The Last King Of Darkness -
Chapter 428 - 286: Flatten
Chapter 428: Chapter 286: Flatten
Before setting off, Rod had obtained enough information through the "Book of Knowledge" that the Chaos Demon in the Isone Ruins was in a dormant state, allowing Mephit to confidently gather the other monsters.
His plan, on the other hand, was to place the Thunder Stone on the Chaos Demon and detonate it.
To make the plan more effective, Rod had even spent a Sun Crystal to acquire the Chaos Demon’s weakness from the "Book of Knowledge."
Its Spiritual Defense was much weaker at the point of weakness than at other locations, and piercing it was very likely to cause flaws in its soul.
A Weakness Strike performed during its dormant state might directly kill it.
As Rod had predicted, the plan went much smoother than he had imagined. Mephit, under the Calamity Curse, attracted more monsters than a hundred tons of Corrosive Material.
The entire Isone Ruins stirred, and countless bizarre black crawling creatures overlapped and trampled each other, forming a black tidal wave rushing toward her.
After several collaborations with Rod, Mephit had further mastered the skill of gathering monsters. She used a series of arcing trajectories to perfectly direct the monsters into the waves behind her, compressing them as closely as possible as long as she moved fast enough.
Even though Mephit wasn’t as fast as Anna, her speed far surpassed that of a typical Fierce Level monster.
The commotion grew increasingly intense, the number of monsters increased, and in just a moment, the entire black sea was swirling around her.
The spectacle was incredibly grand, seldom witnessed by anyone.
Rod, watching all this from afar, was filled with awe.
Without Mephit, all this would have been much more troublesome.
She truly was my best partner.
Ha ha.
Using the Eye of the Soul, Rod quickly found a bulging black hill.
It looked unremarkable from the outside, but it was actually the dormant Chaos Demon. During this unusual heavenly phenomenon, some powerful monsters entered a dormant state to avoid unfavorable environments.
A monster in dormancy, whether in spirit or Spiritual Energy, was in a hibernation state, highly similar to the surrounding environment and exceedingly difficult to detect.
But for Rod, it wasn’t challenging. As long as he was within 300 yards, the Eye of the Soul could detect any abnormal states.
Rod stepped onto the hill, the rugged, flaky stone forest under his feet was actually the Chaos Demon’s scalp.
He stood on the Chaos Demon’s head and sent a signal flare into the sky.
The rising Spiritual Energy signal flare silently released a deep red glow, and the surging black sea immediately turned toward him.
Rod pulled a dose of Spirituality from the Dream Realm, drew a summoning circle, and with a thought, a huge box containing a million Thunder Stones smashed onto the Chaos Demon’s head.
Chaos Demon: Zzzzzz
Inside the huge box were countless smaller boxes, each one sealed with a translucent crystal.
Only in this way could the Energy-filled Thunder Stones be prevented from dissipating or detonating prematurely.
Rod jumped onto the top of the box.
Mephit was approaching from the front.
The two exchanged a look and said nothing. In that moment of eye contact, everything was understood.
Mephit brushed past him, while Rod summoned a large number of Wood Puppets and Flesh Puppets. They intertwined with each other, forming a sturdy barrier.
Seconds later, the black sea surged past them, and the huge box, like a stubborn reef, forcefully split the monstrous tide, standing firm amid the black waves.
Rod stood at the top of the reef, wrestling with the rising black spray while the Flesh Puppets and Wood Puppets remained immovable, enduring the monster attacks. Their tough bodies were hard to break momentarily.
Whoosh!
Rod chopped off a Black Blood Beast’s head with a sword, and with a powerful blow of the shield with his right hand, he knocked down three Black Blood Beasts.
With a Star Longsword in one hand and a Star Shield in the other, he stood at the top of the reef like a War God, fiercely slaughtering the approaching monsters.
Today, the Fierce Level monsters couldn’t withstand his single strike; the Eighth Level Spiritual Energy gave him ample power to easily pierce through their Spiritual Defense. The longsword and shield, woven from starlight, were extraordinarily sturdy, indestructible as long as his Spiritual Energy was unbroken.
But the monsters were endless, and those he killed were just a few splashes out of the whole.
Rod glanced back.
In the distance, Mephit had already mounted Anna and escaped out of the danger zone.
She should be safe now.
Rod thought and, with a move, the sealed crystals silently evaporated, releasing a million Thunder Stones from their sealed state. The massive wave of Spiritual Power erupted like a volcanic eruption.
The fully charged Thunder Stones had only seconds from activation to detonation. Although Rod had the Resurrection Stone, he sought to conserve wherever possible.
The Teleportation Gate of the "Spirit Boat" was still cooling down, and Rod couldn’t possibly escape the blast range in time. It would be too much of a pity to be blown up like that since Divinity was very precious, and little of it remained.
But he had been prepared.
Rod leaped into the black sea, his Star Longsword creating a swath of starlight, clearing a path. Then, shrinking down, he slipped through the fissures of the black hill and burrowed under the body of the Chaos Demon.
You big fool, let’s see if you can withstand these million Thunder Stones.
Rod thought.
The Spiritual Energy overhead reached its limit, and the gigantic body of the Chaos Demon, mountainous in scale, stirred slightly, as if awakening.
But it was too late, Rod quickly covered his ears.
The next moment, an explosion as devastating as a mountain collapsing and a tsunami erupted right above the demon’s head.
