Chapter 232: Won’t let anyone harm her
Elliana looked at Alcinder with narrowed eyes.
"Were you eavesdropping on me?" She asked.
"You weren’t exactly quiet for someone who didn’t want the world to know what or who she was talking to," Alcinder said, making her sigh dejectedly before he stepped closer.
He had received his cousin’s call asking him about what was going on with the relations in the family, and Alcinder, who already felt he had had enough of the family drama, was here to calm his nerves without risking being caught by any teacher or dean.
He was done answering everyone the same questions and felt like hiding in the forest for a couple of days. He would have considered doing it if it hadn’t been for this so-called Blue project.
Alcinder was about to light his smoke because his body felt like it needed it right now to calm his nerves and raging heart when he heard Elliana’s distressed voice as she screamed at whoever person it was to not harm someone.
To say he was shocked would be an understatement. This was the first time he heard Eliana threatening someone like this. The last time she lost control of her emotions was when those boys in the forest had attacked her, and he had found her, stopping her from going behind them and hurting herself even more than she already was.
"Let’s not waste more time. I don’t understand what is going on with you, but I definitely understand that someone is in danger, and the kidnapper is asking you to show up to save her," Alcinder said.
"I don’t need your help," Elliana clenched her hands, her eyes quivering with fear and anger.
"I am sure you don’t, but I am also sure the person in danger doesn’t have much time. Think about it, Elliana. I am not going to force my help on you, but someone’s life is definitely more important than your truth or identity or ego or whatever you are trying to keep or protect," Alcinder said before he extended his hand for her to take.
Elliana looked at Alcinder’s hand and sighed.
Things were only messing up for her, and the more she tried to solve everything and keep things under control, the more complicated they were becoming.
Everything was going alright. When the hell did things start to take a negative turn?
She gulped. It wasn’t like she was left with much choice. She will have to take someone’s help either way, but still, it is better to take the help of a person who knows and trusts her rather than someone who has been suspicious of her from the first day, right? Elliana nodded at herself.
"I will ask Dexter to lend me his bike. Thank you for your concern- Woah!" Elliana widened her eyes when he suddenly pulled her with a jerk and picked her in his arms.
"Let’s get your bag first," Alcinder said as he rushed to the class. He placed her down when he noticed the dean doing rounds.
Luckily, the bell rang, and they breathed a sigh of relief.
"What are you guys doing here?" the dean asked them and sighed.
"Taking a 5-minute break?" He asked, and Elliana nodded.
"Yes, sir," She said in the most polite and innocent voice she could muster at the moment with all the distress, and Alcinder looked at her with raised brows.
So this is the trick that she uses to make people believe her. He nodded at himself before nodding at the dean to say that was indeed the case with them.
"Okay. Don’t stay out for too long. The professor is on their way already," The dean said and left.
Alcinder turned to look at the dean before heaving a sigh of relief.
"Let’s not take my bag right now. It would be better if people think I am in the University only. Dexter will take my bag if we don’t return at the time," Elliana said, and Alcinder hummed.
"Let’s go then," He bent and picked her in his arms once again before he jumped down from the backside of the corridor, making Elliana widen her eyes in shock. Their class was not on the first floor. It was on the fourth floor, for crying out loud.
"Alcinder!" Elliana yelled.
"What? Do you want me to waste my time with the staircase? We don’t have time, remember?" Alcinder used his vampire speed to cover the parking lot before he quickly put her inside his car.
"Quickly, put on the seat belt and tell me the location," Alcinder said, his hands freezing on the wheel momentarily when he heard what the location was.
"Is everything okay? I can still take Dexter’s -" Elliana started, but Alcinder started the car and accelerated out of the university, making Elliana dial the man’s number who had called her. However, no matter how much she tried, he didn’t pick up the call.
They didn’t have much time. How to tackle the situation, hide herself, everything needed to be thought about, she needed to do it now only.
It was all her fault. Elliana clenched her hands.
If she had taken up on Marcello’s suggestion and sent the girls out of this city for some days, nothing like that would’ve happened. It was she who neglected their security even after being warned. Those girls trust her blindly, and do everything they can to appease her. They never denied any kind of project, no matter how risky it was. It was all her fault that she got them in this mess. Elliana scratched her hand uneasily.
No. Right now wasn’t the time to think about all that useless stuff. She should come up with a plan instead.
She won’t let anything happen to the girl. If someone even dared to touch her inappropriately, she would ensure to destroy the entire group of those bastards and their leaders. She will chop them off and throw their pieces into the lake.
Elliana clenched her hands.
The more she thought about the scenario, the more angrier she became. She looked at her phone and was about to call Marcello to find out if the girls weren’t panicking too much when the car jerked, and her phone fell down.
"I am sorry," Alcinder murmured as he drove as fast as he could.
He could feel the vibes around Elliana changing, the same strange vibes that had made him wonder if she was really a human when he met her for the first time and suspected her.
He didn’t know who those people were and how important they were to her, but he could see the anxiousness in her eyes.
As soon as Elliana bent to pick up her phone, Sebastian’s car, in which he was sitting on the backside leisurely, thinking about all the things Maze said and going to meet his wife, appeared on the adjacent lane.
"What are you doing?" Sebastian asked when the car jerked violently.
"I am sorry, sir, but the car in front," Ambrose didn’t continue his words, knowing all too well how much their prince hates excuses.
"Kids these days don’t have any sense of responsibility. Wasn’t that the council head’s son, driving so rashly," Lucas commented, and Sebastian lifted his gaze, looking at the car that passed them.
He could see someone’s silhouette in the shotgun seat, but the person was probably bending down.
He sighed, shaking his head. What does it have to do with him?
"That kid is only a few years younger than you," Sebastian commented before pulling out his phone and reading his wife’s message again.
She is growing too wishful and demanding, isn’t she? How can she just message something so bold just like that? She need him?
Doesn’t she know how deep this word entices the emotions? And to say she didn’t even complete her sentence.
Luckily, he knows her and how cute and shy she can be, or how would someone have interpreted it? Sebastian sighed, a corner in his heart feeling happy that his wife messaged him something like this.
