The Last King Of Darkness
Chapter 504 - 320: Communication

Chapter 504: Chapter 320: Communication

What?

Rod almost doubted what he saw.

This inexplicably appearing thing spoke a few nonsensical words and then died just as mysteriously.

Yet, it turned out to be a soul fragment of the Ancient God of Destiny?

Rod arrived at the Soul Altar and instantly noticed that soul.

It was unlike any other soul; the entire soul body shimmered in gold from the inside out.

Whereas all other souls, no matter what color they appeared in Spiritual Vision, turned into a dull gray mist at the Soul Altar.

Why was it so special? Was it because of the Ancient God?

But the last time the regeneration of the Ancient God Heragotos’s remnant soul was also gray and misty.

Rod wanted to ask the Book of Knowledge, but the creature had not awoken yet and had been asleep for several days.

He hoped this time it would recover a bit more.

Rod thought.

It would be best if it could fully recover all at once, as that would make many things easier, and many questions wouldn’t need to be paid for.

The characteristic of the Book of Knowledge itself was to acquire knowledge at a cost. Initially, Rod had to feed it something whenever he asked any question, which was very troublesome and expensive.

But once its soul had recovered a part, it suddenly became much easier to use.

The need for payment lessened, and most of the time it only required Spirituality, something Rod had in abundance. Sacrificing a powerful Monster Soul could yield a lot of Spirituality; even if the book were to burst, it couldn’t consume it all.

Sigh.

Wake up soon, I am still waiting to go hunt Spirit Realm Monsters and other remains of the regeneration of the Ancient God.

Rod sighed inwardly and focused his gaze on the soul fragment of the Ancient God of Destiny.

[A part of the soul fragment of the Ancient God of Destiny, Yanosadag]

[From the Ancient God Yanosadag]

[Great Soul]

[Possesses one Source]

[This is a soul fragment torn off and formed into a twisted entity after mutation]

A surge of excitement hit Rod, and he couldn’t help but slap his hands together sharply.

Great!

I finally have a Great Soul.

The three Great Souls required for the full state of the "Star Shuttle" are now completed by one-third.

And it even has a Source.

Rod was overjoyed. He had never expected to receive such a gift while sleeping in the Dream Realm.

Who could be so generous?

Not noticing anything unusual in the Dream Realm, Rod decided to go out and see.

With a thought, his consciousness instantly returned to the Material World.

Opening his eyes, the Medical Room was empty, but the strong smell of blood hit his nose immediately.

Rod immediately stood up and saw the flesh and blood all over the floor and a headless corpse lying on the ground.

The body had not disappeared, proving this was a human.

He was dressed in the medical staff’s uniform, obviously an internal member of the Lighthouse.

Rod frowned.

Why would an internal member of the Lighthouse be killed? Was it related to that twisted soul?

At that moment, a few logistical staff ran in and were so frightened that they sat on the ground the moment they saw Rod.

"What happened here?"

Rod asked, frowning.

"What happened?"

Seemingly reassured by his rational tone, the logistical staff’s faces relaxed slightly, and they tentatively asked, "Your Excellency, how are you feeling?"

"Feeling about what? What happened to me?"

"Miss Cilly said an Evil Spirit had possessed you and that you needed to be sent back to the Soul Church for emergency treatment immediately."

"I was possessed by an Evil Spirit?" whispered Rod, his heart stirring. Could it be that soul?

He remained silent for a few seconds, noticing some staff members carrying a stretcher and others holding cleaning tools, obviously here to clean the floor.

"Do you know what happened?"

The logistical staff glanced at each other. "We don’t know anything; Miss Cilly informed us to come over to carry a body."

"Where are Cilly and Lannister?"

"They went outside the tower, said they needed to contact the Guardian urgently."

Rod nodded, lightened his body, and in a blink, he was outside the Lighthouse.

Just then, a huge deep red light burst overhead, the pure red light piercing through the Black Fog, turning everything red.

Cilly and Lannister stood side by side outside the tower, staring at the deep red light, momentarily speechless.

"Hey... "

Rod had just uttered a word when he startled the two.

Cilly immediately turned around; a large silver sword appeared in her hand instantaneously.

And Lannister had already ascended halfway into the air, with a Gale howling around him.

"It’s me..."

But the two did not relax their guard. Lannister scoffed, "I didn’t expect you to wake up so soon, but we’ve already sent the signal. The Guardian will be here soon, and you can’t escape."

Rod quickly explained, "It’s me, I am Rod. I have digested that twisted spirit. You don’t need to call for backup."

Lannister calmly said, "Do you think I’m a fool?"

A flash of inspiration struck Rod, and he smiled, "Do you still remember what you told me on the Floating carriage? You said you had a lot of time and wouldn’t lose to me."

Lannister’s fair face flushed instantaneously, nearly falling from the sky.

Cilly glared furiously, "Have you no shame?"

Lannister stabilized himself in midair and spoke flatly, "Sorry, although an hour really isn’t long, Cilly wasn’t very satisfied, but you lasted even less than me; Cilly told me she was more unsatisfied with you."

Cilly’s fur bristled, but upon catching Lannister’s subtle glance, she closed her mouth.
