Chapter 91: Chapter 72: The Dean_2
Both Associate Deans sighed simultaneously, "My boy, ever since you entered the academy, you’ve caused us quite some trouble."
"Behave, stop causing trouble. Part of your authority file is still in the Internal Affairs Court, and your case is also rather troublesome for the academy."
Miller pursed her lips and said seriously, "Rod, I don’t know what problems you have or who you’re in conflict with, but I believe that if you focus on your studies within the academy for a year, all difficulties will pass."
Rod nodded obediently but knew in his heart that if he truly did as she suggested, the grass on his grave would be three meters tall a year later.
Kashan would just about be able to offer him a medal for being number one for ten years.
This thought nearly made Rod laugh, but he managed to hold it in.
Luckily, the critiquing meeting did not last too long.
Dean Theodore stood up, his towering figure almost touching the ceiling, and his silver beard almost covered the teacups on the table like a waterfall.
"Bag, Bain, you both have busy schedules and no time to waste here. Miller, you should go and talk to the students of Group Ten, they must be worried. Rod, come to my office."
The two deans patted Rod’s shoulder and sequentially walked out of the room.
Miller pursed her lips and glanced at him briefly, "You really should change your Fire Spark name, otherwise others will keep making fun of you."
"Well done," she finally said and walked out of the room.
Rod was stunned. He hadn’t expected this strict department head to actually support him.
Gathering his thoughts, he pushed open the door inside and arrived at the Dean of Jinworth Academy’s office.
This was a very spacious and beautiful room, filled with various strange artifacts, a huge bookshelf and translucent glass cabinets being the main furniture. Theodore sat behind a large mahogany desk topped with a silver tripod, a complex spherical mechanism, a shrunken fireball in a birdcage, and a black sea urchin encased in a glass jar.
And the towering Dean was holding a stone basin, intently staring inside it.
The stone basin was shrouded in white mist.
"Rod," he said in a relaxed tone.
"Come see what’s inside this stone basin."
Rod cautiously walked over, noticing the shrunken fireball moving closer to him and the sea urchin stealthily opening its eyes to peek at him.
Are these things alive?
A mess of thoughts flashed through Rod’s mind as he approached the stone basin and carefully activated his "Eye of the Soul."
The Dean showed no particular reaction, still focused on the stone basin.
Rod breathed a sigh of relief. He was scared this legendary Dean would see through his secret.
He looked down into the basin.
The white mist gradually faded, revealing a strikingly beautiful blonde woman in her late twenties, dressed very lightly in just her underwear and shorts, her dazzling long white legs and voluptuous figure stirring envy.
She stood before a lake, the pristine water as blue as the sky, grass under her feet, and in the distance, a huge white tree only partly visible.
The blonde woman smiled at them, elegantly turned around as if showing off her perfect figure, and her face strangely seemed familiar.
Rod looked up with a complicated expression.
No way.
You’re that kind of Dean?
Hiding in your office watching beautiful women?
Theodore lifted his azure eyes, his wise gaze as if seeing through his heart, "So, you saw the image?"
That means, you didn’t see it?
A thought struck Rod, and he nodded.
Theodore smiled, "You indeed are a true Spiritual Visionary."
Rod paused slightly, "You didn’t know?"
Theodore shook his head and set the stone basin aside.
"We know far less than you imagine. The Internal Affairs Court classified your file as top secret, blocking a lot of information about you from the academy. In theory, we shouldn’t even know what your Fire Spark name is."
Rod found it hard to accept that Jinworth Academy had less authority than the Internal Affairs Court.
Theodore, as if knowing what he was thinking, smiled and said, "Each has its own responsibilities. The Internal Affairs Court handles all internal affairs, over which it has an unshakeable greatest authority."
He pulled out two silver cups from below the table.
"Care for a drink?"
Rod paused, having never been a guest at someone’s house before, unfamiliar with the customs, so he smartly replied,
"The same as yours."
Theodore shook his head, smiling, "Grass tea might not suit you. How about black tea?"
Rod nodded.
Theodore took out two silver canisters, poured tea into both cups, and with a flick of his long fingers, a clump of clean water floated out from the washroom.
The shrunken fireball jumped out of the birdcage, bathed in the water.
The water boiled and poured into the two cups like a waterfall.
"Drink up."
Theodore handed the silver cup to Rod and sipped his cup of green tea, "Hmm, the temperature is just right."
Are you iron-mouthed?
Rod hesitated to sip, holding the cup and glancing at the fireball, which was now performing a comical tap dance in the birdcage, and asked quietly, "Your Excellency Dean, did you call me here for something specific?"
Theodore put down his cup, speaking gently, "Rod, you might have a heart for adventure, but you should know, only tall trees can withstand the storm."
