The Last King Of Darkness
Chapter 250 - 179 Great Sunlight

Chapter 250: Chapter 179 Great Sunlight

What is this sorcery?

Rod had finally understood what a "thunderstrike at the beginning" meant.

The Dream Realm had always been his private domain, never visited by any real guests.

Theodore was the first.

But why is everyone else a Soul Fire? Why are you a Spiritual Body?

Others can only quietly stay on the Soul Altar, sealed within the Crystal Wall, yet you can move around?

And besides a certain person, no one else has self-consciousness, nor can anyone observe the Dream Realm. Why can you?

Rod could hardly believe his eyes; he even left the Dream Realm and entered it again.

But the Dean’s Spiritual Body still hadn’t disappeared; it even came up to him to take a closer look.

"...A very peculiar Spiritual Body, just like the person himself... It’s truly miraculous, the legends are actually true."

Rod cautiously took a step back, looking up at the Spiritual Body formed from white mist, and asked with a complex tone,

"Dean Theodore... is that you? Are you alright?"

The Spiritual Body displayed a familiar smile, albeit a bit blurry surrounded by the faint mist, but the familiar feeling was undiminished.

"It’s me, little Rod, don’t be afraid... My soul is very special, having undergone multiple transformations, once fed on the only portion of the Undying Spring, possessing a part of the Undead traits. Only by completely destroying the soul would I embrace death, and to think, your Dark Devourer actually had a soul-reaping effect."

"That’s why you can see me like this."

There’s such a thing?

So I’m carrying an old man with me everywhere?

But since the Dream Realm is connected to my mind, could he be spying on my thoughts? How am I supposed to watch Olivia Goddess’s movie? How are the girls supposed to spend the nights with me?

Rod felt very conflicted, but overall, overwhelming joy still prevailed.

"Dean Theodore, what condition are you in now? Does any darkness still exist?"

Theodore pondered briefly, "It seems to be a very special state of the Spiritual Body. The darkness within the soul seems to have dissipated with my death, as has the uncontrolled sensation of the spirit."

Rod exclaimed happily, "Then can you be resurrected? For instance, if I create a new body for you, and you return by borrowing that body, then wouldn’t a brand new Special Level Combatant return?"

Theodore’s Spiritual Body slightly shook its head.

"Little Rod, your understanding of souls is still insufficient. In the system of the soul, the soul is the carrier, possessing all power and energy, it is the substantial existence of the soul."

"The spirit is the will, our thoughts, thinking, self; the extension of the spirit is the mind, it determines our characteristics."

"The spirit and soul are inseparable; most abilities that plunder souls essentially destroy the soul to absorb fragments of the soul body. Your Dark Devourer is different, it plunders the soul in a special manner but is still incomplete, still splitting and changing the state of the soul."

"Such change is irreversible, just like a cow, when you cook it, it is also removed from the ranks of the living, and so it is with the soul; the true soul only exists within its body."

"I can only be considered a collection of consciousness, with no possibility of resurrection."

Theodore paused, then continued.

"Of course, you may be able to use these remains to create a new Theodore, but that will not be me, and the price would be countless times greater than cultivating ten strong individuals like Theodore."

Rod was very disappointed.

He had come up with a brilliant idea—to kill all the dying strong individuals and revive them one by one. That way, no one would die anymore, humans would keep multiplying, becoming increasingly numerous.

But clearly, except for a True God, no one could accomplish such a feat.

Theodore’s Spiritual Body smiled faintly, seemingly not disappointed at his inability to be resurrected.

"Little Rod, I truly didn’t expect that you would have this legendary existence; no wonder you are so special, so different from others..."

Something stirred in Rod’s heart, and he quickly asked, "Dean Theodore, do you know what this Dream Realm is?"

"I once saw its existence in the legend of the oldest manuscript. I thought it was just a legend; I didn’t expect it to be true... But I’m sorry, little Rod, I can’t tell you."

"Why?"

"The Dream Realm constrains my existence; it is trying to put me back on the right track. Perhaps my existence won’t last much longer, but that doesn’t matter. You can look up related documents in the Great Book Library and uncover the secrets of this Dream Realm yourself."

A chill ran through Rod’s heart: "What? Are you going to disappear?"

"Hmm, I’m not quite sure, but it’s not important. Importantly, I seem to be considered a part of the Dream Realm, and since the Dream Realm is a part of your soul, you should be able to sense my presence in your spirit."

Rod’s heart skipped a beat: "Are you saying..."

Theodore displayed that gentle smile again.

"Exactly, just like the buildings in the Dream Realm, you can use my abilities, utilize me in combat."

Rod quickly understood Theodore’s words.

Isn’t this just like "Eye of the Soul" or "Soul Blast"?

They are skills granted by the Soul Altar, and Rod naturally knew how to use them.

Now, Theodore had also become a "building," and Rod could use him as well, but he would still remain himself and would not transform into Theodore to gain his abilities from when he was alive.
