The Martial Unity
Chapter 3106: New Home

The evolutionary leader's adaptive evolution strategy against her was simple. Her extraordinary mastery gave her a supreme physical capacity that was impossible to combat head-on, even for him.

Thus, Anthea sought to tap into the highest principles of nature that negated the very concept of physicality.

Severing one's connection with a quantum field was extraordinarily difficult and energy expensive, and yet, it was worth it when dealing with a physical monster freak that he couldn't defeat any other way.

Amare charged at him with absurdly blinding speeds, almost exceeding his ability to react.

And yet, it didn't matter.

Her attacks were meaningless.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!

She gritted her teeth as her body passed through his effortlessly, but that wasn't even the worst part. The worst part was that not needing to focus on defense allowed him to launch a counter-offensive that was much more rapid and than it would have otherwise been.

SPLAT!

Her eyes widened as his arm impaled her body.

It reached straight for her heart, ripping it out with force.

SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT!

He didn't even bother giving her a second glance, simply surging forth towards the siege weapons with great urgency, threatening to destroy them before they destroyed his base.

Alas, things weren't going to work out so easily for him.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

CRACK CRACK CRACK!!!

His eyes widened with shock as a thundering kick battered his entire body from behind, breaking half his bones and catching him off guard. His attention turned only to spot Amare entirely restored and perfectly fine as her eyes blazed with determination and willpower.

He couldn't have known that she had consumed a Healing Fruit from the Tree of Healing before she confronted him.

The Emperor of Harmony wasn't a fool.

The fact that Anthea could make short work of a Transcendent Candidate was more than enough of a caution that he couldn't just send one without any boost to event the playing field. Almost a month had passed since the Unfolding and that meant that meant that they had regained a scant few precious fruits that could be used to empower their greatest warriors in their time of need.

Perhaps a Transcendent Candidate was no match for the leader of the Evolutionary Army.

And yet, surely one with a healing fruit was.

Their opponent was no ordinary foe, however.

Amare knew that she couldn't let her guard down.

"I see."

His alien voice sent chills across her skin.

"This must be the magic of exotic matter."

The air boiled with power as his ephemeral gray eyes shone with extraordinary power.

"I wonder how strong I will become when I harness this power."

His tone was one of anticipation.

"But for that, I will need to dispatch of you and this siege," he surged forth with great power and ferocity as he charged at Amare, rapidly adaptively evolving to her Martial Art.

BOOOOOOOOM BOOOOOOOOM BOOOOOOOOM BOOOOOOOOM BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

The battle between them shook the world as she struggled to inflict even a single wound on him. Severing his connection with the Higgs Field allowed him to entirely negate her offense, reducing the probability of her victory to almost zero, especially since she wasn't a major buff with non-physical means of attack like hypnosis.

And yet, keeping him stalled on her was fine. In his intangible state, he couldn't simply destroy the siege weapons effortlessly.

The longer the siege weapons continued firing away at the base of the Evolutionary Army, the more they succeeded in their objective of slowing down their aggressive expansion.

Her eyes blazed with willpower as she fought for nearly an hour for the sole sake of keeping him occupied.

That was what they were limited to.

With invasions from many other powerful civilizations and many more less powerful civilizations, they couldn't afford to gather all their power to focus on the Evolutionary Army alone to destroy it and its leader once and for all.

They were limited to slowing it down and undoing a bit of its progress with attacks like this.

Siege weapons were transported and gathered in great numbers to cause as much damage and harm, while Martial Sages solely existed to protect those siege weapons from the evolutionaries that would undoubtedly ensue.

Rinse and repeat.

This was the desperate strategy that the Panamic Alliance was forced to rely on due to the fact that they simply didn't have any other strategy to slow down the Evolutionary Army.

Certainly none to actually get rid of them from this continent.

And even in this lesser compromise, they didn't always find success.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!!

"Rgh…!" Amare grimaced as a tremendously extraordinary attack from Anthea launched her away.

Her body was covered with all manner of wounds and bruises after an hour.

STEP

An invisible, ephemeral figure descended before her.

Almost as if he existed in a different plane by himself.

The Healing Fruit had merely delayed the inevitable.

STEP

She got up, throwing a dire sweeping gaze across the battlefield.

All their siege weapons had been destroyed.

All their Martial Sages were bloody with wounds.

The army base was still intact.

She gritted her teeth with grave darkness in her eyes.

"Retreat."

The Martial Sages swiftly departed from the battlefield, following her suit.

The evolutionaries didn't pursue.

They were patient.

Systematic.

Thorough.

Why did they need to pursue when they were going to conquer the entire continent?

They simply turned to their leader with respect and reverence.

He who may as well have been a god in human form in their eyes.

He gazed at the retreating Martial Sages with a knowing glint in his ephemeral eyes.

"The inhabitants of this continent are weak."

His tone was calm and composed.

"Despite possessing a treasure trove of exotic matter, even the strongest among them can barely maintain my attention."

His voice was one of ephemeral power.

It seemed to reverberate through the very fabric of reality itself.

He closed his eyes.

"I have decided."

The army stood in rapt attention.

"I have decided that we will…" he spoke with a chilling calm. "…exterminate this indigenous sapient species and…"

His eyes opened, beaming with endless power.

"…and make this our new home."

A wave of delight spread across the evolutionaries.

"Summon the entire army."

His eyes sharpened.

"For the future of Evolution."

"FOR THE FUTURE OF EVOLUTION!"
