodline, he was out there solving the mess that her sadness and pain were creating.
The relationship between them might’ve changed, and the meaning of his love for her might have changed, but the intensity will always be the same. He will be damned if anyone tried to hurt her in a way that would risk her life.
But it all came down to that one promise that Arizona made, the promise that was both a boon and Bane to Elliana, the promise because of which Elliana is alive in the first place.
"You don’t need to worry about that. This is between that girl and us. Why are you so worried about a mere human?" Nathaniel asked, and Azura chuckled.
Her laugh was so dark that the thought of her planning something sent a shiver down Nathaniel’s spine.
"Is she a human, Nath? Didn’t you just say that we should stop wasting our time? So why are you saying this useless thing? You and I both know she is a dark witch, and the highest quality," Azura smiled.
Nathaniel gave her a tight-lipped smile.
"If you know so much, I wouldn’t be surprised if you also know what is inside her. Is that why you were in those mystical forests with your five leaders of elements, initiating a spell that has been kept forbidden even by the dark ancestors?" Nathaniel asked, raising his brows.
Azura’s pupils dilated. She didn’t expect anyone to find out about the spell when she hadn’t even started yet.
"Are you spying on me?" She asked.
"Probably. But that doesn’t answer my question. Is that the reason you are performing that spell?" Nathaniel asked, his gaze flickering to the mansion that was coming into sight now.
Since they both were using hidden spells and these were mere humans, no one would be able to see them even if they walked inside those large gates.
And while disappearing and then appearing in those walls was easier, they still had a lot to talk about.
"Well, why should I answer you? You didn’t answer me either. Why do you guys, not do anything when those humans hurt that girl? What is stopping you? I mean, look at me, am I not going there to teach that woman a lesson?" Azura asked, and Nathaniel quirked his brows at her.
Did he hear her right? She was going there to do what?
"By that woman, you mean her Stepmom?" Nathaniel asked to confirm.
"Of course. I don’t care what kind of rules and regulations or things you are bound by, but as a dark witch, I am not. And when I can’t kill her, I can surely punish her for touching the person who is so useful to me. I mean, just how dare she?" Azura said as they appeared inside the palace.
"Hey, wait. Queen Azura, you are not going to do anything like that. Arizona made a promise to a human that she wouldn’t interfere in this family’s mess and -"
"And last time I checked, I wasn’t Arizona. I am still a dark witch, and I am not bound to any obligation or promises. Even if that girl wasn’t so useful to me, I would’ve still done the same because that girl is a dark witch and the dark witches are my responsibility," Azura said.
Nathaniel looked at the people around him.
He wanted to stop her from doing anything that would point fingers at them and might become a problem for Elliana, but he wouldn’t lie that he really wanted that woman to get hurt badly.
For even laying her finger on Elliana, he wanted her to fall from the top of this mansion and -
"And that shall happen," Azura grinned, clearly hearing his thoughts.
Nathaniel widened his eyes.
"Hey, you are not -"
"Oh, I am damn serious, Nathaniel. You just wait and watch," Azura smirked.
"The dark witches are called bad guys for a reason. Now how bad it must be looking that a dark witch got bullied and to that level? All because she couldn’t use her magic? What a pity," Azura grinned, her gaze flickering to Madeline, who was descending the stairs with her earphones plugged in.
"Azura, this is not right. You will have to answer to Arizona -"
"You are mistaken if you think I can’t handle my sister, Nathaniel," Azura looked at Nathaniel, smug before looking at Madeline, who narrowed her eyes.
Nathaniel watched in mere curiosity when Madeline suddenly grabbed her head.
"Oh... My head -" Madeline couldn’t even complete her sentence when Nathaniel saw her eyes widening as she slipped down the stairs.
"Mom! Dad!" Madeline screamed as she rolled down the stairs from the second floor, her body hitting the railings as she kept rolling.
"Madeline! Oh my god!" They heard Marla’s voice, and Azura looked at the third floor of the palace.
Nathaniel closed his eyes.
This wasn’t good. It was like they were serving themselves as bait and even telling Azura what to do exactly by being up so high.
He looked at Azura’s smug expression and sighed.
Would this woman have done the same if she had known Elliana was her real daughter? Or would her reaction have been even stronger?
He shook his head. It would be better if she didn’t find out until Elliana was strong enough to protect herself.
Nathaniel sighed when Madeline rolled down the last stair, her head hitting the floor.
There was no blood.
Was Madeline really lucky? She fell from the second floor on the stairs and her -
Nathaniel turned to his left, the evil glint in Azura’s eyes making him sigh.
It was never in the plans. She never wanted to hurt Madeline. The person she wanted to hurt was -
Nathaniel looked up, the piercing sound of Marla’s scream echoing in the palace, making him sigh.
"Well, now let’s see how she will like it when I split her legs into two like she was parting my Elliana’s," Azura said subconsciously, and Nathaniel looked at her surprised.
What did she say?
