Chapter 258: Chapter 182: The Great Savior_3
The orderly loudly repeated his words once again.
But Tyrion showed no joy; his eyes were filled with suspicion.
"How could they be repairing? Why is it that they will have the capability after seven clock hours?"
The orderly answered, "It is said that a Spell trusted aide supported them, using the Dragon Tooth Barrier to protect the fortress."
"What?"
Tyrion nearly jumped up.
"Dragon Tooth Barrier? Is this Spell trusted aide an idiot? How could a Strategic Level Spell be used like this? He should have reported to me first, allowing me to decide how to use it! I have a thousand ways to get better results, damn it! I’ll take him to the Judgement Court!"
The orderly asked, "Commander, what should we do now?"
A storm erupted in Tyrion’s mind for an instant; this was the only piece of good news, giving him a glimmer of hope.
And the most excellent commanders were those who could seize that faint glimmer of hope, magnify it, and ultimately achieve victory.
"What to do, what to do, what to do?"
Tyrion started to cast spells, as countless ideas and possibilities collided in his thoughts; he was trying to find the best way to salvage this disheartening situation.
Just then, another orderly charged in.
"Commissar Shireen has led the personnel from the No. 3 Fortress back safely!"
"Good!" Tyrion shouted as he pounced in front of the sand table, his large nose nearly plunged into the sand, "The turning point has finally arrived! It’s time to demonstrate my unrivaled wisdom!"
The Commander’s aide asked, "How did Shireen return so quickly? There are many monster clusters near the No. 3 Fortress, as I recall."
The orderly replied, "She said a rogue Spell trusted aide helped them, and although he saved many lives, she still intends to report him to the Disciplinary Committee for a fair settlement. She’s heading there now."
"What are you talking about?" The aide was completely confused, "Tell me the detailed account of what happened."
The orderly quickly began to recount the story, and the more the aide heard, the deeper his frown became.
"Great Sunlight? Tenth Level Spell? Is it Lord Theodore’s Soul Ripple? Is this Spell trusted aide a pig? Using Great Sunlight like this, Lord Theodore will kill him!"
Tyrion was stomping and beating his chest even more, "Who is this idiot? Such a waste!"
However, the aide felt something was very wrong, "What is happening to Lord Theodore now? After the fall of Laisuo City, didn’t he disappear? The Investigation Legion’s search team has gone out six times and found no trace of them; the Spell trusted aides suffered heavy casualties, but there’s no sign of the Guard Knights and Lord Theodore himself."
Tyrion also furrowed his brows.
"Even if Lord Theodore was unharmed, his Spiritual Energy should be greatly depleted. How could he still emit a Soul Ripple? If he ordered his trusted aides to support us, then where is he himself? Is there any news from him at Iron Armor Fortress?"
The orderly shook his head, "No, Lord Alan has restored the fortress defenses and is in full effort to recapture our positions."
This was the only good news in the entire battlefield, and the reason they had persevered up to this point.
However, the situation was still precarious; Iron Armor Fortress was still in a state of isolation, its function greatly diminished without the recovery of external positions.
And the fall of Laisuo City had cast a severely negative impact.
If Byron Old City were to fall as well, the Royal City would have no choice but to move the defense center of the western line back, resulting in immeasurable losses.
This was the reason Tyrion felt such a mountainous pressure.
But now, there was a slight turn in the situation.
Hold Iron Sword Fortress was too important; it stood as a perfect barrier to the southwest of the Old City and could support dozens of positions behind.
The third fortress surviving with its personnel meant he had more forces to deploy.
"There’s still a chance!"
Bright light shone from Tyrion’s eyes.
"I will use my supreme wisdom to maneuver this game."
Just then, yet another orderly rushed in.
"Commander! A message has come from Flying Dragon Castle: they’ve cleared out the Serpentman cluster and held the castle!"
"What?" Tyrion could hardly believe his ears, "What exactly is happening, give me the details."
After listening to the orderly, Tyrion felt puzzled for the first time, "Why is it all Spell trusted aides?"
But soon, more news came back.
"Commander, Corner Light Lighthouse has held fast!"
"Commander, Jida Fortress has been restored!"
"Commander, Kulun Tower has won a complete victory!"
"Commander..."
"Commander..."
With each piece of good news, all the dimmed points on the sand table began to shine, leaving only Byron Old City itself still in peril.
The entire operation command room fell silent, save for the sound of the aide operating the sand table.
Smack!
Tyrion slapped the aide hard.
"Wrong, it’s not painful, this must be a dream. I must be too tired..."
The aide slapped him back sternly, "Does it hurt now?"
Tyrion opened his eyes wide.
"Is this real?"
"Where did so many Spell trusted aides come from?"
"Do they all have a Ripple?"
The aide frowned and said, "Is it possible that they are all one person?"
"This... this..."
Tyrion’s lips twitched, but he still did not speak.
Lord Theodore was the miracle child of the previous generation, he created miracles as plentiful as the hairs of a bull; nobody dared say that with a single Soul Ripple, he couldn’t achieve these feats.
"Damn it all!"
Tyrion suddenly cursed, "This prodigal, misusing spells. If he’s here, I’ll have to rebuke him in person! Instruct him on how to use these Strategic Level Spells..."
"My Lord Commander!" An orderly dashed in, "Someone claiming to be a Spell trusted aide has arrived! He’s in the hall, wanting to see you!"
Tyrion immediately dashed out, everyone following behind him.
Soon they reached the hall and laid eyes on the young Spell trusted aide.
Tyrion hurried forward and bowed deeply in a full 360 degrees.
"My lord trusted aide, you are truly our savior..."
