Chapter 157: How Vincenzo met Glory (Part-1)

As much as Sebastian loved hearing her response, he also knew that she was just a human who would be the easiest target for everyone to threaten him. He has pissed his family members enough and didn’t want people to come for her now.

She was like his prized possession and he would definitely not like it if someone as much as dared to touch her hair. He will rain havoc on them.

"Vincenzo, she is -"

"Pardon my manners, Princess. You just sounded like someone I met a couple of years ago," Vincenzo said, and Elliana’s hand clenched around her dress, barely maintaining her facade.

"I sound like many women, so I have been told. Are you not being too much by using these pickup lines on your sister-in-law? " Elliana replied, and Sebastian pressed his lips into a thin line, barely controlling his laughter.

He was just kidding earlier. He can’t be with her insults.

Remind him to not tell her who is the bad man or bad woman around him next time or she would go around insulting people without a filter on her mouth.

"Huh, Princess -" Sebastian started.

"You are funny, Princess. I would love to meet you soon. Now that I have talked to you, let me formally invite you to the elder sister’s birthday party. It would be our pleasure to meet you and attend to you," Vincenzo’s polite reply surprised Sebastian.

He didn’t sound like the same man who would retort back with an even more snarky insult.

Vincenzo was nothing like Stephano. He has always taken disrespect seriously. Wasn’t that exactly why he was against Sebastian now? Because Sebastian messed with his security system to get the footage even after getting rejected.

So for Vincenzo to act like this even when the princess indirectly insulted him twice, what the hell was going on inside his mind?

"That’s kind of you, Mr. Vincenzo. It would be a pleasure meeting you too," Elliana said, and Vincenzo’s brows quirked again.

Why was he feeling like this again and again? Almost similar voice, the same attitude of insulting first and becoming humble the other second, the politeness in her voice paired with the quick wittiness, everything was the same.

"That’s great. I can’t wait to meet you," Vincenzo said before ending the call.

He took a deep breath with his hand over his heart to calm it down.

He couldn’t bear to maintain his facade anymore. It was hard. How could a girl act and sound just like her? The girl he thought died a year ago?

Vincenzo closed his eyes and leaned on the wall, beside his balcony door.

A small smile appeared on his face when he remembered how he met Glory two years ago.

It was the time when he had returned after meeting the Dukes of North East Africa and was wounded terribly. His grandpa had asked for his immediate presence, without even caring and asking about his wellbeing.

And as the royal prince, he was complied to do so.

That time, he had left all his people far behind because he wanted to hurry up. In the middle of the junction which led to the human kingdom and vampire kingdom, his car had some technical issues, and he was forced to stop.

The technician said it would take two hours to service the car and get it running smoothly on the road again.

Vincenzo could’ve taken the cab or waited for his men, and he was about to do that when he heard that voice.

The voice that was humming in the forest. A voice so soothing and peaceful.

It surprised him, but what surprised him, even more, was that he was standing in the middle of nowhere, so who was stupid enough to be humming a song here which can attract anyone’s attention?

Could it be sirens? But why would they come to this part of the area knowing all too well that vampires are regulars on this path?

It was curiosity that took Vincenzo to the middle of the forest where he met Glory for the first time. She was humming with her hand playing with the water of the lake.

She was a human.

"Hey, what are you doing here, human?" Vincenzo asked, not knowing how to address her.

"Is this how you talk to other species? Human girl, wolf girl, witch girl?" The girl asked him, least bothered with his presence.

"I am not here to play games with you. What are you doing here? Don’t you know how dangerous this part of the city is?" Vincenzo asked, stepping closer to her with narrowed eyes.

He could see that she was very much aware of his presence and probably his species too, but the calmness of her heartbeat drew him in.

Why wasn’t she afraid of him?

"This dangerous part of the city that you call it is the most peaceful area for me. So pardon me if I don’t give a damn about your opinion or concern as a matter of fact," That girl turned to look at him, shocking him.

Who was she?

Not even one inch of her face was visible because of how well she had covered it. She looked like a cast of the mummy movie.

"Are you a spy?" Vincenzo couldn’t help but ask, his hand reaching for his dagger, and the girl chuckled, shocking him.

Why was she laughing at a time like this? Was she insane? Or probably a psycho who doesn’t care about their lives?

"You are a strong vampire. Do you really need that toy to kill me?" She had said before motioning for him to come to her.

"You are quite wounded. Let me treat your wounds. They’ll heal faster," The girl said.

"You know I am a vampire. Don’t you know what will heal me faster?" Vincenzo smirked, trying to contain his emotions that were going soft for this strange girl.

"You don’t bite the hand that feeds and treat you, Mr. Vampire," she said with amusement in her voice, surprising Vincenzo again.

She was acting so rude just a second ago and now she wants to treat him? What was this? Multiple personality disorder or bipolar behavior?

He didn’t want to go to her. She was the most suspicious human he has ever met, and what was even more suspecting was that, she was drawing him towards her without even trying.

Vincenzo saw her walking to some distance and plucking some leaves and herbs before she walked back to him.

She placed the herbs in the middle of her palm before rubbing her thumb on it to make a paste-like thing, and without asking for his permission, she inched closer to him before packing that paste on his forehead, his biggest wound.

He looked at the girl, whose face was completely hidden and her eyes hidden with the goggles.

He couldn’t control his hand and let his intrusive thoughts win. He pulled her goggles away from her face and looked into those surprised eyes.

"I..." She turned around immediately as if not wanting to let him see her, and he gulped.

Her eyes were so beautiful that be couldn’t react for a good few seconds.

"I am sorry. I just felt like I deserved to see at least the eyes of the person who was treating me," Vincenzo placed the goggles back on the ground, surprising himself with his gentlemanly behavior.
