Rod frowned and said, "Then why does it have Soul Firewood? Why does it have Humanity? Is Human pus not the corruption of Humanity?"

The Book of Knowledge hesitantly replied, "I cannot be certain because I do not know the exact time the Heroic Spirit Hall sank into the Abyss during the Second Epoch. It has some strange connection to the Dream Realm and is also somewhat related to the demise of the Ancient Gods..."

"However, it is also possible that after the Dream Realm shattered, the scattered Humanity and Soul Firewood were collected by certain individuals. And it was guarded by this Heroic Spirit until it became corrupted."

Kaiso’s eyes widened, "What... what? What are you doing? Are we not going back?"

Alan smiled and said, "Don’t worry. This ancient Heroic Spirit Hall is very peculiar; it is both a part of the Abyss and a Fragment of it, floating in the cracks between realms, disturbed by war, causing fissures that allowed Human pus to flow out, polluting the Giants’ tombs, turning the corpses of Giants underground into pus-infected Giants."

"This strange phenomenon is difficult to explain with current theories. If the entrance disappears, it might forever drift in the crevices of space, never to be found again. We might only have this one chance to explore it; we cannot easily give it up."

Kaiso appeared very concerned, but he could not refute Alan’s decision and had to follow closely behind him.

Asa sent out a cold laugh in his mind, "Such arrogance. I will see how you regret this later."

Rod ignored him and followed them through a very deep corridor to a gigantic door.

Kaiso said urgently, "Lord Alan, there is no way through."

"There is,"

Alan’s hand flashed with sword light, and the door shattered in response, revealing an extremely large hall behind it.

The hall was filled with all sorts of statues and clay figures, which all came to life after the door shattered.

But they quickly died once again.

A tremendously bright sword light swept across, cutting all the statues and clay figures in half.

Rod felt no remorse, as these things were all some sort of constructs, soulless.

A gigantic shadow fell from the unseen top of the hall.

It looked bizarre, its whole body emanating a black glow, and within its two eye sockets was an even denser darkness.

"You are... human, why... intrude upon the Heroic Spirit Hall..."

A mechanical and stiff voice came from the shadow, mixed with some kind of hysterical noise. As it reached the final words, the voice completely distorted into a monstrous shriek.

"Eliminate! Eliminate! Eliminate the invaders!"

A strong surge of black energy erupted from the great shadow, with the aura of the Abyss rolling in. Every word it uttered was drowned in a horrifying cacophony of sounds, merely listening to it was enough to drive one mad.

Suddenly, Asa burst into mad laughter, "It’s him! It’s him! The war Heroic Spirit Sares! The most powerful ancient Heroic Spirit. Legend has it that his soul is the reincarnated soul of the War God Ares. He’s the invincible super warrior, the super king of humanity.
