Chapter 181: Chapter 132 What is This Thing
Clang! Clang! Clang!
As if composed of heavy metals, the notes pounded heavily into the air, and a grand melody thus commenced.
Powerful Spiritual Energy surged like tidal waves, and the melody of Star Energy formed a terrifyingly huge cannon.
Bright yellow light spiraled in Rod’s right hand, and the phantom of the giant cannon aligned with his arm, pointing towards the Giant Chief Judge.
"A Spiritual Energy Cannon?"
For the first time, a look of surprise appeared on Gregor’s face.
"Energy increases in value in a staircase-like formation within the Void, surging and layering one upon another—such characteristics of Law are unheard of, bypassing the limit of Absolute Spiritual Power Strength."
"...No good, this is a new star, it must be extinguished, no one can stop the great Old Master’s descent!"
Gregor was about to move forward, but Mo’er’s soul entangled him.
His Twilight Eye was very troublesome, capable of bringing all energy towards sunset, making things slow, inefficient, filled with unusable Energy.
Mo’er himself also mastered high-level Soul Skills, his soul could directly leave his body, exposing and intensifying the influence of the Spirituality polluted by the characteristic of twilight.
But Gregor was not afraid, for an absolute difference in rank signified an absolute difference in strength.
All he needed to do was concentrate, clearly sense the Spiritual Energy, and drive out the parts not belonging to him.
Gregor confidently entered meditation, sensing his river of Spiritual Energy—impurities of yellow murkiness started appearing in the originally turbulent and clear river.
Just as he was about to clear it, suddenly, the Dean’s phantom leaped out from behind him, dual-wielding magic wands and landing a jump-slash squarely on his forehead.
A massive force created ripples in the air, Gregor’s huge face collapsed inwards.
"You!"
He turned around furiously, but the phantom had already dived into the ground.
It could freely switch between the ethereal and the material.
"Theodore, this old Undead, one day I will tear him into fragments!"
Gregor angrily enhanced his Spiritual Defense and entered meditation once again.
Mo’er’s soul let out agonized wails as his portion of Spiritual Body, tainted with yellow Spiritual Energy, was being expelled.
But in the next moment, a stream of purple mist billowed over, and a Rider Spear struck right between his eyebrows.
Accompanied by a potent effect of Spiritual Power Shock, Gregor opened his eyes, and the expulsion of his Spiritual Body was halted again.
His gaze swept towards the distant figure in purple armor, floating mid-air—Anna.
"Magic Release? This is Soul Armor... these kids are so troublesome."
The intense fluctuations of Spiritual Energy from afar told Gregor he had to annihilate that kid first.
"Forget it, kill him first, then I’ll deal with you."
Gregor mustered his Spiritual Energy, a strong acidic sensation surged up, hindering all his actions.
He sneered, forcing himself to step forward and walk towards Rod.
"Egger, quick, drag Rod away!"
Anna shouted, pulling out a Rider Spear from her back and tossing it.
Egger came to his senses as if awakened from a dream, turned to smoke, and dashed forward, dragging Rod away with him.
The Rider Spear hit Gregor once more, disrupting his Spiritual Energy circulation and cutting off his stride.
In that instant, Gregor knew trouble loomed; at his current speed, he couldn’t even catch up with a normal person.
He forcefully summoned his Spiritual Energy and backflowed into Mo’er’s soul.
This brought immense pain to Mo’er; he shrieked madly but did not give an inch, clinging tightly to Gregor, not loosening in the slightest.
The Spiritual Energy fluctuations from afar grew stronger, and Gregor, alarmed and enraged, shouted, "You old Undead! If you don’t let go, your soul will burst!"
Amidst the terrible cries of the soul, his voice came through intermittently.
"My... student, I... protect."
"Mr. Mo’er, run!"
Rod cried out, distracted. In his ears, the grand symphony was reaching its climax, four layers of sonorous waves poised to flood the fifth, with justice about to be served.
"Run! I’m about to fire!"
In the wild howling of the soul, Mo’er’s intermittent response came through.
"Must... must become... a new star, my student... beware!"
Bang.
Mo’er’s soul burst from the pressure of the powerful Spiritual Energy, Spirituality and Soul Body splattered everywhere, and with the loss of structural support, the spirit and soul quickly disintegrated, plummeting into the Void.
But within Gregor’s soul, there was already a substantial amount of polluted Spiritual Energy and fragments not of his own Spiritual Body.
This not only affected his Spiritual Energy circulation but also disrupted his normal activities.
He stumbled off to one side, but couldn’t escape the lock-on of the Spiritual Energy Cannon.
The aura of destruction bore down upon him.
Gregor shouted, "Wait, let’s talk, we can negotiate..."
"Negotiate with your ancestors for generations!"
