Chapter 114: Good obedient wife

"What are they talking about?" Victoria nudged Stephano, and he looked at her with an annoyed expression.

"Do you think I can hear anything if you aren’t able to? He took her there to speak in private for a reason," Stephano said.

"I know, but Grandpa, did you see how Sebastian manhandled her? I don’t think he is really treating her right. Even if we can’t hear what they are talking about, don’t deny that your sharp vampire senses can sense her fast-pumping blood. She is nervous or scared around him, and why would she feel that again?" Victoria asked.

Though Stephano knew that Victoria doesn’t really like Sebastian, the way she was portraying things was quite annoying. He wanted to prove Sebastian wrong too, but jumping to the conclusions like this without proof was like hitting your foot with a hammer.

He has done this before too, and every time he comes out wrong. Stephano looked at the couple and noticed how Sebastian held her hand and pushed her on the wall.

"Grandpa, don’t you think you should interfere?" Victoria asked, and Abramo was about to call for Sebastian when they saw Sebastian shuffling and raising his hand.

Was he griping her chin? Why would he do that? Was he intimidating her?

"Why didn’t you treat your wounds before coming downstairs? Don’t you know that they might cause septic? I am a vampire, and I feel like I know more about how to care for a human than you do," Sebastian sighed, and Elliana looked down at her feet before smiling at him cutely.

"I forgot. Hehe," Elliana said, and Sebastian narrowed his eyes.

"Acting cute won’t work on me. You will go with Miss Zoya now and apply some ointment, okay?" Sebastian asked, and he was about to turn when Elliana held his overcoat.

He looked at her with raised brows.

"Your collar was crooked," She patted his collar after evening it before looking at him when she noticed how close she stepped to him.

"Thank you. Keep what I said in your mind. Or I have other ways to make you obey me," He touched her lips with his knuckles, and heat immediately rushed to Elliana’s face, remembering their passionate kiss in the room.

Sebastian nodded at the satisfactory reaction from her and turned around before holding her hand.

He took her back to the couch where everyone was sitting.

"Pardon my interruption earlier," Sebastian said and looked at Elliana, who nodded and sat on the bigger couch with him.

Everyone gazed at the girl, whose face was red for some reason.

What did Sebastian say? Did he threaten her in the corner? They wanted to know but didn’t dare to ask it directly.

"Geez, what was so important that you had to take her to the corner to talk? You could’ve talked to her here too. It’s not like we are some outsiders," Victoria commented, and Sebastian leaned back in his seat.

"It’s better to keep it private between husband and wife. Not everyone has an open relationship like you, sister," Sebastian smirked, and Victoria’s eyes started turning red again.

"This is the second time you are commenting on something you shouldn’t, Sebastian. Don’t test the waters with me," Victoria’s fangs started to show a little, and Elliana, who didn’t know the hidden meaning behind Sebastian’s words, narrowed her eyes.

"Mrs. Victoria, I think you are taking Mr. Marino’s words wrongly. He just wanted to say that our relationship isn’t exactly as publicly active as other couples in the family. It hasn’t even been one month since our marriage, so he is shy about some things," Elliana said, and Stephano suppressed the urge to laugh out loud at the human girl’s choice of words.

Is Sebastian shy? This has to be the biggest joke of the century.

"Is that true, brother?" Stephano couldn’t let go of this moment to tease his youngest brother who is known for his dangerous nature, and Sebastian looked at his little human wife helplessly.

Did she really need to use the word shy?

"My wife is right. I am shy about things. I don’t like making everything public, especially our relationship," Sebastian didn’t refute Elliana’s words nonetheless, and it was enough for Abramo to nod in satisfaction.

They didn’t know what happened in that corner, but seeing how Sebastian was siding with his wife when everyone in the room knows he is anything but shy, was quite new for him, not to mention how he took care of her when she was scared.

Maybe they were thinking too much about things.

Elliana smiled shyly at his sentences, remembering what he said a few minutes ago.

"Please have something," Elliana said as soon as the chef and Miss Zoya started placing the snacks on the table.

Seeing the glasses filled with red liquid and the same smell she was very well used to, Elliana’s hand on her thighs froze, but she quickly masked it.

Of course, what else can she expect from the vampire’s snacks? They would obviously drink blood in place of juice like humans.

However, Sebastian, who was sitting close to her, immediately sensed her discomfort. He looked at her right hand which was slightly clenching her dress and looked at Miss Zoya, who placed the tray of the blood-filled glasses on the table.

Miss Zoya immediately understood what the prince wanted to say and bowed in apology.

"Go and get your wounds treated. Miss Zoya will help you put on some ointment," Sebastian said, and Elliana was about to stand from her place when Victoria’s sarcastic laugh stopped her.

"Come on, brother. You are not for real, are you? You are seriously bending her away because there is blood on the table?" Victoria asked, catching on to things quickly like always, and Sebastian smiled.

"If you have forgotten, Elliana is human, and she is my wife," Sebastian said.

"That’s exactly what I am talking about, Sebastian. She is the wife of a vampire royal. She would’ve learned to get used to people drinking blood around her. Or do you guys not use blood when she is around? That’s quite strange," Victoria smirked.

"It’s okay. I can stay," Elliana said, and Sebastian looked at the girl, who was doing her best to cooperate, and narrow his eyes at his sister.

"Things are pretty simple, sister. Why are you making them complicated? Grandpa wanted me to fall in love with my wife when he married me to a human girl. You can’t pretend to be a cow lover when you like beef so much.

Do you know why I was the chosen one?" Sebastian asked, leaning forward and showing them his dark red eyes that stiffened the smile on Victoria’s face.

"Luckily, I don’t drink human blood. And I hope I don’t need to specify what I drink and eat to survive and stay strong," Sebastian smirked inside the mask.

Though they were only able to look into his eyes, those eyes were enough for them to stop commenting on this topic.

"Go and get your wounds treated. We have something important to discuss regarding some vampires. I am sure it will only bore you," Sebastian said, and Elliana nodded like a good wife before standing from her place.

Stephano looked at her feet which had multiple scratch marks and sighed. Maybe Sebastian wasn’t pretending this time, and Victoria was uselessly finding trouble with him.
