The Last King Of Darkness
Chapter 672 - 393: The Beginning of the Great War

Chapter 672: Chapter 393: The Beginning of the Great War

The Soul of the Dark Stars was like a purple mist, filling half of the Crystal Wall.

Rod examined for a moment and frowned as he asked, "Book, such a powerful monster, isn’t it King Level?"

The Book of Knowledge was busy collecting the puppet’s fragments, piecing them together, so as to reduce the resources needed for repair.

"It lacks a Strong Source."

The Book of Knowledge answered with disdain.

"As long as it lacks a Strong Source, no matter how strong, it’s not a King Level Monster."

"From this perspective, the previous invader, the Doomed Nightmare, had a much higher position. Given enough time, the Doomed Nightmare could become King, while the Dark Stars could never achieve it."

Rod felt a bit regretful, if it had been King Level, then he could have ignited the second Great Star.

"What is this Nightmare Fuel? How is it related to the Nightmare Fuel?" Rod asked again.

Nightmare Fuel was a material obtained after sacrificing the Doomed Nightmare last time.

Its usefulness hadn’t yet appeared, and there was now another new fuel.

The Book of Knowledge made a "puh" noise as it inserted the puppet’s head into its body and responded, "Nightmare Fuel and Nightmare Fuel are both essences of the Dream Factory and the Spring of Hope, as well as the fuel that sustains their operation. Mixed together, their burning efficiency would increase three to four times. Nightmare Gems are even stronger essences."

Both the Dream Factory and the Spring of Hope are constructs of the Dream Realm; this trip to the Dream Bubble aimed to secure them.

The Book of Knowledge had originally planned to face the invasion after securing that fragment.

It had not expected the invasion to advance so greatly and abruptly, disrupting its entire plan, which was why they were caught off guard and struggled so hard.

"It really infuriates me."

The Book of Knowledge flipped its pages in annoyance as it finished piecing together the last fragment of the puppet.

"If we recover the fragments of the Dream Factory and the Spring of Hope, we can repair the Divine Mirror."

"With the Divine Mirror, I could have full control over the defenses of the Dream Realm. There’s absolutely no way the Dark Stars could have blocked us, forcing us to nearly deplete our divinity, and we almost met our doom. What a terrible loss."

It hopped into Rod’s arms, and two large characters floated up from its pages.

"Revenge!"

"Master, we must have revenge! Find the one plotting against us from behind! This is much too dangerous! Under such perilous conditions, we cannot allow it to continue existing."

Rod nodded, he was very suspicious that the Doomsday believers who kept delivering him trouble were the true culprits, but he couldn’t be sure.

Could those idiots with crap-filled brains have such power?

A visit to the White Tower was a must.

Recalling the tragic scene from before, Rod still felt the aftereffects.

"Book, how exactly did we win in the end?" Rod asked.

The Book of Knowledge hesitantly flipped its pages and wrote with some uncertainty: "I... I’m not quite sure. The laws of the Dark Stars suddenly failed, and I was able to control the power of the Dream Realm again, pushing back the Dark Stars’ suppression over you. Once the power of the Strong Divine Blade was unleashed, the Dark Stars simply could not withstand it."

The Strong Divine Blade is the ultimate form of the Divine Blade, consuming even more divinity.

Looking at the mere 35 points of divinity he had left, Rod also felt the pain in his heart.

That he had used all but this meager amount out of an initial 290 points of divinity was something he had never anticipated.

Yet, Rod had no regrets; the consumption of every point of divinity was necessary. Had there not been 4 Spirit Realm Strikes, the Dark Stars would not have been forced to reveal their true form.

With the Skull’s hardness, it simply wasn’t something that could be pierced by normal attacks.

And if it hadn’t been for burning 100 points of divinity, even the power of the Dream Realm wouldn’t have been able to suppress the Dark Stars, to say nothing of the victory that followed.

As for the Strong Divine Blade, it was the key of keys, causing the crucial damage to the Dark Stars, all accomplished by it.

The strength of the Dark Stars far surpassed his own.

"Soul Blast" couldn’t even affect it. He had to use "Giant God Power" and stack it with "Soul Strike" to kill it.

After this battle, Rod acutely realized just how far he was from real Dark Monsters.

The slightly inflated ego he had developed over the recent period had also cooled a bit, and he had one more ounce of respect for the terrifying and mysterious Black Fog.

However, Rod was not intimidated. The flame in his heart had not been extinguished; instead, it ignited an even more spirited determination to stand resolute against any darkness encountered.

Unbeknownst to him, Rod had developed a belief that the greater the difficulty, the stronger the enemy, the more his passion would boil over, the more his fervor would blaze!

I will eventually triumph!

Even if darkness envelopes the world, hope will never die.

----

Rod cleaned up the remnants of the battle and was ready to leave the Dream Realm.

He now possessed many souls, but had very little divinity left, unable to ignite any new stars.

The Book of Knowledge told him that repairing the Obelisk’s damages would require many souls, repairing puppets would require a lot of souls and spirituality, as well as a piece of Source Material.

"Primordial Soil"!

"Primordial Soil" is the core material in constructing puppets. After inevitable destruction, the Source Material would disappear and could randomly appear anywhere in the world, with the odds of finding it again being exceptionally slim.

However, "Primordial Soil" is not unique; in fact, most Source Materials exist in multiples, with only an extremely rare few being unique.

And this Source Material representing the "earth" attribute is the most abundant.

Even if Rod could not find it, he could utilize the power of Trolian to help him search.
