Chapter 52 Deng Chanyu’s Cultivation

Chapter 52: Chapter 52 Deng Chanyu’s Cultivation

Nezha’s thoughts raced—how did this wandering Saint end up here? Without delay, he withdrew his spear, saluted, and said, "Disciple Li Nezha, under Lady Nuwa’s tutelage, greets Uncle-Master Saint Zhunti."

He then stood motionless, adopting a "do whatever you please, just don’t mess with me" attitude. If you call it fate, fine, as long as you don’t fate me away too.

Zhunti was quite pleased with Nezha’s attitude. With a wave of his sleeve, he captured Yuan Hong and said, "Uncle-Master doesn’t bully juniors. Here’s a copy of the Sutra of the Meditation on the Buddha of Infinite Life. Study it; you may find it rewarding."

After speaking, he glanced at Yu Yuan and the others. Hesitating momentarily, he chose not to "fate" them away but instead vanished into the horizon as if wandering away.

Nezha looked at the scripture in his hand and, without a second thought, tossed it into the Mountain and River Map. My devotion lies with my teacher—long live my teacher!

Watching the wandering saint and Huabei Saint disappear into the distance, Nezha’s eyes flashed with menace as he stared at Jin Dasheng and Dai Li. The two demons dared not meet his gaze, lowering themselves into their original forms—a large old ox and a big yellow dog—submissively returning to Nezha’s side.

Cultivation often involves shedding demonic form to attain Taoist bodies. Revealing their original forms is considered humiliating—generally a sign of desperation or submission.

For these two demons, it was clearly the latter.

Nezha put a nose ring on the old ox and a collar on the yellow dog. He’d always intended to test these two demons, and their current fate was entirely self-inflicted.

He then glanced at Yu Hua in the center of the army and said, "Yu Hua, your master and I are friends. Behave yourself."

Turning his gaze to the oily-faced Hong Jin, he recalled the young maiden from the Heavenly Court who had taken peaches with him. Without hesitation, he unleashed five Five-Colored Stones.

The Five-Colored Stones, radiating multicolored light and weighing thousands of pounds, struck Hong Jin instantly. As adversaries in opposing camps amid a great tribulation, Nezha made no effort to hold back.

Hong Jin had been on guard, activating his Water Escape technique the moment Nezha made his move. Unfortunately, the Five-Colored Stones embodied the principles of the Five Elements, striking him even in his water-transformed state.

Water splashed everywhere. Moments later, Hong Jin’s mana dissipated, leaving behind nothing but a shattered corpse.

Hong Jin’s True Spirit soared directly onto the Investiture of the Gods.

Nezha waved his hand, recalling the Five-Colored Stones, and returned to his post. Killing immortals was acceptable, but slaughtering mortal soldiers carelessly held no meaning and only invited devastating consequences.

Moreover, as his teacher was the Human Clan’s Saint Mother, Nezha himself couldn’t act in such a manner.

Returning to Daji’s chambers, King Ji seized the opportunity under the guise of concern for Nezha’s injuries, giving him a thorough "examination" and concluding that Nezha was in excellent health.

Lingering at Daji’s palace for a few days, he left behind some Witch Clan body refinement techniques and secret medicines, then headed to Deng Chanyu’s camp, where she was hunting "wild people."

When Nezha arrived, Deng Chanyu—clad in armor, draped in a fiery red cloak, and mounted on a chestnut steed—was in the midst of encircling and slaughtering a group of wild people.

The southern region was dense with jungles and suffused with poisonous miasma. While the climate was warm and humid, it was sparsely inhabited.

The primary goal of the Li and Deng families was to drive out the "wild people" lurking within the miasma.

Only after Deng Chanyu completed her siege did Nezha appear leisurely.

Upon seeing Nezha, Deng Chanyu was elated. Abandoning her Fangtian Halberd, she dashed toward him. Nezha, clearly repulsed, stepped back and said, "Keep that bloody mess away from me."

Deng Chanyu pouted, hurriedly performed a Body Purification Technique, and, seeing Nezha still dissatisfied, promptly ran off to bathe and change into clean clothes.

Nezha took his time, idly observing the tent’s furnishings while waiting. Truly, girls are the same across eras.

Even the always valiant Deng Chanyu was no exception.

After more than half a day, Deng Chanyu returned, her hair neatly combed and dressed in a tight-fitting black robe. With a leap, she clung onto Nezha.

"Nezha, where have you been lately? Why haven’t we heard from you?"

"I was cultivating in another world; couldn’t contact anyone."

"Hey, why does your skin look so good now? And you smell so nice!"

"It’s probably the effect of some rare treasure I consumed. I’ll share some with you later."

"Nezha, you’re the best."

With one arm supporting Deng Chanyu and another gesturing lightly, Nezha activated a simple array that enveloped the tent.

Outside, Deng Chanyu’s father and brother, informed of her return, sought her out, only to be stopped by her personal guards. Looking troubled, one of them said, "Sir, the princess just entered the tent with an extremely handsome young man and instructed us not to let anyone in."

The father and son immediately understood. They’d already heard news from Three Mountains Pass that Nezha had returned.

Deng Xiu, the impulsive brother, was ecstatic, eager to barge in. Deng Jiugong grabbed him with one hand and said, "Wretched fool, why not call your sister and brother-in-law out for an evening celebration?"

Old Deng proved less gentle with his son than with his daughter. He delivered a solid slap and snapped, "Idiot! Do you want to become an uncle too soon?"

Dragging the stunned Deng Xiu away, they left the scene.

The next day, although things hadn’t escalated, Deng Chanyu—satisfied—led Nezha on a tour of the camp. Nezha wasn’t particularly interested but happily accompanied her in activities she enjoyed.

After a day of leisurely wandering, Deng Xiu, still exhilarated, wanted to witness Nezha’s extraordinary drinking capacity again. Having undergone Witch Clan training, Nezha effortlessly complied, turning their relationship into "the three of us brothers" once more.

Soon after, Deng Chanyu snapped out of her indulgence and resumed expanding territory and gathering populations with Nezha by her side.

Over time, Nezha observed the current difficulties of the conquest. The first was the poisonous miasma. For someone like Nezha, who had no inherent weaknesses, this was hardly an obstacle. He easily resolved it with alchemy and talismanic water.

The second challenge was the wild people’s strong beliefs. Their faith revolved around chaotic entities—devils, demons, and such—making them hard to uproot due to their geographic advantage.

In this area, Nezha found little opportunity to intervene, leaving Deng Chanyu to handle it gradually with her army.

Nezha spent his time refining medicines, writing texts, and sketching designs. As a specialist in such matters, he excelled effortlessly.

He silently thanked his teacher again—having a skillset like this truly made one indispensable.

At night, in the tent, Deng Chanyu, dressed in tight-fitting nightclothes, struck an unusual pose, her snow-white, slender legs extended fully. "Nezha, is this posture correct?"

Busy writing, Nezha glanced up briefly. "Looks good."

This wasn’t some flirtatious game; Deng Chanyu was practicing the Witch Clan’s body refinement technique.

Daji had always resisted bodily refinement. As a delicate, sheltered young lady, the physical strain of stretching and strengthening was akin to torture. Initially, her efforts were sporadic, requiring Nezha’s "persuasive" methods to motivate her.

Compared to Daji, Deng Chanyu possessed far greater enthusiasm for these practices, having grown up on horseback.

Of course, sometimes she struck peculiar, vaguely suggestive poses, asking Nezha for corrections. As a responsible "teacher," Nezha made sure to correct her mistakes rigorously.

He couldn’t risk letting her take the wrong path.
