Chapter 291: Elemental mixture
Chapter 291: Elemental mixture
"Oh, sunshine. It’s not your fault," Nathaniel said and pulled her in for a hug when she started sobbing like a kid, who was afraid of being scolded after doing something bad.
His heart swelled at the sight of her and felt his emotions trembling when she sobbed even more, scared of herself. He can’t even imagine the kinds of thoughts were going inside her head and what it feels like to be scared of yourself.
"Ssshhh," Nathaniel patted her back softly, sighing.
The Dean barely stood from his place before his legs folded on their own and he fell to the ground again, looking at his burnt hand in shock.
Element fire?
He looked at the girl before he looked at his skin cracking.
Element wind?
He gulped before coughing, black dirty water coming out of his mouth, and his hands shivered.
Element water?
The Dean looked at Nathaniel for answers, but the man only shrugged.
"A mixture," Nathaniel smiled at him before patting Elliana’s head adoringly and turning her to face him so that she wouldn’t have to see what was happening to the Dean.
A mixture? The Dean’s hands trembled before he felt his head being pushed to the ground.
Element Earth.
"My little ifrit, don’t be afraid. There’s nothing wrong with you. It’s just your powers are developing themselves. They will obey you. Don’t worry. Just look at the good side. You won’t ever feel alone now," Nathaniel cupped her cheeks, massaging her skin with his thumb.
He looked behind her at the Dean who finally took control of what was happening and stood from his place, looking as perfect as before.
However, only the dean knew what kind of traumatic experience he had in those few seconds.
The Dean looked at Nathaniel, not knowing if he should be laughing or crying at his shamelessness.
She won’t ever feel alone? He was sure that she wouldn’t let others feel alone either. Her presence would be enough.
"But can I ask you for something?" Nathaniel asked, and Elliana nodded, a tear slipping down from her eyes as she was more scared of herself now.
"Ssssshhh, don’t cry. It’s not your fault, my lovely ifrit. It was his fault. He is a dean. He should’ve known not to cross his limits.
It happened because he was trying to steal your energy. I am sorry you had to see it. I will scold him, okay?" Nathaniel bent to her eyes level, looking into her eyes as he coaxed her.
Elliana looked into Nathaniel’s reassuring eyes and nodded, wiping her tears.
"I didn’t mean to hurt him," She said, and Nathaniel nodded.
"I know, ifrit. Just don’t wish for someone’s death or extremely bad things that you will regret later from now on and keep a lookout for your powers, okay? It’s not hard to control them. You just need to be the dominant one, okay? You are stronger than you think, and I mean emotionally and mentally," Nathaniel patted her hair, and she nodded.
"Okay," Elliana said, and Nathaniel smiled, feeling sad for the girl who was suddenly exposed to a life and set of powers that she knew nothing about.
It was strange. He was feeling bad for the girl when it should’ve been the world he should be feeling bad for, specifically for the people who would get on her bad side.
"So, do you know how to get your hard-worked formulas back?" Nathaniel asked, tucking her hair behind her ears, and Elliana shook her head.
"Here," Nathaniel clicked his fingers, and a new set of papers arrived in his hand with all the formulas she worked hard on for three days.
Elliana looked at them before smiling through her tears.
"Here, drink this," Nathaniel clicked his fingers again, and brought her favorite chocolate shake, making her sniff and nod.
"You are awesome," she wiped her tears, and the dean looked at the girl, who was happy at something so minuscule while keeping the powers to destroy the entire witch community and shun things inside her.
"Nathaniel, we should leave," The Dean said, and Nathaniel looked at the girl before humming.
"Take care," he pulled her and kissed her hair, smiling at the girl who was busy sniffing and drinking her chocolate shake.
"Let’s go," Nathaniel clicked his fingers to clean everything and leave things as they were before sighing at the girl and disappearing with the dean.
Meanwhile, Sebastian walked out to his office, and closed the door behind him, making Lucas look up from his desk.
"Sir -"
"Don’t utter a word," Sebastian flattened his palms on his table, closing his eyes as he took a deep calming breath, and Lucas closed his file and laptop, wanting to see and hear what it was that was making his prince work up.
Sebastian couldn’t believe it himself.
How could he? If he hadn’t controlled himself at the right time, what would’ve really happened? He growled. He really growled at her...
"I growled, Lucas," Sebastian said after a long pause.
Lucas raised his brows. "You must’ve had a good reason for that, sir," he tried to reason, and Sebastian ruffled his hair before taking off his mask and throwing it in the corner of the office.
"I growled when I was with her! When I was kissing her!" Sebastian turned to him, making Lucas widen his eyes when he saw the shade of hazel his prince’s eyes were.
Sebastian didn’t need to tell him what he was so worked about. Lucas understood it immediately.
"It’s not good, sir," Lucas whispered, keeping his respect in check, and Sebastian nodded.
"I know it’s not good. My devil side is showing more than ever, and this time it’s not showing because I want to kill someone or feel like it. It’s showing because my devil wants to devour her," Sebastian plopped on the seat, his hands on his face as he groaned in annoyance.
Lucas blushed. It was as if he was a teenager who heard something lewd that he wasn’t supposed to, and he bit the inside of his cheeks.
"Well, I don’t know what to say in that matter, sir," Lucas whispered, and Sebastian looked at him with thinned lips, his annoyance piquing.
"How many girls you have had in the past? Why can’t you say anything? You are so useless sometimes. Just tell me how to control my devil when I am with her," Sebastian said, and Lucas scowled at the useless comment.
"Well, if you are so horny around her why don’t you just claim her already?" Lucas scoffed before his eyes widened when he realized how disrespectful it sounded.
He looked down, ready for an insult, but when it didn’t come, he looked up.
"Is that what I should do? But the devil loves to taste her blood, make her cry, and then take away her pain. It’s complicated, and I don’t think she is ready for that kind of ritual. Besides, she is so petite. Will she really be able to accept all of me without breaking?" Sebastian was deep in thought.
Lucas - "..." He couldn’t believe it. His prince who was usually a decision-maker in just ten seconds was contemplating things so hard for the first time.
Besides, what did he say? Accept all of him? Was he talking about his strength? His lifelong desires, or his size? Lucas gulped, his gaze shifting down subconsciously.
"The fuck are you looking at!" Sebastian threw the files on his face, and Lucas widened his eyes.
"I am sorry, sir," He shouted in embarrassment before he rushed out of the office.
Sebastian groaned before kicking the chair away in annoyance.
