Chapter 158: Chapter 157 Protecting Madame’s Quota

Abel Star.
Si Yuting stepped out of the medical room, massaging his temples with one hand while he raised the other to continue the video call.
The light computer projected one side of the battlefield. With the cooperation of the fighter jets and mechs, the sky above the planet, once dense with the Insect Clan, had thinned out considerably. The ground was covered with sticky corpses, and some low-level bugs from the Bug Tribe were gnawing at the bodies of their comrades.
"Boss, you don’t need to send more troops. The number of bugs coming out of the wormhole has clearly decreased. It should be over soon. We can handle it," Cheng Feng’s voice came from the other end of the light computer.
"Alright, pay attention to wrapping things up. Contact me immediately if there’s any situation," Si Yuting commanded with a cold voice and then ended the communication.
After drinking a vial of Energy Liquid, the look of fatigue between Si Yuting’s brows eased slightly, and he walked towards the base’s main hall.
Soldiers, exhausted beyond measure, filled the seats beneath the central vines.
Jiang Zhou was leading the medical team in treating the wounded soldiers. The more seriously injured ones were inside the inner medical rooms.
Through the open doors of the rooms, one could see several soldiers strapped to the sickbeds with heavy magnetic locks, struggling in pain.
"Has someone from the Legion been sent to press them?" Si Yuting asked, frowning.
"We’ve pressed them, but it’s no use. We’ve transferred all the Spirit Power Stabilizing Potions that we could, but the Alchemist Association won’t budge, and neither can the Palace Commander," Jiang Zhou said as he injected a sedative into a soldier and clipped a monitor to the soldier’s finger, heaving a sigh.
"Some couldn’t hold on and have been taken to the control room. It’s more likely to end badly than well."
In the past two or three days, with the supplies exhausted, the more than twenty control rooms had been constantly at full capacity, with very few managing to walk out of there normally.
It was a heavy topic. Vacancies in the control rooms only meant either someone had made it through or someone had not.
"Did you use the potion I gave you on them?" He had given all of the Growth Liquid he received from Qu Tong to Jiang Zhou as soon as he returned yesterday.
"We did. Those with milder outbursts could hold on, but some are just too severe; it won’t work without Advanced Mind Stabilizing Potions."
Si Yuting’s lips were tightly pressed together, his cold eyes deep and intense, exuding an imposing air.
"Tell them, if they hold on, they’ll get half a month’s leave and can apply first for the chance to go protect the lady. If they can’t make it, I will provide an extra subsidy to their wives, children, and parents."
Si Yuting’s harsh words echoed into the control room via the surveillance equipment, hitting everyone like a heavy hammer, with a dull resonating sound.
"Is there really no other way?"
"Why did this problem come up just at the critical moment?"
"For a chance to protect the lady, I’ll damn well make it through."
"Don’t compete with me; I want to go too."
Some lamented unwillingly while others strongly encouraged themselves.
Back in the office, Si Yuting dialed Si Chen’s number, only to be met with the same result as before.
Si Yuting leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. His large palm massaged his temples repeatedly, trying to soothe his restless Spirit Sea.
After a long while, Si Yuting opened his fierce and cold eyes. When his gaze inadvertently touched a corner of the landscape on the desk, he reached out subconsciously and picked off a red fruit.
It was only after he picked it that he looked at the small tomato in his hand with a slight start. Since he’d picked it already, Si Yuting didn’t let it go to waste.
The sweet and sour taste seemed to distract him from the pain for a moment. Si Yuting remembered that Qu Tong had sent him a message earlier, but he was busy with other matters at the time and didn’t open it.
The message had been received an hour ago and was audio.
Si Yuting played it, and Qu Tong’s delicate voice came out: "Your Highness, I received the fox fur you sent, and I love it. Thank you, Your Highness. I’ve sent you something. Remember to pick it up. Looking forward to your early victory."
Si Yuting didn’t have time to pick up the package, but thinking of how his troops longed for Qu Tong’s Energy Fruit, he had a robot assistant fetch it.
The delivery this time was wrapped in paper, but the shape still suggested it was a food box.
Si Yuting unwrapped the package, and his eyes were immediately drawn to an unusual item in the third layer.
The first layer contained a box of strawberries, the second a box of green dates, and the third, nine purple potions.
Si Yuting’s pupils contracted slightly, his tight grip revealing his now turbulent heart.
Si Yuting rose from his chair and dialed Jiang Zhou’s communicator, asking him to come over.
He hadn’t expected that the one to solve his problem in the end would be his own little wife. Others found it difficult to produce even one potion, yet she had delivered nine to him.
Even though she was a friend of Jun Li, it must not have been easy to obtain so many potions; perhaps these nine potions represented all her assets.
Si Yuting thought with mixed feelings.
At that moment, Jiang Zhou pushed the door open and entered.
Si Yuting handed the nine potions to Jiang Zhou.
Seeing Jiang Zhou’s surprised and puzzled gaze, Si Yuting didn’t explain where the potions had come from. He simply said, "Prioritize them for warriors with severe conditions and at risk of losing their lives."
After a pause, he added, "Among those with equal circumstances, prioritize soldiers with higher contribution points."
"Yes!" Jiang Zhou understood Si Yuting’s helplessness, and he felt the same way.
Although these nine potions were crucial and could solve the urgent crisis, they were still far from enough.
They were not even enough for the base alone, let alone the ongoing war, with more and more soldiers being sent back in a continuous stream.
Unable to cater to all and despite the reluctance, choices had to be made.
The contribution point system of the First Army Corps was different from the other corps; it was strictly calculated based on the quantity and rank of the Insect Clan killed, with no additional contribution points for higher military rank.

After Qu Tong sent the delivery, she used the little spiritual power she had just recovered to craft a dozen more Spirit Power Stabilizing Potions. With the ones she had made earlier, Qu Tong had a total of 70 potions and then she dialed the Palace Commander’s communicator.
Gong Yun had recently been busy dealing with the Alchemist Association and was very tired, but he still perked up when he connected with Qu Tong.
He had thought Qu Tong was contacting him about Moonlight Grass, but instead, she gave him a pleasant surprise.
"Commander, the potions from Master are ready. Do you want them delivered to the Imperial Palace or the Second Army Corps?"
"Ah?" Gong Yun didn’t react for a moment, but after two seconds, his voice rose with excitement, "Send them to the corps! Through the wormhole! I’m on my way back!"
Then he quickly changed the subject, "Change the address, send them directly to the First Army Corps, I’ll make the payment right away."
As he spoke, Gong Yun sent over the wormhole coordinates for Abel Star.
"Commander Gong, this time there are 70 Spirit Power Stabilizing Potions and 60 Sleep-Aid Potions, a total of 14.3 million," Qu Tong reminded him.
Upon hearing there were ten more Spirit Power Stabilizing Potions, Gong Yun’s joy instantly doubled and he praised repeatedly, "Great, great, great! I’ll make the payment right now, I’ll do it personally."
"Miss Jun Li, you’ve really done us a great favor this time. Thank you, and please thank Elder Yuan on my behalf," Gong Yun gratefully said.
Qu Tong smiled, "No need to be polite, Commander."
Gong Yun couldn’t help but ask, "Miss Jun Li, if there’s enough Moonlight Grass next month, can we expect another 70 Spirit Power Stabilizing Potions?"
"Master said it depends on the situation," Qu Tong didn’t provide a definite answer.
"Okay," Gong Yun wasn’t discouraged; he felt there was a good chance there would be 70 potions next month as well.
"Then I’ll get back to my duties. If you need anything, Miss Jun Li, just contact me directly."
