Rui's eyes were filled with awareness.

His expression became one of profound knowledge.

He got up from his little medical bed, alerting the myriad surveillance measures that were put in place to watch over him every second of every day.

He gazed at his hands with a deep gaze before closing his eyes as his hands balled into tight fists, drawing upon his power for the first time in more than a year.

A faint hint of displeasure flashed in his pitch-black eyes when he opened them.

The door opened as several Martial Masters rushed in with gaping expressions as they beheld his awakened presence.

Their eyes were as jubilant as they were desperate.

Their body language spoke to the sheer ecstasy they experienced at witnessing him awake and well after what was a long, long time to them. Nothing short of ten Martial Master bodyguards had been put in place to protect him at all times, since not even Rui could justify taking a Martial Sage out of the battlefield, given the sheer depths of the calamity that they were dealing with.

Their voices shook as they choked with emotion, barely managing to squeeze out a respectful greeting as they beheld his extraordinary presence.

The tension in the air was heavy.

The silence was deafening.

He regarded them with a deep gaze before closing his eyes softly.

A single command escaped him.

"Unfold the manifold at this very moment."

His tone was unyielding.

It contained a measure of drive.

A measure of certainty.

A measure of inevitability.

There were only two people in the entire world to whose world alone was enough.

Within minutes, they commenced the elaborate manifold opening protocols, rapidly ensuring that everything was in place.

"Commencing manifold transit opening." A voice from the speakers announced.

The world shook as the manifold unfolded, releasing a wave through the very fabric of space and time that washed over the entire Empire.

"Your Majesty!" one of the Martial Masters broke out of their gaping reverie, remembering the urgent need they had of him. "You must hear me! The world is—!"

Rui's powerful voice cleaved through the Martial Master's desperate plea.

His tone was certain.

His voice was confident.

He exuded an extraordinary sense of foreboding inevitability.

He opened his pitch-black eyes, gazing deeply into the eyes of the frantic Martial Master with a profound tranquility and power.

The Martial Master gazed at him with an astonished expression.

His words should have been impossible.

How could he have possibly fathomed what had unfolded in the world when he was in a coma, isolated from the world inside the Kandrian Manifold?

And yet, the unyielding certainty in his voice was impenetrable.

He closed his eyes, basking in a Sun that was slightly hotter than he remembered his entire life.

The profound environmental effects of the Unfolding were not a central focus of the Panamic Alliance, not because they weren't significant, but simply because the invasion of the true world was far more dire.

His eyes slowly opened.

They were filled with a profound tranquility.

Profound tranquility and profound, unfathomable power.

The world shook as a flood of energy from deep, deep within his body surged through his body.

The very fabric of heaven and earth shook as he activated his astronomical microcosm of a Martial Mind. If not for the fact that he showed mercy upon the world around him, he would have instantly genocided all life on Kandria.

His existence seemed to change at its very root as a tsunami of water emerged from deep within its depths.

It washed over the entirety of the Kandrian Empire and beyond as what would have been a lethal wave of mental destruction was filtered and diluted to be no more than a gentle, warm, and tranquil river of water that submerged the entirety of the Empire protectively.

"This…!"

"It's water!"

"It's the power of His Highness!"

"The Dawnbringer has returned!"

"He is here to protect us!"

The people of the Kandria erupted with ecstasy and delight as Rui's gentle, warm Embodiment brushed past all of them protectively and affectionately.

And yet, he wasn't done.

An avalanche of materia prima emerged from the very root of his being as he drew upon the full power of his Martial Soul.

He would need all his power for what he was about to do.

For what he knew he would need to do.
