The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 272: Who was the enemy?

Chapter 272: Who was the enemy?

"Elliana, sweety, how are you feeling now?" Ruth asked in her overly sweet voice, and Elliana, who had heard of her intentions when she had read Miss Zoya’s thoughts, pressed her lips into a thin line.

Anyone would believe this lady was a good person and your well-wishers if you didn’t know what goes inside her head.

"I am feeling much better. Thank you for asking," Elliana walked towards the main hall.

"Is Mr. Marino not here?" She asked, looking around, and Angelo who was passing by, ruffled her hair, making her look at him with raised horrified eyes.

"Angelo, what is this behavior? Is this how you treat a lady?" Carla scowled at him, and he smirked.

"Mom, she is barely a girl," Angelo grinned.

"Your Mr. Marino is having a meeting with the king about the sirens that have been lurking on the borders. He will be late. Do you want me to relay some kind of message?" Angelo wriggled his brows, and Elliana smiled awkwardly before shaking her head.

"Stop bothering her, Angelo. Elliana, come here. Have some fun with us," Matilda invited Elliana to their table, and she nodded before walking to them.

Elliana looked at their glasses and seeing them causally sipping blood, she lowered her gaze to her foot.

Everything here reminds her of how Mr. Marino has been the best with her and respects her species even when he practically hates them. Not once did he drink any kind of blood in front of her knowing all too well that it would make her uncomfortable.

They call him a monster when he is the sweetest man she knows.

"Does blood make you uncomfortable?" Scarlet asked, and Elliana looked into her eyes before smiling.

"No, it doesn’t. It’s just with Mr. Marino, he never makes me feel that he is a vampire of the highest character, and I am a mere human. He treats me like himself and forbids anyone in the palace to use blood in front of me. But coming here was definitely an eye-opener," Elliana answered curtly.

"Well, if you want, we can banish everyone from drinking blood here too when you are around," Marcus walked inside the palace, and Elliana turned to him.

She had thought he would be angry at her for using so many tricks on him, but seeing how he was still smiling, she didn’t know how to react to it.

"Are you okay?" He walked to her and grabbed her hand, examining it before nodding to himself.

"Here," Marcus handed her a small bag.

Elliana raised her brows at him.

"Brother, where were you? Grandpa was asking about you. He said he wanted to see the face of the prince who lost against the human princess," Angelo grinned.

Marcus hummed at him before shifting his gaze back to Elliana.

"The bag contains some herbs that you can use to get well soon. They will heal the wound at a much quicker pace. Apply them to your wounds before sleeping tonight, okay?" Marcus asked, and Elliana nodded at him, surprised how all the princes were so polite to her.

"Regarding how I lost, I think it has a lot to do with her beauty," Marcus nodded at Elliana, making slight heat creep her neck as he walked towards the staircase.

Angelo walked to Elliana before looking inside the bag.

"Brother Marcus is really good with herbs. You can trust him. These are not even available here. I am sure he searched the entire forests owned by the forest minister for these herbs," Angelo smiled before he flicked her nose and followed his brother, leaving her in a trans.

If all of them were so good, who exactly was the enemy of Mr. Marino? Why were they treating her any differently if they hated Mr. Marino? Was it just because of the peace treaty? Or was she some kind of delicate person to him they wanted to handle with care?

The more she interacted with these guys the more complicated and messed up her opinion of them was becoming.

"Come and sit here. We will change the blood with water and juices," Carla said, glaring at the girls, and they rolled their eyes before nodding.

Meanwhile, Victoria looked at the girl who was smiling so politely, and an idea popped into her head.

Since her brother is so adamant about telling everyone that they are a cute loving couple, how about she helps her brother a little? Victoria smiled and walked to the kitchen where the drinks were being prepared.

She looked at the clean water that was probably taken for the human princess and added a few drops of the liquid that she knew would do the work.

Victoria went back to the table and sat with a satisfied smile on her face.

"What would you like, Princess?" The Maid asked as she brought the tray to the living room.

"I...uh... "

"Better just take water. Who knows what will happen to you if you take any alcoholic drinks? Sebastian is going to blame us again," Victoria commented.

Elliana scowled inwardly before extending her hand towards the glass of water, but at the last second, she changed her mind and chose the juice, making Victoria grit her teeth.

Meanwhile, on the first floor, in the main office, Sebastian glared at his grandfather.

"Don’t give me these bullshit reasons, Grandfather. You very well knew about the rogue vampires. Don’t you have one locked inside the cells too? I am sure you have since Intel on sirens too, " Sebastian asked, his eyes turning red, and Abramo looked away.

"Sebastian, we are talking about sirens. Why are you bringing rogue vampires in between?" Stephano asked.

"Me and my team fought 200 rogue vampires alone. Do you know what can happen if they start attacking the vampires in the kingdom? You knew about it too, didn’t you, Stephano?" Sebastian rose from his seat, remembering how his team was on the verge of dying and the little family he built out of the royals would’ve been swiped clean by those rogues.

He was angry beyond control. He can understand that the royals wanted to keep him out of politics because they were still against his becoming the king, but how could they hide this?

He thought he would provide information about what Maze told him, but the royals already knew about it.

Not only that, it looks like Prince Harry was colluding with humans to create the rogue vampires, and because of that, the chances are, there were hundreds of more rogue vampires in the state that they didn’t know anything about.

"Damn it!" Sebastian roared when none of them said anything to counter the accusations he was making. He kicked his chair making it hit the window and fall on the ground, while the brothers flinched slightly as they noticed his fangs starting to trace.

"Sebastian, calm the fucking down! You can’t show your fangs to your brothers!" Abramo wanted Sebastian, holding his collar.

However, to his surprise, Sebastian held Abramo’s hand and was about to react when they heard a voice they hadn’t thought they would in the meeting room.

"Tian, you jerk!" Elliana hiccupped as she stood at the entrance of the meeting room, and Abramo immediately looked at Vincenzo and Stephano to get the human girl out of Sebastian’s sight, or he might end up killing her.

Sebastian turned to her, his eyes dark red, almost turning black as his fangs retraced. He looked at her observantly, her slightly red flushed cheeks, as she blinked with her brows narrowed, making him raise his brows at her.

His devil side was in control and still not provoked, and the anger he was feeling immediately started to calm when he heard her giggle.

He noticed how Vincenzo tried to hold her hand, but she jerked his hand away.

"I am fine," She hiccuped before she stumbled ahead, walking to Sebastian.

"Don’t," Sebastian’s voice was low, and it was hard to know who he was talking to. Was he talking to his brothers to not touch her, or was he talking to Elliana to not approach him?

"Tian, you little piece of shit. You are a liar. I told you to not inform Mr. Marino about anything, but you did. You are such a...such.. such a bad man that I have no words," Elliana jabbed her finger in his chest, looking at him with a wronged expression, and Sebastian tilted his head when realization dawned upon him.

He wasn’t wearing his mask.

"Go back to your room," Sebastian said, and Elliana shook her head.

"No! I won’t. I have to talk to you today. You come with me," Elliana jumped in her place to grab his collar, and everyone looked at the daring girl with raised brows.

Vincenzo who was most worried about her was about to step ahead and pull her away from Sebastian when he raised his hand to stop him.

He raised his hard and cold gaze, stopping everyone in their place.
