The larger of the Lion-Tiger Star Beasts roared in anger and pursued him.

The remaining Star Beast, a female, could not use any special abilities, but Qu Tong, carrying Rong Yueqing, was somewhat hampered.

Rong Yueqing understood she was a burden; even though she was so frightened that her eyes were red, she bit her lip throughout the ordeal, not making a sound for fear of distracting Qu Tong.

Qu Tong made use of vines to constantly change positions. The Star Beast couldn’t touch Qu Tong, but Qu Tong was equally unable to harm the Star Beast.

"Stay here for a while, and don’t untie it."

Qu Tong’s voice was cold yet carried a trace of tenderness, soothing Rong Yueqing’s racing heart a bit.

Rong Yueqing nodded vigorously, "Understood, Miss Jun Li, please be careful."

The Lion-Tiger Beast’s attempt to shake the tree with its body caused only a slight sway.

Qu Tong quickly tied her silver-white hair at the back of her head with a thin vine and grasped another to leap down from the tree, the foliage below parting to give her space.

The Lion-Tiger Star Beast sharpened its claws on the thick trunk of the tree for a moment before giving up on Rong Yueqing and pouncing towards Qu Tong’s landing spot instead.

Qu Tong’s fingertips emanated a glowing green light; she pressed her palm to the ground, and the next second, a massive vine rose from beneath, lifting Qu Tong upward once again.

The Star Beast, a mix of lion and tiger, collided with the bottom of the vines and let out an angry roar.

Qu Tong didn’t stay on the vines for long, dropping down to tangle with the Lion-Tiger Star Beast.

Rong Yueqing listened to the commotion below, peering through the gaps in the leaves, her hand covering her agape mouth in surprise.

Who would have thought Miss Jun Li was this powerful!

No wonder she hadn’t shown any sign of shrinking back from the start to the end, as calm as if they were not facing a ninth-grade Star Beast.

A vine wrapped several times around her slender arm was held in her hand, while the other end threaded through the beast’s mouth, tightly binding it so that only muffled grunts could escape.

The girl’s cool beauty, with a proud and cold elegance, had her chin slightly raised, revealing her smooth, fair neck—unadorned yet surpassing any embellishment.

Those below gazed up, her silver hair shimmering through the light, casting pure and holy shadows, overwhelmingly beautiful.

Cheng Feng couldn’t help but bring out his camera, snapping a photo of the scene.

Si Yuting’s deep gaze, however, lingered on the three enormous vines, pensive.

The onlookers were dumbfounded; someone was actually reasoning with a ferociously evil Star Beast?

The Lion-Tiger Star Beast seemed to think the same, uttering angry muffled roars from its bound mouth, desperately twisting its bloodied limbs in an attempt to fling Qu Tong off its neck.

The four vines tightened once more, and the roars from the Lion-Tiger Beast’s mouth changed pitch, signaling even more pain and restraint.

"I know you can understand me. If it’s a yes, roar once; if no, roar twice."

The Lion-Tiger Beast exhaled heavily through its nose, emitting a low whine, much gentler than before, even carrying a hint of grievance.

Qu Tong flashed a stunning smile, "There, that’s being good. It wasn’t me who smashed your egg. Why are you being so stubborn with me? Heal your wounds before seeking revenge on that idiot, understand?"

Rong Chengjue: "..."

Qu Tong withdrew the vine from the Lion-Tiger Star Beast’s mouth and tied it into a bow around its thick neck.

The tips of her fingers flashed with a faint green light, retracting the barbs on the four vines and setting both the person and the beast down.

Qu Tong leaped to the ground, and the Lion-Tiger Star Beast, looking at her and Rong Chengjue unwillingly, turned and fled.
