Chapter 86 - 85: Re-encounter on Liuluo Star
Chapter 86: Chapter 85: Re-encounter on Liuluo Star
They traveled on and off, only reaching the lakeside by evening.
However, when they got to the lake, there were already people there.
Clearly, the other party had spotted them first. Although they maintained their original standing or sitting positions, their hands had already moved to the gun holsters at their waists.
Liu Hang and the mercenaries were also startled and became vigilant.
Qu Tong stood at the back of the group and immediately recognized the attire of the five people by the lake, black combat uniforms, soldiers from one of the six major legions.
Liu Hang and the others recognized them too, putting down their weapons and shouting, "Are you military from the border? We’re students from the First Military Academy here for a task, and these mercenaries are with us."
"The Skywolf Legion is here on a mission."
A voice laid bare their identity; the person sitting in the middle put away his gun and stood up, walking towards them.
He scanned Liu Hang and another student’s Light Brains with some system and gestured for the four by the lake to relax.
"The Star Beasts on this Liuluo Star have been abnormally riotous lately. How could the First Military Academy still assign tasks here?" Cheng Feng casually sized them up as he asked.
"Ah? We didn’t know, we just accepted the task since the school didn’t cancel it," Liu Hang was startled inside.
The rest felt the same.
Cheng Feng looked at the shocked expressions on the faces of his junior brothers and sisters and laughed wickedly, "But it’s fine now, we’ve almost cleared up the high-grade Star Beasts."
Liu Hang couldn’t help but take a long breath of relief.
Before he could completely relax, Cheng Feng’s somewhat irritating voice rang out again.
"If you’re really unlucky, you might run into one that slipped through the net."
The crowd’s mood fluctuated once more, "..."
However, it was Xu An who spoke up at this moment, "You’re Major Cheng Feng, aren’t you?"
"Eh? Kid, you know me?" Cheng Feng teasingly surveyed Xu An.
Xu An, under the gaze tinged with a hint of spiritual power pressure, nodded somewhat stiffly.
His goal had once been the elite Sirius Army from the First Legion; therefore, he had familiarized himself with each of their team leaders, including their appearances and personalities.
Cheng Feng was the one most fond of teasing people.
Cheng Feng clicked his tongue twice, "Good eyes, but your spiritual power grade is too low."
Xu An stayed silent, not responding to the comment.
Liu Hang took the opportunity to break the awkward silence, "Major Cheng, we would like to rest here tonight as well; would that be alright?"
"Suit yourselves, this land isn’t my backyard," Cheng Feng said before walking back to the lake.
Liu Hang and the others tactfully didn’t disturb them by the lake but chose a large tree a little distance away to rest.
Liu Hang and the mercenaries discussed the information they had obtained and formulated a strategy.
Qu Tong then sat down next to Xu An to inquire about the Skywolf Legion.
That Major Cheng, if she remembered correctly, was one of her cheap husband’s subordinates.
After Xu An’s explanations, Qu Tong gained a rough understanding:
The First Legion consisted of over 300,000 people, of which 80,000 were elite troops called the Skywolf Legion, and the leaders of the Skywolf Legion, along with the Grand Marshal, were called the Silver Wolf Squad.
Their current location was at the border of the First and Second Legions, so encountering people from the First Legion was not surprising.
After Qu Tong got the information, Liu Hang’s group had also come up with a decision.
Since the magnetic fields were unstable on Liuluo Star at night and they had already gathered enough herbs, they would walk around the lake tomorrow before heading to the next planet.
Liu Hang had someone specifically inquire with the people from the Skywolf Legion, and their second destination planet had no reports of Star Beast riots.
As they were discussing, Qu Tong sensed someone approaching their area, but she chose to remain silent; it was only four or five people.
"People!" Footsteps were clearly audible, coming from behind them; the captain of the mercenaries, who had the highest level of spiritual power, was the first to notice the movement.
Cheng Feng and the others just directed their gaze to their side and took no other action. Noticing their vigilance, he explained casually, "They’re with us."
Liu Hang and the others then relaxed their guard, while Qu Tong and Song Ke gathered the Immortal Leaves everyone had picked, giving any extras to Qu Tong.
Qu Tong felt someone’s gaze sweeping over them, but didn’t pay it much mind, just glancing up nonchalantly.
"Husband?"
Qu Tong’s voice was not loud, but the quiet of the scene was no match for it.
Some twenty-odd pairs of eyes turned toward Qu Tong.
Qu Tong: "..."
Blurted out too quickly...
Who knew the person watching him was Si Yuting?
Qu Tong stopped talking.
Just when everyone was about to look away, the prominent bag beside Si Yuting spoke.
"Sister-in-law! I was wondering what our boss is looking at. So, it’s you, huh? How come you’re over here with us?"
Xiong Lie was excited beyond belief, and his voice was loud. If Si Yuting hadn’t kept him in check, he looked like he’d jump right in front of Qu Tong.
Qu Tong: "..."
Thank you, truly.
Everyone’s attention focused on Si Yuting.
Si Yuting maintained his awe-inspiring presence, nodded nonchalantly at Qu Tong, and let out a faint "Mhm."
Then he led his people past Qu Tong’s group toward the lake, only Xiong Lie turning back to wink and make faces at Qu Tong.
"Qu Tong! You can’t possibly be that Qu Tong, right?" A teammate oblivious to the truth stared at Qu Tong in disbelief.
"Didn’t you see His Highness War God nod his head? Who else could it be?" another teammate chimed in.
"No wonder, no wonder you can cover our squad’s Elixir consumption, so you’re the Prince Consort!"
"Ah? You’re actually the wife of my idol!!" A member of the Mercenary Team also jumped in.
...
After two days of interacting, everyone had come to acknowledge Qu Tong; they were just teasing, their words not as sharp as those online.
Even if some harbored thoughts, they wouldn’t show it openly.
Qu Tong didn’t respond to the questions and promptly took out Energy Fruits to silence everyone.
Qu Tong gave each person an apple and a box of cherry tomatoes, even the members of the Mercenary Team received an apple.
Those who knew about Qu Tong growing Energy Fruits were extremely grateful and admiring, others who were unaware took it as Royal treatment, feeling both envious and jealous.
But Qu Tong didn’t need to care about what each person thought.
After quietly finishing an apple, Qu Tong glanced at the upright figure sitting by the lake not far away, recalling Si Yuting’s previous intention of wanting to meet her, could there be something important he wished to discuss?
Qu Tong walked aside, took out kiwi fruits and a juicer from his space.
The others, while covetous, contentedly munched on the Energy Fruits in hand.
Qu Tong added green tea, which had been stored in the fridge, and a little fruit honey, and quickly made a full cup of kiwi juice.
Then he carried the juice towards the lake.
Cheng Feng and the others, aware of Qu Tong’s identity, didn’t stop him, instead exchanging glances with one another.
"Husband."
Qu Tong sat down beside Si Yuting and extended the cup forward, looking at Si Yuting with a warm and tender smile.
Si Yuting looked at the juice handed to him and met Qu Tong’s eyes.
Despite being a sly little fox, his smile was innocent and gentle.