Rod roared and the Spiritual Energy that had accumulated to its limit surged out like a sun’s white light, shooting forth.
Heaven and Earth seemed to tremble, the unmatched brilliance piercing through the darkness. The torrent of Spiritual Energy engulfed Gregor’s figure, pierced the Black Fog, and left a long trajectory in the sky at a very small angle.
All the surviving combatants stared dumbfounded at this miraculous scene.
When the white light descended, the upper half of Gregor’s body had been burned into a skeleton, only the legs below the knees remained intact.
After a few seconds of silence, cheering suddenly erupted, and the survivors rushed towards Rod, wanting to embrace their hero.
But Rod frowned tightly and shouted, "Wait! He’s not dead!"
The crowd jumped in shock and turned to look.
The tall half-skeleton, touched by a gentle breeze, collapsed to the ground, its bones an odd silver, like some sort of metal.
"Not dead?"
Those with heightened Spiritual Vision all activated their abilities, but there was no soul to be seen on the corpse.
"Why isn’t he dead?"
Rod found it hard to explain, but since he had not captured Gregor’s soul, he was certain he wasn’t dead.
"I feel he’s not dead! Destroy his corpse as well!"
Although they did not understand, Rod’s words at the moment held great authority, and several warriors immediately drew their weapons and rushed over.
But in the next instant, spiritual light flashed on the skeleton, and Spiritual Energy spread, the grey soul emerging from the head and extending downwards.
"Be careful!" Rod yelled.
The warriors immediately leaped back, but several streaks of cyan light appeared in the void, like a fence thrust around the warriors, firmly locking them in place.
The Giant skeleton stood up, and two orbs of Soul Fire burned in its eye sockets, an empty voice emanating from its throat.
"The little devils of today are getting outrageous, managing to strike down my trump card and even recognizing my soul hidden in the Void. I had thought of letting you live a little longer, but it seems there is no chance now."
He took a step forward, his movements still slow, clearly the effects of Mo’er had not fully dissipated.
The skeleton’s massive hand swung, and three warriors suddenly screamed violently as their flesh was stripped by an invisible force and flew into the Giant skeleton’s body.
Flesh gradually appeared on the silver skeleton.
What kind of monster is this?
A feeling of disbelief rose in Rod’s heart, the bright yellow stars in his soul dimming, and he couldn’t release the "Spiritual Power Fifth Layer Melody" a second time.
"Run, everyone run!"
The half-skeleton sneered, "Run?"
As the flesh flew into him, his movements got faster, and the last bit of murky Spiritual Energy was expelled from his body, the warriors’ screams fading, and a few seconds later, there was no sound at all.
Now, only a film of blood covered the skeleton.
"My flesh, how can you run?"
He transformed into a blood-red figure, appearing instantly before Rod. Cyan light emerged from the Void, firmly locking him in place.
The unformed Spirit Boat was instantly shattered.
The half-skeleton smirked, "Let me taste your flesh first!"
The hand covered in blood film touched Rod’s neck.
But a shocked expression appeared on Gregor’s ferocious face of flesh and blood: "What do you think you’re doing? Are you trying to compete in Spiritual Energy with me?"
The Spiritual Energy from the hand, which did not belong to him, not only interrupted his characteristic but also disrupted the movement of his arm.
Rod’s face turned crimson as he pumped all of his Spiritual Energy into his body.
He had no other means left, only Spiritual Energy.
Spiritual Energy marked with a strong Soul Mark could not be compatible and repelled each other.
If you could explode Mo’er’s soul, so can I explode yours!
However, Gregor’s expression became extremely strange as if he had seen something utterly ridiculous.
"A Ninth Level combatant, a Second Rank Spiritual Power user, trying to compete in Spiritual Energy with a Third Level combatant, a Ninth Rank Spiritual Power holder. And he just used a Spiritual Power cannon."
Gregor’s face twisted ferociously.
"Kid, you’re courting death!"
Even stronger High Rank Spiritual Energy surged up.
Although he had been severely injured and his Spiritual Energy weakened too much, crushing an ant was still effortless.
In an instant, Rod felt a colossal force push his Spiritual Energy back.
He gritted his teeth, and his mind instantly evoked the Blue Star in his soul, the brilliant blue light instantly illuminating his soul.
"Awakening"
A fierce storm of Spiritual Energy was called forth from the Void, boundless power pouring back into the soul, the sensation of emptiness and depletion vanishing instantly, powerful replenished Spiritual Energy surging upward.
The two forces of Spiritual Energy immediately stalemated, and furthermore, Rod’s Spiritual Energy was slowly pushing back.
The blood membrane on Gregor’s face couldn’t withstand his expressions and cracked open.
"What, what is this?"
