Even Ling Yichuan was taken aback!

The Shaughnessy neighbourhood in West Vancouver is one of the most expensive areas in all of Canada and a well-known wealthy district. Jian Anning had just said she lived there. Was she deliberately concealing her identity, or was there another reason?

Caught slightly off guard, Jian Anning had already walked ahead. Yu Zexiao, failing to spot her, even turned back and cursed, "Stupid woman, why are you walking so slowly? Hurry up!"

She also said that she and Yu Zexiao truly had no romantic feelings for each other and weren’t in a relationship.

But, how could such a woman, for some strange reason, travel all the way to Huaxia Country to become Yu Zexiao’s assistant, endure his bad temper, and be bossed around by him? It was simply... unimaginable!

What kind of woman was she, really? Did she have an ulterior motive, or was she after something else? Who was she exactly, how many of her statements were true and how many were false?

Only one thing was certain for Ling Yichuan—if she had indeed employed any tricks on Yu Zexiao, then with Xingxing’s naïve nature, she would definitely be devoured thoroughly by her.

This woman, if not truly foolish, was truly—terrifying!

A glint flashed in Ling Yichuan’s eyes. He decided that after he got back, he must thoroughly investigate this woman. If she did have a hidden agenda, then she couldn’t blame him for being ruthless!

Meanwhile, the Venus had already docked nearby. The evacuation, thanks to the timely preparations, was proceeding in an orderly and efficient manner.

The Venus resembled a cruise ship, only larger than Ling Yichuan’s yacht and with not as luxurious interiors. However, it seemed to be a private yacht as well, since the whole ship was deserted and didn’t bustle with tourists like a regular cruise liner.

The crew of Venus warmly welcomed them, offering not just hot tea but even pastries. Director Li, quick to think, saw this as yet another grand opportunity to get some media exposure. For a TV drama, an encounter with a disaster at sea was definitely great publicity! He had already instructed the cameraman to be ready to film everyone during the evacuation, adding to the shoot.

Plus, once on board, he also inquired with the crew about making phone calls? He wanted to report this incident to the media and try to turn it into explosive news by the time they returned to shore.
