Chapter 73: Chapter 61 Spiritual Energy Advancement_2

He looked up, facing Mina’s murderous gaze, and had no choice but to admit that it was his fault.

Humanity +1

Alright, when humanity speaks, even Truth must fall silent.

However, Rod found that Royal City’s mathematics were incredibly advanced—specifically, Mina already understood topology and functional analysis.

This proved that their mathematics had developed at least to a modern level; no wonder they had numerical quantification for various indicators.

And Mina was astounded by Rod’s mathematical foundation.

She was already known as the mathematical prodigy of Royal City once in a century. Her teacher, Lord Amides from Royal City University, had praised her and was nurturing her as his leading disciple. Among the younger generation, none could match her mathematical ability; even the Great Observatory would sometimes ask her to solve difficult problems.

But here was a boy nine years her junior who could actually keep up with her!

Mina’s heart thudded.

Royal City’s desire for mathematicians was immense, but the vast majority of people focused solely on Spiritual Energy and concrete fighting strength, disdainful of true knowledge.

The high threshold of mathematics also deterred many.

So, a scholar with a high mastery in mathematics was actually quite lonely.

If she could bring this handsome and cute little guy into her mentor’s circle to become her little junior, wouldn’t she then have a companion? They could delve into deep discussions about everything they were interested in, day and night.

However, Rod also had considerable talent for battle; he might not be willing to devote himself to the pursuit of knowledge.

Mina hesitated.

But when they discussed complex calculations in fluid dynamics, Rod suggested an interesting approach. Starting from the principle of energy conservation, he studied the flow of water in supply pipelines, deriving the relationships between fluid motion, flow velocity, pressure, and the pipes themselves, which under certain conditions could greatly reduce the complexity of calculations.

Mina instantly made up her mind; no matter what, she had to bring him into her teacher’s fold to become her little junior.

"Rod."

Suddenly, Mina stood up, her ample chest blocking Rod’s entire field of vision.

"Your Spiritual Energy advancement ritual is ready; let’s do it now."

"Huh? Didn’t you say we were missing materials and needed to wait a few more days?"

Mina said seriously, "Your Spiritual Power Strength has already far exceeded your Spiritual Power Level, and if it continues like this, it will harm your soul—just like we discourage youngsters from wearing tight pants."

You might as well not have mentioned it; now I feel like my soul has changed color... Rod stood up and went to the ritual hall. As Mina had instructed, he removed his robe and lay spread-eagle on something similar to an operating table.

But when Mina asked him to strip naked, he was cautious and questioned back, really? What’s the use of stripping completely?

Seeing her shifty gaze and blushing face, he knew she was lying.

Although Rod wasn’t a bashfully innocent young man, it was somewhat uncomfortable to be viewed so one-sidedly; it would’ve been more acceptable if they were looking at each other equally.

Mina didn’t insist and pushed over a trolley, lit some incense, and smeared various oils on his body. Her slender fingers were not particularly well-behaved, gently pressing with her soft fingertips against his stomach and chest, her long nails lightly grazing his skin, making Rod question whether this was really necessary for the Spiritual Energy advancement ritual or if she was just taking advantage of the situation.

Luckily, Mina didn’t take too long.

She quickly pushed over two huge transformer-like devices, placing two clusters of liquid blue-glowing crystals beside his forehead and stuffing a red crystalline object into his mouth.

"All set, it might be a bit intense, just bear with it."

Mina stepped back, her expression serious, powerful Spiritual Energy gathering in her hands. Visible ripples formed in the air, and the two huge transformers began to hum and buzz.

She raised her hands and shouted,

"Lightning!"

In an instant, a massive white light shot through Rod’s body. With a crack, he bit through the Red Crystal, and everything went black as he passed out.

When he opened his eyes, he had arrived in the Dream World, standing dazedly in front of the Obelisk.

The dream world became strange; the gray mist turned turbulent. Thunder and lightning flashed and forked wildly in the sky, and the cold light of an approaching storm enveloped the world.

A massive thunderbolt struck, and he lost consciousness again.

When Rod awoke once more, Mina was standing in front of him, all smiles.

"Congratulations, the ritual was very successful. You’ve taken the first step towards becoming a Transcendent Fire Holder. You have officially entered the Hall of Spiritual Energy; you’re no longer barred outside the door."

Rod looked at her, puzzled. "Was I not initiated before?"

Mina smiled, "Of course not. First Level of Spiritual Energy is like a crab that has not molted, or a caterpillar that has not cocooned—it’s an incomplete form. It’s a transitional form from human to Transcendent. By moving from First to Second Level, it’s like you’ve changed from a shrimp to a crab, from a caterpillar to a butterfly. You will continue to grow, but there will no longer be such a metamorphosis until you cross the threshold to the non-human."

Joy filled Rod’s heart. He raised his hand; at a thought, Spiritual Energy poured out from the depths of his soul like a flood from opened gates.

A particularly clear and direct sensation reflected in his mind, a stark contrast to the previous hazy sensations, as if a hundred layers of gauze had been stripped away.
