"I understand. After all, he is paid for it," Daniel murmured before holding her hand, and Sebastian was about to jerk away Daniel’s hand when Lucas held his hand, making him stop.

"Sir, what are you doing?" Lucas whispered to Sebastian.

"You can’t act so protectively with her here. She is not your property,"

"So you want me to let some random dude hold her hand and take her anywhere without a problem? In what language does it look or seem alright? I am her bodyguard," Sebastian said, and Lucas nodded.

"Exactly my point, sir. You are her bodyguard, not her Mr. Marino here. Your job is to protect her from any harm, not come between her love life- I mean friendship," Lucas quickly eased his words to not offend Sebastian and provoke this protective nature inside him more than he already was.

"Whatever. I am not letting any random dude near her. Even if he is her friend, he should know to keep his hands to himself. She is married -"

"Which others don’t know," Lucas added.

"Right. I think that’s the problem. Why has the princess not told anyone that she is married? Even if she can’t reveal the identity of her husband, she can at least tell everyone that she is married, can’t she? I think all problems arise from this one single thing," Sebastian hummed to himself, and Lucas looked at his prince before sighing.

He doesn’t know why, but he has a strong premonition that this trip is going to be a hell of a lot more interesting and scary than he had imagined.
