The Last King Of Darkness -
Chapter 725 - 413: Destroying the Storm
Chapter 725: Chapter 413: Destroying the Storm
The hall had fallen into eerie silence.
Horus and Dalin looked at him in astonishment, almost thinking they had misheard.
After a moment, Horus’s face, dry as dead wood, wrinkled up: "Rod, do you know what you’re talking about?"
Rod answered indifferently, "I know."
"I must remind you," Dalin said, "Storm Pass is a large-scale war, not a single combat or a small-scale team operation. There, we have our most powerful combat clusters, the strongest warriors, and most elite personnel."
"But they still encountered difficulties, and these difficulties are not like the crises you dealt with before that could be easily resolved with your help."
Rod replied calmly, "I know, but I have my methods and my confidence. You can have another Second Level combatant replace Master Barrett and his elite combat cluster."
Dalin was silent for a few seconds, then suddenly smiled.
"Alright."
He took a puff of his cigarette, slowly exhaling, letting the white smoke swirl around him.
"Tell me what you need."
Rod thought for a moment and asked, "Do you have Starlight Fragment in stock?"
Dalin was silent for a few seconds and said, "There are some, but not many."
"I want them all."
"Alright."
Soon, a supply officer hurried over with a box made of pure Star Marrow.
This storage box, crafted from pure Star Marrow, had a deep blue exterior that seemed as boundless as the starry sky. When it was placed on the table, it looked as though a sprinkle of starlight had been set down.
"There are a total of eighteen Starlight Fragments."
The supply officer bowed and said.
"These are all the Starlight Fragments Royal City currently has. They only appear when stars rule the night sky, and starlight penetrates the Black Fog, scattered across the land without a pattern, with a lifespan of only one clock hour from birth to demise. They are extremely difficult to store and require a Star Marrow box for prolonged preservation. Thus, the Royal City’s reserves are not abundant, and their use is rather limited."
Rod opened the Star Marrow box, and the escaping starlight immediately illuminated the hall. Eighteen brilliant blue light were dancing within the box.
The supply officer said, "Your Highness, please be aware that once removed from the Star Marrow box, it will disappear quickly."
Rod said nothing and with a flick of his wrist, sent all the Starlight Fragments into the Dream Realm.
One Goddess’s Tear requires three Starlight Fragments, and eighteen fragments were just enough to make six.
Rod did the math in his head and figured it should be enough.
"Then I’m off."
Dalin nodded, "May the flame protect you always."
After Rod had left, Dalin issued a new order.
"From now on, the priority of Starlight Fragments is to be raised to extremely high, second only to Fire Spark, Firewood, Element, and Holy White Tree Seeds."
The supply officer exclaimed in surprise, "Lord Dalin, why? Starlight Fragments have limited use, and they are very difficult to collect, even harder to preserve."
Horus guessed a bit of what was happening but still advised, "Dalin, wait and see. We do not yet know if Rod’s method will work."
Dalin said indifferently, "But I believe in him, no more talk, just do as I say."
He then immersed himself in his work.
Thinking of the uncertain future, Horus sighed lightly and also promptly left.

Storm Pass.
The battle was raging fiercely; the fluctuations of Spiritual Energy were like a boiling sea, with explosions of light undulating on the dark land.
A long line of lights converged from afar, bringing in logistical supplies to the battlefront.
The fight had reached its most critical moment.
Whether it was the warriors struggling on the front lines or the logistics personnel transporting supplies, everyone had reached their limits.
There were simply too many Undead Giants.
The entire Storm Pass was built from their bones. Under the miasma of the Black Fog that had persisted for a thousand years, they had all undergone eerie transformations. When the Fire Son led his legion into the Storm Pass, all the skeletal remains began to awaken.
Humanity was not only fighting against the monsters within Storm Pass but against the Storm Pass itself.
Located in the largest canyon of the Dead Ash Mountain Range, Storm Pass stretched for 33,000 yards, was 1,700 yards high, and built from the bones of tens of thousands of Giants, which were fiendishly difficult to deal with.
Every time a Giant skeleton stood up, a squad of warriors knew they were in for a fierce fight.
On the forefront, Fire Son Luo Weiya was battling the Wall of Giants, the seven Guardians fighting in coordination. The battle had been ongoing for a day and a night, and still, no end was in sight.
To the right front, dozens of powerful beings with thousands of warriors were fighting the kin of the Giant King Omir.
The corrupted kin of the Giants were far more powerful than the average Undead Giants; standing over three hundred yards tall, they loomed like ants before them. Their profound Spiritual Energy was like a swampy mire, where not even a ripple could be stirred.
Fighting them was incredibly difficult; their massive stature and powerful Spiritual Energy were their Characteristic. Any normal attack from them could be catastrophic, and only the most elite teams could take them on.
Surrounding the corrupted kin of the Giants, even more warriors were battling the Undead Giants.
They were as far as the eye could see, shrouded in misty gray fog, with powerful Resonance Plates linking their Spiritual Energy together. If this link was broken, they would be annihilated.
But as long as it existed, they were invincible!
Countless warriors bravely stepped forward. They didn’t need to raise Spiritual Defense, nor pay too much attention to the Giants’ attacks, just use their most efficient, most destructive means, striking at the Giants’ weakest points.
