The Last King Of Darkness -

Chapter 566: Chapter 345: The Former Master_2
Even by devouring just a part, one could achieve tremendous growth.
This led to, in the long years that followed, the strong becoming stronger and the weak growing weaker.
The Book of Knowledge said that the Nightmare Master Latotip was a powerful ancient ruler, which meant it was truly very strong, much stronger than one could imagine.
Feeling a heaviness in his heart, Rod asked, "How strong?"
"By your standards, it’s at the Strong Level Super Rank. A monster without a Strong Source cannot become King Level, as they lack the requisite position."
Rod now understood that "position" represented an entity’s fundamental rule-based status, determining the fundamental issue of its energy level hierarchy.
A "high position" held an overwhelming advantage over a "low position," especially in terms of characteristics.
However, there were exceptions under certain circumstances.
Super Rank was one such exception.
It indicated that the monster had surpassed the normal power level of its tier.
Especially for the Strong Level Super Rank, all beings below the King could be classified under it.
The huge disparity in power also made it Trolian’s most terrifying monster hierarchy.
And the fact that the Nightmare Master Latotip was of the Strong Level Super Rank meant that its power was difficult to estimate accurately but did not illuminate much else.
Rod fell silent for a few seconds before asking, "Can we kill it?"
The Book of Knowledge wrote, "I’m not sure. Currently, the Dream Realm has only 40 points of Divinity, only enough for four Spirit Realm Strikes. Whether it can be killed depends on the strength of your King."
Rod didn’t hesitate much and immediately made a decision.
"Attack!"
The Book of Knowledge questioned, "What if we don’t manage to kill it? The prophecy at Star Square is only a possibility and doesn’t guarantee we can accomplish this."
"Attack even if we can’t eliminate it."
"We’ll be at a loss. Even if we resolve this crisis successfully, we only gain 30 points of Divinity but spend 40 points. If it’s not killed by the Dream Realm, we can’t collect souls, meaning we’ll be down 10 points of Divinity for nothing."
"Then so be it. Let’s be at a loss."
"Are you a fool?"
The Book of Knowledge wrote in the boldest font possible:
"Do you know how precious 10 points of Divinity are? That’s a Resurrection Stone, a share of Soul Firewood!"
Rod didn’t hesitate and turned around, striding into the cabin.
He left the Book of Knowledge behind, its pages aimlessly fluttering, not understanding why its usually hesitant and indecisive master had suddenly become so resolute.
Inside the cabin.
On the pure white Light Platform, a spherical pattern made of connected starlight quietly floated.
The obscure light enveloped it, giving it a mysterious and profound appearance, as if it were a corner of the boundless universe.
This was the Star Core; the Spirit Realm Strike was locked on and emitted from it.
Rod touched the mysterious starlight using the method he remembered.
The next instant, his perspective shot up infinitely high, bursting out of the Dream Realm and surveying the entire Spirit Realm.
The City of Chaos was still filled with pale grey mist.
But based on the position, the Dream Realm’s bubble had already deviated from its set course, causing more disturbances to the Spirit Realm.
Turning his gaze, Rod saw that the speckled lights he had seen before were now gone.
As he wondered, Rod felt something jump onto his hand and a message came through.
"Master, please wait. I’m adjusting the search range of the Star Core to find the traces of the Nightmare Master."
Rod smiled and said, "Book, are you not angry?"
The Book of Knowledge replied discontentedly, "Do you think I’m someone who doesn’t appreciate kindness? As such an outstanding book, I am naturally the most outstanding attendant by my master’s side. That Aphro fellow is not worthy of comparing to me... cough, my wisdom has already grasped the master’s intention. Humanity’s strength is the root of everything. Even if we lose Divinity temporarily, it will be returned many times over in the future."
Rod said with delight, "Book, you’re really smart, to have comprehended this."
The Book of Knowledge boasted proudly, "Of course, nothing is wiser than I am."
Rod chuckled, "I hope so."
After a moment of silence,
The Book of Knowledge suddenly blurted out a question, "When did you find out?"
Rod smiled, "Although you can’t tell, both Divinity and Humanity are so intricately linked with humans. I’ve guessed some of it."
Another silence followed, then the Book of Knowledge blurted out again, "There are no accidents for the Master of Dreams."
Rod smiled but did not speak.
Before long, Rod saw a twinkling point in the endless mist.
It was very distant, flickering in and out of sight behind the thick fog, moving at a clearly noticeable speed.
The Book of Knowledge immediately shouted, "Locked on! That is the Nightmare Master Latotip!"
Rod’s heart tensed, anxiously asking, "It’s moving, won’t the Spirit Realm Strike miss?"
"No! As long as it’s locked on, the Spirit Realm Strike is guaranteed to hit!"
"It won’t accidentally harm the soul of the King, will it?"
"It won’t!"
Rod was reassured and focused his attention, casting his gaze on the light.
The monster’s information flooded into his mind.
"Nightmare Master Latotip."
Good.
It’s you!
The Light Platform sensed his will, the Star Core guided his line of sight—as if wielding a long spear across the starry sky, Rod stretched out his tentacles of will and clearly watched as a grain of light shot out, piercing the mist of the Spirit Realm, breaking through the barriers of space, trailing a long tail, and striking the twinkling light point.
Divinity -10
The light point erupted with intense light, leaving behind a small pale-white trail.
