The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 225: Only if she wasn’t human

Chapter 225: Only if she wasn’t human

"Now that you have said these things, my heart is more at ease, and I know that I didn’t betray my prince by lying to him about whether I saw you there or not," Lucas said before he widened his eyes.

"Princess, why are you sitting on the ground? You shouldn’t be," he quickly helped her up, and she smiled sheepishly.

"Honestly, I am happy that you are by his side. You don’t need to worry about anything. Even if no one in this palace or kingdom supports or trusts you, you’ll always have my support," Lucas smiled at her.

"Thank you for everything you have done for me, Mr. Pabalo," Elliana smiled holding his hand between hers in gratitude that he wasn’t going to rat her out.

"And what exactly are you thankful for?" They heard a cold voice, and Lucas and Elliana turned to Sebastian, who was standing at the entrance of the room.

He looked at the duo with raised brows before his gaze shifted to Lucas’s hand between Elliana’s, and he looked back into his subordinate’s eyes who immediately recognized the dangerous vibes.

Lucas quickly removed his hand from Elliana’s grip before coughing to hide his awkwardness.

"What are you doing here?" Sebastian asked Lucas, and the subordinate, who didn’t have anything to tell, looked at his feet.

"I... I was merely intrigued by -"

"By?" Sebastian tilted his head as he walked to them, his every step closer to Lucas, making Lucas clench his hand harder as he felt the danger radiating from his prince’s body.

He remembered what the prince had done to that witch impersonating the vampire maid because she stole the princess’s attention and dared to touch her.

"By what I have called him here for," Elliana jumped in to save the situation, and Sebastian shifted his cold gaze to the princess.

"You called him here, Princess?" Sebastian asked, and Elliana nodded.

"I... I didn’t get the chance to talk to him because he is always busy with you. I actually wanted to give him something," Elliana walked to the dressing table before heaving a dejected breath.

"This, I wanted to give him this," Elliana walked back with a small pendant kind of thing.

It was beautifully designed. The hazel-colored crystal was wrapped in a steel wire, securing it in its place, and there was turquoise quartz around the steep wire which was wrapped in another round of wires. The string of the pendant was braided and had a rope-like appearance.

It was both beautiful and manly.

Sebastian looked at the crystal pendant in Elliana’s hand before his gaze shifted to her chest where he remembered a similar pendant was. The design wasn’t the same, but the crystals almost looked similar.

The more he looked at the pendant, the more his gaze darkened.

Lucas - "..." Why does it feel like the lie the princess brewed here wasn’t helping but making things worse? He thought.

"You are giving this pendant to him?" Sebastian nearly spat the last word, and Elliana smiled.

"I didn’t want to," she said, looking into his eyes.

"I bought this pendant for you when I went to the market on our first day on the trip. I found it similar to mine, and it looked beautiful. When I looked at it, you were the first person I thought of giving it to. That’s why I bought it," Elliana smiled.

"Then what changed your mind?" Sebastian asked, not liking how she was talking in the past tense.

"Then I came to know that you want to crush my heart with your bare hands," Elliana chuckled softly, and Sebastian’s gaze darkened even more.

"It would be such a waste to throw this pendant, and I can’t wear two. I could’ve given it to this one of my friends, but I wanted to give it to someone close to you, so even if you are not the one wearing it, I will be happy that it will stay close to you," Elliana smiled before extending her hand towards Lucas.

"Mr. Pabalo," she said, and Lucas looked at his prince.

Sebastian’s eyes were dark hazel and red tints were starting to appear in his eyes. His gaze screamed to Lucas - If you dared to pick that pendant in your hand, I’ll throw you down the hill and beat you into a pulp.

Lucas looked at Elliana.

He knew she was saying all this to save him from trouble so that he wouldn’t have to answer what he was doing here, but wasn’t she going a bit too far?

Does she not realize she was provoking the devil? And she was dragging him into this?!! Lucas gulped, feeling contemplated.

Why the hell did he think it was a good idea to come here and ask her these questions when Princess’s Mr. Marino was not busy? He bit his lower lip.

"Are you seriously doing this, princess? After everything, you are doing this? How can you? After using me like that last -" Sebastian couldn’t complete his sentence as Elliana widened her eyes and placed her hand on his mask.

Sebastian looked into her eyes with an amused expression.

"Mr. Marino!" Elliana hissed, and Lucas looked between his prince and princess before smiling.

"How can you say-" Elliana couldn’t complete her sentence as the pendant was taken away from her hand, and she looked at the person with raised brows.

"Out," Sebastian’s words were clear, and Lucas didn’t need to be told twice.

He rushed out of the room, closing the door behind him.

Sebastian looked at the pendant in his hand.

"Am I wrong? Didn’t you use me last night? Should I remind you of what you did?" Sebastian looked at her, and the more he was saying, the more shy she was becoming.

"I... I didn’t... I -" Elliana didn’t know what to say in this matter.

Sebastian sighed before looking at the pendant in his hand.

"So you thought that giving the thing that you bought for me to my subordinate was a good idea?" Sebastian asked, and Elliana looked away, feeling awkward now that Lucas had left.

"I... I didn’t think you would want to wear it," She licked her lower lips, and Sebastian smiled, all his anger dissipating into thin air.

"You weren’t thinking what I like or don’t like when you bit me so hard last night," Sebastian said, the blush on Elliana’s cheeks, making him smile.

He sighed and sat on the bed before pulling her to sit on his lap.

"Help me wear it," He whispered to her.

She was really happy that he was ready to wear it for her happiness. She nodded and placed the pendant, locking the strings around his neck.

"Does it look good?" Elliana asked, and Sebastian grabbed the string of her pendant before pulling it out from under her dress.

He looked at the mirror in front of them that reflected their almost matching pendants and smiled.

"It looks good," Sebastian smiled inside the mask

"Does it hurt?" Elliana placed her finger on the side of his neck where her bite mark was visible, and he looked at her observantly.

"No, it doesn’t. But I hope you have an explanation of what you were thinking about when you bit the youngest prince of the kingdom when you’re faced with the elders. We have to go to the party today evening, remember?" Sebastian asked, liking how her pupils dilated in shock and her face went red.

He can really do this all his life.

Sometimes, he can’t help but think how good it would have been if his princess was some other species. Honestly, though vampires hate werewolves with a passion, he wouldn’t have minded it if she was a werewolf.

But since she is human, things are so complicated.

Then again, if she hadn’t been a human, he wouldn’t have met her either.
