Chapter 169: Chapter 168 Chatting with the Admirals’ Subordinates
```
Huh?
Wasn’t the Admiral supposed to be the epitome of law and impartial justice?
Isn’t this outright favoritism?
However, she likes it!
Following Si Yuting to the door of his room, the sensory device automatically opened the door.
Qu Tong stood at the doorway, giving Si Yuting a complicated look.
She was somewhat speechless, arranging the rooms so far apart from each other – was he afraid she’d cause trouble?
Did she look like that kind of person?
What a joke!
She could cause trouble even from this distance.
Men!
Qu Tong didn’t enter Si Yuting’s room, just glanced inside from the door. It looked similar to her own, apparently serving as both a resting and office space, and the entire room was as tidy and orderly as she had imagined—stiff and boring.
She was just confirming the location, so it would be convenient to find him if needed, then turned around and considerately said, "Your Highness, are you busy? If you are, I can familiarize myself with the surroundings on my own."
Seeing that Qu Tong had no intention of entering, although Si Yuting was puzzled, he still nodded and replied, "For convenience in training, traps have been set up outside the base. If you want to go out and explore, you can ask Cheng Feng to accompany you, and Wen You should be back soon, too. If there’s anything, you can contact me."
After summoning his assistant AI robot to accompany Qu Tong, Si Yuting left without looking back, showing that as the leader of the First Army Corps, he was indeed very busy.
That he still took the time to accompany her was already commendable.
The assistant AI robot was a flying robot that resembled a UFO, and Si Yuting had recorded permissions for it to take Qu Tong to some restricted areas, including the door to Jiang Zhou’s medical room.
After a brief tour, Qu Tong returned to the central hall and approached the green vine plant.
In fact, Qingmu couldn’t be away from her for too long.
The special ability contained within this green vine had diminished significantly since before; in no more than two months, it would likely wither completely.
Qu Tong placed her palm on the vine’s thick stem and slowly infused her special ability.
As Qu Tong withdrew her hand, she heard the rustling sounds of conversation just outside the hall, all about her.
"I never thought I’d see the day when our cold and aloof Admiral would hold a young lady’s hand."
"I saw it long ago, what’s there to be surprised about?" bragged a soldier who had previously accompanied them to the military competition.
"Exactly, I even saw the Admiral hug his wife. That scene was just so warm," another chimed in.
"The captain said that the lady is both gentle and beautiful, and now I’ve finally seen her with my own eyes."
"We must leave a good impression on the lady. After training, I’ll take a bath and then come to greet her."
"I was thinking the same. Maybe if the lady is pleased, she’ll reward me with a couple of boxes of energy fruit?"
"You’re already counting your chickens before they’re hatched, thinking you can just get the lady’s energy fruits so easily? I’d be happy with just two."
"I’ve been on a mission on another planet and haven’t had the chance to taste the lady’s energy fruits yet. Are they really that good?" a soldier who had recently returned asked curiously.
The other soldiers instantly looked at him with a mix of pity and sympathy, "It’s not just good, it’s amazingly good."
A kind-hearted soldier even took out his light computer on the spot to show him how to order Qu Tong’s fruits and vegetables online.
Even though everyone was speaking in hushed tones, Qu Tong could still hear them.
And those heads that would occasionally peek out, Qu Tong found them especially endearing.
Just then, a head poked out and locked eyes with Qu Tong as she turned around.
The person was caught off guard for a moment, then blushed and chuckled sheepishly before quickly pulling his head back in.
```
Then Qu Tong heard someone happily boasting to his teammates, "Wow, wow, wow! The lady just smiled at me—she looks so pretty when she smiles."
"Oh no, I’m all sweaty and my hair’s a mess. I hope I didn’t scare her."
The person next to him comforted him, "Psh, the lady isn’t even scared of Star Beasts. How could you scare her?"
"Exactly. I saw the lady in the military competition. She was so cool."
"I watched the video online too. She’s really amazing. No wonder she has the Admiral completely wrapped around her finger."
Qu Tong twitched the corner of her mouth from inside—since when did they see Si Yuting being so obedient to her?
Qu Tong stood up and walked outside, preparing to say hello.
She was worried if they kept talking for much longer, Si Yuting, who supposedly had a fertility value of zero, would end up being rumored to have several children already.
Another soldier stuck his head out, his gaze sweeping around.
"Eh? Where did she go?"
"Pfft!" A clear, melodic laugh sounded next to his ear.
The soldier was so startled that he stumbled several steps backward.
"La... Lady," the soldier stuttered, completely at a loss for words.
However, the soldier behind him, obviously annoyed, pushed him aside, straightened his black exercise uniform, and stepped forward imposingly to salute together, shouting in unison, "Good day, Lady!"
Qu Tong smiled warmly and brightly, waving at everyone, "Hello, everyone!"
A group of tough men instantly felt that their lady was just too gentle, almost the polar opposite of their Admiral.
None of them were shy, and seeing that Qu Tong was easy to talk to, they all started chattering away.
"Lady, it must’ve been a trip coming from Capital Star, right? Did you travel last night or this morning? You must be tired?"
"I left this morning; it wasn’t too bad."
"This morning?! Then you must’ve gone at top speed. I didn’t expect you to enjoy speeding too, Lady. I love it; it’s thrilling, isn’t it?"
Qu Tong nodded with a light smile.
"Who taught you how to shoot, Lady? Did the Admiral teach you in private?"
"No, I learned from my father. I used to stay with the Legion when I was with the military," Qu Tong said anything that came to mind, not caring whether anyone believed her or not.
"Lady, you’re really impressive. Many of us with spiritual power can’t reach your level," the soldier complimented, and the others nodded in agreement.
If they were not entirely convinced by Qu Tong before, their admiration only grew after they witnessed Qu Tong’s sincere love for the Admiral.
They later heard that the lady had led a small team, not so strong, to eliminate hundreds, maybe thousands, of people and secure the first place in the competition. Their respect for her increased even more.
Just to be clear, they were not drooling over the idea!!
"Do you still have training to do?" Qu Tong asked.
"Sure do! We still have to run an extra 20 laps. We’re only halfway there. After a half-hour break, we have to keep going."
Qu Tong looked at their training field—a single lap was at least eight hundred meters. For an average person, two laps would be quite challenging.
But even the least physically gifted members of the Skywolf Legion are at least A-rank in fitness, and though they complained, there wasn’t a hint of weakness in their eyes.
Someone brought up Energy Fruits, praising the Energy Fruit from Qu Tong’s farm as the best they’ve ever tasted.
"The food the lady makes is also super delicious. Just smelling it makes me unbearably hungry," someone commented.
Qu Tong quite liked their straightforward, say-it-as-it-is nature and said with a smile, "There’s a restaurant on Capital Star called Drunken Star River. They’ll be partnering with me soon, so you can try it out when you have the chance."
"In not too long, the fruits and vegetables on our farm will be ripe on a large scale. If your Admiral agrees, I could consider collaborating with your logistics department."
"Agree, such a great offer, the Admiral has to agree," before the soldier could respond, Cheng Feng, who had just returned from a call, energetically replied.
