The Last King Of Darkness -
Chapter 524 - 328: Pioneer of Destruction
Chapter 524: Chapter 328: Pioneer of Destruction
Rod’s Spiritual Energy had approached 500 thousand units, the immense power granted him tremendous strength, and his Heavy Strike went straight through the ground layers and hit the Big King Ant.
Lannis immediately realized that Rod had found the target and shouted, "Spread out! Engage in battle!"
Almost simultaneously, the ground bulged, and a Demonized Ant that was several times larger than the usual King Ants leaped out.
An intense Spiritual Power Wave burst forth from the soil, hitting everyone’s faces like a heavy punch.
Anna, with the weakest spiritual power, fainted on the spot. Rod, reacting extremely quickly, grabbed her and leapt backwards, but was still hit by the incoming Insect Scythe.
The Flesh Armor shattered upon impact, the Spiritual Defense pierced in an instant, Cilly screamed, "Rod!"
But in the next moment, a flash of gray light burst from Rod’s body, and the powerful, Spiritual Energy-infused Insect Scythe deflected off him like it had hit a smooth pebble, sending Rod flying.
Lannis saw clearly that the blade’s edge slid across the surface of his skin, tearing through his clothes and armor, but it did not wound his flesh.
"Is this his lousy defense?"
Lannis murmured to himself, finding the name bizarre and unbelievable.
Although the Soul Defense blocked the lethal attack, it did not completely absorb the impact; Rod was sent flying more than a hundred yards outward, rolling across the ground with Anna in his arms for over a dozen rolls before coming to a halt.
This poor girl had already reverted to her original form, her complexion pale, eyes tightly closed, breathing weak, but fortunately, her heart was still beating, and her soul had not suffered fatal damage; she had merely passed out.
Thinking to himself, "That was no ordinary Spiritual Power Wave; it was more like some kind of special Spiritual Power Shock. If your Spiritual Power Strength falls below a certain threshold, you’d be knocked out instantly."
Putting Anna down and standing up, Rod saw that the others had already engaged in battle with the Big King Ant from afar.
Cilly, holding a silver greatsword, was at the forefront, slashing and hacking fiercely, drawing bright trails in the air with her blade.
Lannis was surrounded by a Gale, with tiny Wind Blades shooting out from his body, and in his hands, he wielded a massive, transparent wind sword, attacking the Big King Ant from a position just behind Cilly.
Mephit was extending one hand, aiming at the Big King Ant, continually invoking Cold Ice, as the surroundings began to be touched by bits of frost.
The Big King Ant, covered in thick armor, braving the frost and grappling with the two Hall Warriors, moved extremely fast. Its long Insect Scythe was imbued with Spiritual Energy, and each strike was like thunder, forcing the two to retreat repeatedly.
Suddenly, the Big King Ant let out a long cry, and once again, a powerful Spiritual Energy stormed towards them like a tempest.
Rod immediately activated his Spiritual Defense, but still felt like he had been squarely hit by a heavyweight boxer.
Lannis, who was closer, was blown off his feet, and Mephit had to interrupt his Cold Ice and leap hundreds of yards away.
Only Cilly, with relatively strong Spiritual Energy, withstood the shock. She was still dizzy and disoriented, her Spiritual Energy disrupted, and it took her three breaths to stabilize her Spiritual Energy just as the Big King Ant’s black Insect Scythe broke through the air toward her.
In that critical moment, the silver sword in Cilly’s hand instantly transformed into a shield, and her Spiritual Energy surged, her defenses fully activated.
With a loud bang, the clash of immense Spiritual Energy stirred up a gust of wind that instantly whipped up sand and stones from the ground, obscuring the Black Fog with the color of dust for a hundred yards around.
Cilly was propelled away by the force, feeling a numbness in her hand and an uncontrollable trembling of her Spiritual Energy. A wave of weakness washed through her soul, leaving her somewhat powerless.
Fortunately, Rod sent several Star Shuttles flying from behind, diverting the Big King Ant’s attention.
Lannis leaped up from the ground, his face pale.
The peril of the recent battle was still vivid before his eyes. Had there been any slight miscalculation, someone might have died right there.
This was not like the pre-battle intelligence; while the Big King Ant’s Spiritual Energy was strong, it shouldn’t have been quite to this extent — just two rounds of Spiritual Power Shocks had nearly wiped them out.
"Could it be the result of a frenzy?"
Lannis thought, unfurling a Gale to continuously shoot Wind Blades at the Big King Ant that was pursuing Rod.
Cilly took several seconds to recover, her heartbeat finally calming down, and she shouted anxiously, "Little Lann! What the hell is going on? I don’t remember Big King Ants having the characteristic of Spiritual Power Shock?"
Lannis frowned, a flicker of a thought crossing his mind, but it slipped away without being grasped.
Rod shouted, "Hurry and help me!"
The Big King Ant’s assault was relentless like a sudden storm; Rod barely held his ground with the Star Light Shield and Star Light Long Sword he had conjured. His physical combat level was already quite high, but there was still a gap compared to those warriors who depended on physical combat for survival.
If not for the sturdiness of creatures formed from Star Line conjunctions, and the protection of his Flesh Armor and Soul Defense, he wouldn’t have been able to withstand it at all.
"I’m coming!"
Cilly yelled, darting into the fray like lightning, taking her position in front of Rod.
Lannis followed close behind her like a shadow.
Angered, Cilly snapped, "You lying jerk! Don’t stay so close to me! Your Wind Blades hurt!"
While speaking, she swung her silver greatsword as if it were a ferocious wind, barely blocking the Big King Ant’s fierce onslaught.
Lannis silently moved back a bit, using his wind sword and Wind Blades to assist her through the gaps.
Rod backed away, his fingertips sparkling with Starlight, one fully-formed Star Shuttle after another coalesced, hurtling towards the Big King Ant.
The Star Shuttles, with over ten thousand revolutions and one hundred Star Lines, were incredibly powerful. The impact of their detonation could paralyze a portion of the Big King Ant’s Spiritual Energy, and the Star Dust scattered from the hundred Star Lines nearly covered half of the Big King Ant’s body.
