The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha -
Chapter 48: Tu Xingsun’s Sorrow
Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Tu Xingsun’s Sorrow
While Nezha was recruiting and secretly attempting to reclaim the underworld’s authority, Wen Zhong’s reinforcements finally arrived at the Three Mountains Pass battlefield.
The three men looked at the massive and steep city walls, completely dumbfounded. How were they supposed to attack this?
Upon arriving, Zhang Guifang refrained from being too excessive. He subtly hinted to his personal soldiers not to act too brazenly as they secretly let people defect to Li Tang during the night.
Hong Jin, Yu Hua, and Tu Xingsun were all unsavory characters—not to mention Hong Jin and Tu Xingsun, who were practically lustful devils. The very next day, upon seeing King Ji, who had come to preach, their eyes nearly popped out. In short, they were salivating.
The two almost got into a fight over it. While Yu Hua wasn’t particularly fond of women, he naturally sided with Hong Jin as a fellow member of the Jie Sect.
Hong Jin seized the chance to act first. He tidied himself up; his slicked-back hair and powdered face gave him a somewhat decent appearance.
He swaggered down to the foot of the city and struck what he thought was a dashing pose, shouting loudly, "Vice Marshal Hong Jin of Great Shang’s Crusade Against Traitors greets King Su!"
Daji, clad in royal robes, her head adorned with a jade crown and flowing tassels, looked over at Hong Jin with imposing majesty. Her first impression: greasy. Her appraisal: not worth a single hair from my Nezha.
Seeing that King Su had turned her gaze, Hong Jin puffed out his chest and continued, "Great Shang has flourished for over five hundred years, with countless capable talents and valiant men. King Su, why not surrender early? I could speak kindly of you before the Great King, and Miss Su could marry me, ensuring the safety of your entire family!"
King Su was infuriated and hurled the Red Embroidered Ball.
Hong Jin, who had earned Wen Zhong’s favor for good reason, definitely had his skills. When he saw the scarlet glow flying toward him, he cried out, "Not good!" and immediately used the Water Escape Technique to flee. While he could escape, his whale-dragon could not.
The scarlet glow flashed, instantly transforming the whale-dragon into a mess of goo. Hong Jin stared at his lifeless mount with a contorted face, his heart breaking. He had spent years overseas taming this beast, pouring in endless time and effort. It had been his ultimate weapon for showing off and picking up ladies!
"You wretch! Come down at once and accept death. Serve me as a slave and maid, and I might spare your life!"
Men are fickle creatures. Watching Tu Xingsun’s schadenfreude-filled grin, Hong Jin grew even angrier.
King Su beckoned, recalling the Red Embroidered Ball. Her mana was weak, and for now, her use of the ball was limited to that of a glorified projectile launcher. It didn’t even bother to drain what little mana she had.
As an Innate Treasure linked to the Karma Dao, its spirituality was not inferior to that of any Immortal. As a treasure embodying the source of all earthly marriages, Sister Hong (the ball) particularly enjoyed the drama of interpersonal entanglements.
Sister Hong currently found her master’s newly acquired junior disciple quite interesting. She was pleased, feeling no resentment whatsoever about being sent to protect a mere mortal unworthy of Immortality—on the contrary, it felt like front-row seating for juicy gossip.
Taking care of someone like Hong Jin was easy, but her mission was to protect Daji.
Faced with Hong Jin’s provocations, Daji showed no urgency. She cast a disdainful glance at him and ignored him entirely. Instead, she turned to Yu Hua and said, "Yu Hua, your master, One Breath Immortal Yu Yuan, shares a good personal relationship with my Prince Consort, Nezha. I advise you not to court disaster."
Hong Jin’s face twisted with rage. He let out unintelligible cries, but alas, his enemies paid him no mind. His one-man show was getting nowhere.
Yu Yuan maintained a stoic face and replied, "Public is public, and private is private. Everyone must serve their respective lord. Besides, even if my master knew of this, he would surely aid Shang in waging war against Tang!"
Daji uttered a cold "Intransigent fool" with regal poise and walked away.
That night, the troops were forced into yet another banquet. Hong Jin, seething with anger, complained: Why are there no dancing girls to enliven the mood?
