Chapter 131 - 95 Good Cauldron

Chapter 131: Chapter 95 Good Cauldron

After she blamed herself enough, Changtian finally said, "Don’t be too upset; he did indeed want to swindle your money." Amidst her murderous, fiery gaze, he continued leisurely, "It’s just that, he also thought this furnace was a fake."

She picked up the furnace and examined it for a long while but couldn’t discern any clues, which made her feel somewhat gloomy. She felt as though there was an intelligence gap between herself and others: "Can we still play together happily? Start from the beginning!"

"I’ll demonstrate it for you, and then you’ll understand." With that, Changtian gestured with his hand, and the Pill Furnace flew to his side automatically. He held it up and scrutinized it for a moment, then with a corner of his mouth turned up, he slapped the lid of the furnace and shouted, "Lazy thing, wake up!"

In an instant, intense white light burst from the palm of his hand, almost blinding her. When she opened her eyes again, Changtian had already withdrawn his hand, silently gazing at the furnace.

From within came a "Pitter-patter" of tiny crackling sounds, as the Purple Gold Paint on the furnace burst into a turtle-like pattern of cracks, then flaked off, revealing the mottled bronze under-shell.

So this was the Small Tripod’s true form? It didn’t seem too appealing to the eye. As she was pondering, the layer of bronze began to peel off even faster than the Purple Gold Paint! And this time, the furnace was trembling while shedding its shell. It was really trembling, like a little bird shaking on a tree during a thunderstorm!

"Is this thing trying to make an appearance as an onion? Peeling off layer after layer," she cursed involuntarily. Just as she was speaking frankly, the bronze shell finally came off completely.

What presented itself before them now was a three-legged Small Tripod that looked even more unremarkable. It was round and chubby all over, the furnace body was pitch black, and light seemed to be absorbed into it upon contact, without reflecting back at all. Not a single intricate rune could be found on the body of the furnace; it only had a painting of a big tiger. This tiger looked odd, with porcupine-like fur, a lizard’s tail, fiery red eyes, and a pair of large wings on its back.

The Small Tripod had stopped trembling. Ning Xiaoxian leaned in to have a look, only to discover that the tiger painted on the furnace actually moved its eyeballs and glared at her with great effort.

"Ah!" She screamed, evidently quite shocked. Who wouldn’t be afraid of being stared down by blood-red eyeballs?

But the old tiger paid her no mind, stretched lazily, yawned, and then began to prowl around the body of the furnace. When it reached the front of the furnace, it finally saw Changtian.

"Shaking Heaven God!" The old tiger roared, making her ears buzz with vibration, and with that, it propelled the entire furnace towards him, "God, I’ve missed you so much, Lord Divine Monarch!" The happiness, excitement, and flattery in its roar made her skin crawl.

The furnace could actually speak and even recognized Changtian! This was the second time today that she was shocked enough to gape.

Changtian’s expression remained composed as he simply extended his slender, jade-like palm, and with a "plop," pressed the furnace that was pouncing towards him into the Demon Transformation Spring. This movement was done with such practiced ease; it looked as though he had done it countless times before.

"Ah, how nostalgic that felt! Lord Divine Monarch, I thought of you every single day for the past thirty thousand years!" The furnace, it seemed, did not produce sounds with a mouth because it still sounded loud and clear despite being submerged in the Demon Transformation Spring. Its voice, full of endless ecstasy, was shrill and trembling, making her shudder uncontrollably.

Changtian lifted it from the spring, turned the tiger on the furnace to face her, and then tossed the furnace to her: "This is your new master. From now on, you’ll serve her with all your might."

He turned to Ning Xiaoxian and said, "This is the Fu Yu Tripod. The old tiger on it is its Artifact Spirit. Don’t be fooled by its bizarre appearance; it is actually an excellent treasure for alchemy."

She and the old tiger on the furnace were eye to eye. After a while, the tiger sadly howled, "Lord Divine Monarch, she is just a mortal, and not even a mortal with an Immortal Spirit Root! Please allow me to return to your side, and to devote myself to you!"

The furnace was actually a snob too! What’s wrong with being a mortal, can’t a mortal use it for alchemy? Ning Xiaoxian’s eyes narrowed dangerously.

The old tiger, still oblivious, was flattering wave after wave, ceaselessly warming up to Changtian. It was a pity that this master was not impressed with this approach. Changtian brought together his thumb and second finger, and just like that, the old tiger’s mouth was sealed as if zipped shut, unable to utter another word.

"I’ve told you before. From now on, she is your master." Changtian’s voice was like jade striking stone, carrying an authoritative power that brooked no defiance, "Should you dare to harbor any disloyalty, I will extract your Divine Soul and refine it into nothingness!"
