Chapter 286: The spell - Lass es Brennen

Sebastian grabbed Vincenzo’s overcoat and was about to pull him out of the canteen when Vincenzo held Elliana’s seat.

"What are you doing? Let go," Sebastian said, and Vincenzo smirked.

"Not without her," Vincenzo grinned, making Sebastian take a deep breath.

"What are you doing, Elliana? Here, give me your number. Let’s talk later," Vincenzo winked at Elliana, and she scrunched her nose as she looked at him, making Sebastian sigh and shake his head.

"What are you looking here for? Continue with your food. Or do you want me to take it away? Stupid girl," Sebastian said before he grabbed Vincenzo’s phone and pushed it in his chest.

"Are you enjoying annoying me?" Sebastian ran his hand through his hair.

"Alcinder, Daniel, you guys said you would give me some pointers on the herbs. Can we go now? Melony, call your boyfriend too. He will have some good insights," Elliana stood from her place, looking at Mr. Marino and Vincenzo before shaking her head.

Sebastian watched her leave the canteen, and as soon as she did that he looked at his brother before sighing.

"What are you doing here?" Vincenzo asked.

"Don’t you know? I sponsored the laboratory here. Today is the first day of that. I had to see how everything was going and things were set up," Sebastian said, looking at Vincenzo.

"Why were you bothering her in the University? Don’t you know we are hiding her identity?" Sebastian asked as they walked towards the back of the forest.

"Well, I didn’t have any idea you would be coming here. I thought you would be busy with the Siren’s case. Dad asked me to go and visit the site of the rogue vampire attack.

You said Elliana was grabbed by one of the rogue vampires, and that’s how you came to know about them, so I was hoping she could give me some insights. But she didn’t budge from her place," Vincenzo shrugged.

Vincenzo only told him the partial truth.

The real reason he was here was because the sketch artist had created the sketch of Galicia using the memories of that bartender. And now he wanted to ask Elliana if she remembered anything about her mouth or if she recognized her or not.

It might just be his theory, but from the moment he has heard the story of Galicia, it feels like Elliana wasn’t the real illegitimate Princess. She was someone else. And if that was the case, how did she do she remain unnoticed by the royals?

They must’ve done a DNA test for sure. How did she surpass it? And why would anyone send her to the hunter bloodline until they have a feud with them?

Then again, from what he had heard, Elliana’s life was nothing less than hell there. So the chances might be, that Galicia threatened Elliana’s real mother with something, and this girl is paying for those sins.

Knowing the truth was important, but it was more important to hide it because as soon as the word would go out, they wouldn’t think twice before throwing her out of the kingdom, and he didn’t want that to happen to his friend whom he cherished so much.

It has only been now that he has found her. How can he let go of her so soon?

His thoughts about Sebastian were still unclear.

It was true that Sebastian was acting quite intimate with Elliana, but what if Victoria was right, and all of this was just a plan to get to the throne?

What if as soon as he’ll find that Elliana isn’t related to the hunter’s bloodline, he sends her away? No. He can’t afford it. Vincenzo sighed before looking at the back of Elliana who was walking to the biotechnology building.

"You should’ve informed me beforehand rather than just coming here. You know how things are among vampires and other species. I don’t want anyone to target her," Sebastian said, remembering he had yet to ask her how she got those rogues to agree with her and attack the rogue vampires with her.

After a couple of hours, Elliana walked out of the laboratory, looking at her handwatch.

It was almost time for her witch powers training. She sighed, trying her best to calm her raging heart which was pounding with excitement.

As she turned around the corner, someone grabbed her hand, and she turned around with raised brows.

Glow smiled, looking at her hopefully.

Elliana sighed and nodded at her, understanding what the girl wanted from her.

"Fine. Do what you want. I am not angry anymore. You do know you are acting a bit creepy with all these stares, right? It’s giving me shivers now. And I am serious this time," Elliana scowled.

"I am sorry. I just want you to know you’ll always have us, and just like how you have protected us in our harsh times, we will protect you too," Glow signed to Elliana.

Elliana hummed.

"Well, your protection is going a bit overboard now. Have you told Marcello about what I look like? If he comes here next, I swear I’ll lose my shit and kick you all where it will hurt the most, okay?" Elliana smiled sweetly, and Glow looked at her awkwardly.

"I haven’t," Glow signed.

"Good," Elliana nodded.

When Glow kept looking at her Elliana rolled her eyes.

"What do you want now?" She asked, looking at her watch again.

Glow turned around and pointed at her back, making Elliana look at the girl before she smiled and shook her head at her.

She stepped ahead and patted Glow’s back.

"Good work. I am proud of you," Elliana smiled, and Glow beamed at her before turning around and leaving.

The smile on Elliana’s face immediately dropped as soon as Glow left.

This wasn’t good.

Her girls have started to develop attachment issues. This way they would find out about her royalty soon, and when she would get divorced they would become rebellious against the royals and might do things that would get all of them in trouble.

Elliana squared her jaws.

Her problems were only increasing these days. It’s almost as if everyone has made it a thing to expose her.

She walked to the terrace where Nathaniel had asked he would come to pick her up.

As soon as Elliana stepped on the terrace, she found herself in a different realm.

It was almost like she got teleported through some kind of portal.

"You are here," Nathaniel turned around in his seat, and Elliana looked around, shivering a little at the cold air.

"What is this magic? I stepped on the terrace, so how come I am standing here now? Was it your doing?" Elliana looked around amazed, touching the ice and everything with a surprised and excited look.

"Hmm... before starting we need to get you admitted to the witch’s school. Since you can’t get your identity exposed, I’ll admit you to the school for disabled people so that no one questions why you don’t ooze witch’s vibes. We can counter it by saying it’s your disability," Nathaniel said, and Elliana nodded.

He looked at her excited girl and sighed. He just hoped by training her magic, he wasn’t just fastening the process of her powers overtaking slowly.

"But before that, I want you to come here and read this book and perform a basic spell. Let me see which grade arena I need you to get in," Nathaniel pointed to the book and Elliana shifted her gaze to it.

In the middle of the table, the book that he had snatched from Gertrude was placed neatly. The dirty cover of the book, making it look even more ancient and as appealing as ever.

Nathaniel saw Elliana walking to the ancient book and opening it gently.

Since he was a mixed-breed witch, he could read the texts in the book, but he couldn’t perform any spell, no matter how much he tried.

"How would I know which one is the most basic? And do I chant it? It’s written in a weird language," Elliana complained, and Nathaniel pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Just choose one and do what it says," Nathaniel said, and Elliana turned to him with a pout before scowling.

She randomly opened a page and read the weird writing that was hard to decipher.

She raised her hand in the air before looking at Nathaniel, who was looking at her in anticipation, and gulped.

"It will help us decide the grade too. Do it,"

"Lass es Brennen," she said.

Nathaniel waited for something to happen. He looked around with hopeful eyes, but when nothing happened, he sighed.

"Maybe it’s not for you. I uselessly had my hopes up for -" he paused, his gaze darkening as he rushed to the window, his eyes widening in shock at what he saw.

The entire forest in front of him was burning with loud flames of fire that looked like they wanted to reach the sky.

The fuck did she chant?

Nathaniel walked to the book.

"Let it burn," He read again.

Just a simple basic-level spell, but in Elliana’s hands even it was a destructive chant.

It looked like things were tougher than he had thought.
