Chapter 213: Chapter 212 Introduction
The exam results came out the next morning, and as it turned out, she couldn’t get first place; there were others more outstanding than her.
The Pharmaceutical Department’s midterm exam results only accounted for 20%, which wasn’t enough to significantly boost the overall grade.
The monthly exam was essentially a mock test before the final exam, and if you couldn’t get first place in the monthly exam, it was likely the same for the finals.
Just as Qu Tong was fretting over her scores in the dormitory, there was a knock on the door.
Qu Tong got up to answer it.
As soon as the door cracked open, she was throttled by the neck!
She didn’t need to guess who it was, and Qu Tong didn’t resist either.
"My dear Tong Tong, I’m back to settle scores with you! Do you have any idea what I’ve been through this past month?" Wen You shook Qu Tong’s head while grinding her teeth.
Qu Tong didn’t directly answer Wen You’s question. Instead, she said in a sweet tone, "Are you thirsty? I’ve squeezed some juice."
"Hmph!" Wen You snorted coldly, let go of Qu Tong, and stepped inside.
She plopped down on the couch and grabbed a pillow to hug.
Qu Tong went to the kitchen and poured out the juice Amu had prepared, handing a glass to Wen You.
Wen You took a satisfied sip of kiwi juice, her beautiful eyes fixed on Qu Tong: "Don’t think a glass of juice can make up for your crimes."
Qu Tong sat on the other end of the sofa, studying Wen You, who was dressed in refreshingly clean casual clothes instead of a military uniform, clearly having freshened up before coming over.
"Don’t you need to report back to Abel Star?"
Wen You replied with casual indifference, "No need, I accomplished a big mission this time, so I got a few days off."
"Then you really should thank me," Qu Tong said with a playful smile.
Wen You threw a pillow at her: "Yeah, I’m so grateful I could punch you right now."
Qu Tong steadied her juice with one hand and blocked the pillow with the other, letting it roll to the floor.
After thinking for a moment, she said, "It’s not out of the question."
"What?" Wen You was baffled by Qu Tong’s non-sequitur.
Qu Tong finished her juice in one gulp, stood up, and smiled: "A fight?"
Wen You’s eyes sparkled: "Let’s go! To the Underground Fighting Arena."
The two were in perfect agreement.
Qu Tong changed into light, comfortable clothing and they headed to the Underground Fighting Arena together.
Wen You used her points to open a free-style ring, spending 1000 Star Coins to set up a privacy mode.
She’d come here often before and had saved quite a few points, so she was well acquainted with the arena’s rules.
"How shall we fight?"
Wen You found a rubber band and tied her blue-black curly hair into a high ponytail.
"Do you have a mecha?"
Wen You let out a soft chuckle: "How could I not have a mecha?"
Then she gave Qu Tong a sexy and flirtatious eyebrow waggle: "But what about you? Didn’t you say you have no spiritual power?"
Qu Tong wasn’t affected at all and calmly responded, "Can’t a mecha be piloted without spiritual power?"
With that, she summoned her sky-blue mecha.
Wen You walked around it, nodding her head: "Looks pretty good."
Then she moved to the front, saw the emblem on the mecha’s chest, and stroked her chin: "No wonder."
Wen You also summoned her own mecha, a blue-purple gradient colored machine with a cool appearance. Its metallic material was smooth as a mirror, embodying both power and beauty.
With a nifty move, Wen You climbed into the cockpit, smirked mischievously and said, "Don’t say I bullied you later, alright?"
Qu Tong smiled slightly and then entered her mecha.
At the beginning, both participants were merely probing, but they gradually got serious as time went on.
As they fought, Wen You couldn’t help but put away her playful mood, her eyes gathering solemnity and surprise, "A mecha controlled without spiritual power can be this impressive?"
One green and one blue, the two mechas exchanged blows evenly matched, neither conceding an inch.
Qu Tong intentionally suppressed her spiritual power, not too dominant, but neither was she losing ground.
The mecha gifted by the Crown Princess Consort had been tested by her in the virtual pod, just like playing a game—demanding quick reflexes and coordination, not as smooth without the manipulation of spiritual power.
But if one became adept at operating it, keeping up with the speed, one could still exhibit considerable strength.
The battle lasted for an hour, still without a clear victor.
Wen You felt it was a waste of time, and later shifted to close combat, very honorably not using her spiritual power.
In terms of physical strength, Qu Tong naturally couldn’t surpass Wen You, but Qu Tong exceeded Wen You in agility and handling enemy moves, always choosing the most energy-efficient and appropriate counterattacks. Her attack patterns were also tricky, catching Wen You off guard.
Neither held back, but neither struck to kill.
The fight left both sides thoroughly invigorated.
Though Wen You was a woman, she was by no means weak.
The four captains of the Skywolf Squad could, if they wished, after a few more years of experience, lead an entire legion—except of course the First Army Corps and the Sixth Army Corps.
Wen You lay without image on the ring, and Qu Tong was in no better state, with one leg on the ground and the other propped up to sit, feeling some soreness in her muscles, her hair damp with sweat, her whole body giving off heat as she struggled to control her erratic breathing.
"If you had spiritual power, coupled with your skills, I reckon I’d have to bow down to you," Wen You said, wiping away sweat as she spoke.
Although she didn’t use her spiritual power, she still had the inherent physical and speed boosts of her physique.
Qu Tong passed an Energy Liquid to Wen You, who took a look; it wasn’t from Cheng Feng’s family but she took it and downed it in one go.
Turning her head curiously, she asked, "Aren’t you going to drink?"
Qu Tong shook her head.
Wen You felt the quick restoration of strength within her body, even the spiritual power depleted from driving the mecha was replenished to full state, her eyes brightened, and she sat up abruptly, "Is this from Miss Ali’s?"
She then gave Qu Tong a blaming stare.
A little figure in her mind was frantically jumping in irritation, such precious Energy Liquid wasted on one’s self, wouldn’t this be a mighty weapon on the battlefield?
Ah! What a tragic waste!
Qu Tong looked at her calmly without saying a word, which was taken as confirmation.
Wen You regretted alone for a while, then her gaze toward Qu Tong gradually clouded: "Tongtong baby~"
As soon as Qu Tong heard the nickname, she knew Wen You was up to no good, leaning her body back with a ’don’t mess with me’ expression on her face.
Wen You cleared her throat and revealed what she considered to be a charming and amorous smile:
"Hehe, you and Miss Ali are good sisters, and we are good sisters too, why don’t you bring Miss Ali out to play sometime, and introduce us to each other."
Qu Tong looked at Wen You’s sleazy smile with distaste, "Isn’t it enough to covet my food, you also want to target my friend’s pharmaceutical products?"
"How could that be? I’m just being sociable, following my interests. Those with shared interests should play together, so your good sister will be my good sister," Wen You said righteously.
Qu Tong gave her a look, letting Wen You figure it out for herself.
Seeing that sincerity was not moving Qu Tong, Wen You could only switch tactics: "Dear Tongtong, just introduce me to Miss Ali, and I won’t hold a grudge for you duping me before."
The corner of Qu Tong’s mouth twitched slightly, as if it were a matchmaking arrangement.
"You and your friend teamed up to dupe me first."
"How was I to know you’d ask such an explosive question?"
"..." Fine, blame me then.