Zhang Guifang, known for his rigid discipline, would obviously never allow dancers in the military camp. Unfortunately, Yu Hua, being the de facto leader, remained silent, leaving Hong Jin to monopolize the conversation. When Hong Jin demanded women, Yu Hua neither agreed nor opposed; he simply sat at the head table, drinking his wine.
Tu Xingsun, the notorious lecher, immediately chimed in. Zhang Guifang endured it for as long as he could before finally storming off in outrage.
Only then did Yu Hua speak up: "You two mustn’t go too far. Think of a way to breach the Three Mountains Pass quickly."
Tu Xingsun, sipping his wine, lazily stood and replied, "Don’t worry; it’ll be quick." He then vanished using Earth Escape, abducting five innocent women. The banquet soon resumed.
Who says the Jie Sect lacks class? It’s not like the Chan Sect doesn’t have its own share of rotten apples.
The next day, the group called for battle again. This time, Daji couldn’t even be bothered to show up. Their task was just to stall, after all.
That night, yet another banquet ensued. Hong Jin, furious about not seeing Daji that day, embraced two of the women whom Tu Xingsun had kidnapped the night before. He groped them indiscriminately and forced them to drink a large cup of wine. Laughing maniacally, he watched the helpless women squirm in misery.
Tu Xingsun, on the other hand, nestled into one woman’s arms, letting out lecherous chuckles.
Yu Hua, however, remained relatively restrained. A woman knelt beside him, occasionally refilling his drink as he grumbled, "You two had better come up with a plan. Otherwise, if Master Wen holds us accountable, none of us will escape punishment!"
Hong Jin sighed in frustration. "Marshal, the Three Mountains Pass was fortified using sorcery. They won’t come out to fight us. Even with our best abilities, we’re at a loss."
From beneath the table, where he’d been doing who-knows-what, Tu Xingsun popped up, his sleazy face gleaming. "Why not let me capture Su Daji? With a hostage in hand, the Three Mountains Pass will surrender without a fight. We can all have some fun, too."
Thinking about Daji’s unparalleled beauty and commanding queenly demeanor, his excitement left him both figuratively and literally red-faced.
Hong Jin enthusiastically slammed the table in agreement, sending one of the women serving him to an untimely death. He showed no concern, casually kicking her lifeless body aside.
Yu Hua pondered for a moment before speaking. "Fine, but don’t go too far."
Tu Xingsun grinned lecherously and vanished into the ground.
He stealthily tunneled into the Li Tang Palace.
Undercover of night, he sneaked into Daji’s chamber. "Heh heh, little beau—"
Before he could finish, the enchanted Red Silk automatically targeted him, binding him tightly. Realizing he was in trouble, Tu Xingsun tried to dive underground to escape.
Daji instantly appeared, her snow-white fingers weaving a spell formation. The pre-arranged Ground to Steel Talismans activated in an instant, wrapping Tu Xingsun up like a caterpillar. He squirmed helplessly on the ground, desperately searching for an escape into the earth.
Alas, Nezha had prepared for this long before Deng Chanyu’s arrival. He had stuffed Daji and Chanyu with as many Ground to Steel Talismans as they could carry, warning them about this creepy Tu Xingsun and his depraved Earth Escape technique.
From the moment Daji first saw this dwarf, she’d been on high alert. She’d spent the entire night laying down a massive array of Ground to Steel Talismans, making every possible preparation to trap him.
And sure enough, on the second day, the scoundrel showed up.
The bumbling Tu Xingsun furiously chanted a spell, summoning three orange-yellow ropes that coiled like spirit snakes and shot toward Daji. Daji pulled out a dazzling fan adorned with Five-colored Feathers and waved it lightly. A surge of fire instantly incinerated the Binding Immortal Rope to ashes.
This Five Fire Seven Bird Fan was a gift from Nezha to Daji for self-defense. Its top-tier feathers were personally contributed by Sister Xiaoqing.
At that moment, Su Hu, Su Quanzhong, and Lady Yin entered the scene. Su Hu and Su Quanzhong each delivered a ruthless kick to Tu Xingsun’s now "chilled" head.
Gagged by the Red Silk, Tu Xingsun found newfound "vitality," writhing and grunting incoherently on the ground.
