Chapter 96: Chapter 74 I Became Stronger_2
Rod tried it out, and a crescent moon hook pattern immediately appeared on the back of his right hand, while his hand became semi-transparent like a spirit body. A few strands of bright light rose from the back of his hand and dissipated into the air.
At this moment, as long as he inserted his right hand into the breach of the enemy’s soul, he could tear apart their soul.
But!
He needed to get close to do it!
Rod had been at Jinworth Academy for just a month, and he hadn’t learned any combat skills other than shooting pistols; he had not attended a single combat class.
He could only shoot pistols and throw stones.
Rushing in like this was very dangerous.
And Rod’s style had always been steady, careful, and cautious. Shooting pistols and throwing stones from a distance had been his best choice, as fighting Plague Demons was the most dangerous experience he had ever had, and he had no desire to relive such thrills.
This thing could only be set aside for now.
Rod thought.
Once I’ve mastered combat skills, then I will consider using it.
Combat classes would only start in the second semester of the first year, which was still a long way off.
Jinworth Academy had no summer or winter breaks—the only differentiation between semesters was the final exams. After the exams, there would be about one to two weeks off, used by the pupils to exchange their academic credits for required materials; department credits were also used during this period.
Before that, there was a departmental Flame Trophy competition, which was Kashan’s ultimate pursuit.
Rod stepped onto the altar, carefully grasped the yellow-green Soul Fire, and brought it inside the cabin.
Once he let go, it just floated quietly in mid-air.
The cabin was empty, containing only a stone platform and a bookshelf.
But Rod knew there were definitely more tools inside the cabin.
Buildings in the Dream Realm all had specific pattern markings.
The one representing the Soul Altar was an eye pattern; whenever he found a fragment with the eye pattern and brought it back to the Dream Realm, the content of the altar would increase.
Similarly, the pattern representing the cabin was a regular seventeen-sided shape; finding more fragments of the seventeen-sided pattern would increase the contents and functions of the cabin.
Rod walked to the stone platform and picked up a bag of Fuel Element placed on it, adding it to a nearby three-pronged candlestick, igniting the three candles.
In the faint candlelight, an invisible aura enveloped the stone platform.
It seemed as if it had resurrected from an inanimate object.
In front of the stone platform, a large stone slab stood, and many texts suddenly appeared on it; they were the materials needed for various items.
Rod placed the yellow-green Soul Fire on the stone platform.
Beneath "Soul Firewood."
The line "A strong Complete Soul" lit up.
Rod returned to the Soul Altar, took the "Evil Black Crow’s Soul," and placed it on the stone platform.
"A medium Complete Soul" also lit up.
Rod opened the storage beneath the stone platform and placed ten squirming black substances on the platform.
"Ten portions of Humanity" lit up.
Rod then placed a clump of solidified Golden Light on the stone platform.
"One portion of Divinity" lit up.
Rod then took out ten clumps of ash from the storage, for which he had paid one hundred silver coins.
"Ten portions of any Monster Ash" lit up.
Rod finally took out a wedge-shaped, pure white stone which he had purchased for five thousand five hundred silver coins.
"One thirteen-gram Radiant Stone" lit up.
Then, the "Soul Firewood" lit up completely.
Rod lightly tapped, and the stone platform seemed to have received a command; a cabinet drawer violently opened, and a large hand flew out, grabbing all the ingredients together and emitting a bright light from within.
Two large pestles flew over and began thrusting wildly at the giant hand.
Rod watched with a bit of discomfort, worried that the materials might get damaged by their actions.
Fortunately, a "twisted pain incident" did not occur here; the creation was a hundred percent successful, not ninety-nine point nine percent.
In less than half an hour, the crafting was done.
The large pestles flew back to their original places, the big hand spread open, jumped back into the cabinet, and with a bang, it closed.
An object radiating pure white Spiritual brilliance fell on the stone platform.
Through the brilliance, Rod saw it resembled numerous intertwined miscellaneous wood branches, irregularly square-shaped, with a flame-like radiance emitting from every crevice.
Was this the Soul Firewood?
Rod carefully picked it up; the light passed through his palm unobstructed, like a phantom from another world.
How should I incorporate it into the Star?
Rod glanced at the nearby bookshelf, which was empty except for one book.
It was time to consult the Book of Stupidity.
During their time together, Rod had discovered that this guy wasn’t particularly reliable.
Although he indeed learned a lot from it, much about the Dream Realm had been gleaned from it, and it had even helped Rod score full marks in an exam.
But this guy often had quirks; it didn’t like to be spread open for long, nor did it like showing the same content continuously, and those teachings were very obscure, not something Rod could understand in one read.
So whenever Rod studied for a long period, the book would suddenly close itself or madly flip through pages, even spelling out two words on its cover with patterns.
Stupid.
It infuriated Rod to no end, but he had no way to deal with it and could only internally scorn it as the "Book of Stupidity."
Rod took down this quirky big book, only to find it was sulking again, tensing its pages to prevent him from prying them apart.
With no other choice, Rod just fed it two Red Stones.
