Chapter 387: Chapter 269 An Indomitable Alliance_2
A moment of silence.
"Hey...you can let go now."
Molly glanced at him with no intention of releasing her grip.
Rod wanted to forcefully pull away, his Spiritual Power Level was one level higher than Molly’s, so he could have done it.
However, he was afraid of tearing the Wind Black Silk, an unusually rare equipment that also had a self-cleaning feature, requiring no washing. It had been specifically tailored for him by Archbishop Horus, considering long-term combat scenarios.
Rod scratched his head, feeling that maybe he had touched it too much and Molly was angry, so he closed his eyes and instantly entered the Dream Realm, taking out that precious Life Potion.
"Here, this is for you."
Molly’s expression flickered for a moment as she took the pure white potion and examined it closely.
"This is a Life Potion... one of the high-grade Spiritual Power Potions, why are you giving it to me? You’re the one who needs growth most."
Rod smiled, "I’ve consumed too many, and my soul is somewhat overwhelmed. Besides, your puppet manipulation Characteristic especially needs Spiritual Energy, and driving the Wind Black Silk also consumes a lot."
"I’ve specifically researched, your Characteristic, if fully developed, could significantly enhance possessed individuals and even directly control monster actions. Hence, this potion is perfect for you."
Molly fell silent, her delicate face still stern and impassive, seemingly indifferent, but her actions contradicted her expressions. She leaned forward and gave him a light kiss on the cheek.
Rod exclaimed, "Wow, is there such a perk too? Your lips are so moist... Uh, can you let go now?"
Molly’s expression remained serious, she pushed up her gold-rimmed glasses and spoke in a tone like she was educating a student.
"You can slide in a little."
Rod looked at her in surprise, "Is that appropriate? Don’t forget I am—"
Molly said indifferently, "If I’m willing, then it’s appropriate."
Perhaps today something good was going to happen, but a super fat man broke the warming atmosphere just then.
"Lord Rod, long time no see, your vigor and blood still look so vibrant."
A booming voice came from outside the hall.
Mahara’s obese figure squeezed in through the doorway, his face full of fat striving to appear friendly.
Molly almost instantly turned into a mist and hid inside Rod’s body, not revealing a trace.
Rod coughed.
"It’s Mr. Mahara."
Mahara approached with a broad smile and hugged Rod so tightly that he nearly pushed him into his flesh.
"Lord Rod, please allow me this unforgettable embrace to commemorate our first official meeting."
Molly’s mist silently transferred from Rod to Mahara, flew out from behind him, and reverted to her human form.
She walked away lightly, then came back seriously and said.
"Mr. Mahara."
"I must remind you, Lord Rod is now a prospective Elder, and according to the Royal City’s audience rules, you should kneel halfway and kiss his fingertips."
Mahara released the nearly suffocated Rod, feigning surprise, "Wow! Lord Rod has been promoted as a prospective Elder, truly a boundless future, a young hero indeed..."
Molly looked at him sternly without a word.
Mahara laughed dryly, raising his hand to kiss her hand.
"Miss Molly, we are old acquaintances, don’t be so strict..."
Molly ignored his gesture and commanded in an authoritative tone, "According to the Royal City’s rules, I am the Chief Assistant of a prospective Elder, as well as a District-level Governor. You must kneel to salute me."
Mahara paused, not understanding why Miss Molly was being so unforgiving today.
He turned his eyes, and suddenly thought of something, quickly coming to an understanding and immediately bent his knee to kneel.
"Meeting Miss Molly, may your beauty and passion endure forever."
Molly lifted her smooth, delicate hand.
Mahara’s huge lips kissed her hand, almost as though devouring it.
Then, Mahara turned, bowed to Rod, and resolutely lifted his right hand to kiss his fingertips.
This was quite challenging as his mouth was larger than Rod’s entire palm.
Rod felt as if an ogre had bitten him, swiftly withdrawing his hand and unnoticed, wiped it behind his back.
Mahara stood up, gave Rod a secretive smile, and said, "Lord Rod, I wonder if you’re available for a discussion now?"
Rod hummed inwardly, thinking now I have no choice but to be free.
"Go ahead."
Mahara coughed.
Rod, understanding, smiled, "Molly is one of us, feel free to speak."
Mahara had a look of expected relief, cleared his throat, and his expression turned serious, "I don’t know if you’re aware, but the King has stayed out of the public eye for over a month now."
Rod furrowed his brow, he seemed to remember Horus mentioning this.
"I know."
Mahara continued, "Outsiders say the King is indulged in women, beguiled by Lilith, but in my view, that’s unlikely. The King’s wisdom is beyond imagination; he deeply loved his wife Ove, and during her lifetime, he never had any other partners. Even after her passing, he has never forgotten her."
Rod asked in surprise, "How do you know?"
Mahara smiled slightly, his cheeks quivering continuously.
"Merchants have received several anonymous commissions to carve Elf Flowers from whole Star Light Ruby, a very challenging task. Star Light Ruby is hard yet brittle, usually ground into powder for use, only merchants have the means to do it."
