The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha
Chapter 254 - 253 In the Process of Divine Enthronement

Chapter 254: Chapter 253 In the Process of Divine Enthronement

No matter how winding and fraught with blood and tears the journey was, the Investiture of the Gods has finally begun.

After everyone ascended to the Sealing God Platform, Jiang Ziya shouted, "Where is Bai Jian, the guardian of the Sealing God Platform?"

"Where is Bai Jian?"

"Where is Bai Jian?"

He called three times, but Bai Jian still did not appear.

Bai Jian had already been swallowed by Shen Gongbao; there was no way he could show up now.

Realizing something was amiss, Jiang Ziya led All Immortals into the platform, only to see that the golden Investiture of the Gods list had somehow been torn at the edges and was now missing one-third of its contents!

All Immortals, upon seeing this, wore expressions of intense solemnity.

Who did this?

Whoever it was, there was no solution now. We couldn’t possibly pause to investigate while the Divine Souls on the list waited, could we?

Let the Investiture begin!

No matter who shows up today, it won’t stop the proceedings!

Old Jiang lit incense and began his prayers, initiating the formal process of Divine Enthronement.

Across the heavens and the mortal realms, the Great Experts—Kunpeng, the two Nether Rivers, and Zhen Yuanzi—breathed a sigh of relief. The scales of calamity had finally been balanced. If it had gone on any longer, their ancient forms might not have endured.

In the original timeline, the first to be enthroned was Bai Jian, guardian of the Sealing God Platform. But now, Bai Jian was nowhere to be found, so the first spot obviously had to go to someone else.

Bai Jian had originally been chosen as the first because his role was to guide the souls into their appointed positions.

Now, looking left and right, with no one else stepping forward, Nezha actively volunteered.

After all, sixty percent of those on the list could be considered his subordinates, and he knew enough about the majority of the rest to handle them. In the end, only two names among them could truly stand on equal footing with him.

A high-ranking leader personally guiding souls to their new posts—that was an honor indeed!

Nezha nodded to Old Jiang, signaling for him to begin.

Old Jiang’s first choice was none other than his old adversary, Yin Shou.

Yin Shou’s Fate Grid was exceptionally strong, with a large portion of the list aligning perfectly with him. In the original timeline, however, Old Jiang had no personal connection with Yin Shou. Years of war had made them bitter enemies, leading him to assign Yin Shou to the least significant position—the Heavenly Joy Star.

But this timeline was different. Old Jiang now immediately granted Yin Shou the most powerful Divine Position on the list—the title of Gouchen Heavenly Emperor.

Hao Tian, the Heavenly Emperor, instantly darkened in expression. One Nezha was already hard enough to handle, and now Yin Shou had joined his ranks. It seemed peace would forever elude the Heavenly Court.

Back on Kunlun Mountain, Yuanshi Tianzun also felt discontent. Jiang Ziya was, after all, his disciple from Yuxu Palace, yet he had gone straight to awarding the best position to Yin Shou. Just what was Jiang Ziya thinking?

Old Jiang appeared oblivious to the gazes directed his way. He thought to himself that he had lived a lifetime of mediocrity, begging for aid everywhere he went, relying on friends for food and lodging. But today, finally, he was the one in control.

No one could stop him!

Today, he was the protagonist of the Primordial Era!

It must be said—the trio from Great Shang’s cultivation group had managed to resonate with one another deeply on certain fundamental levels.

Nezha nodded with a smile, extending his finger. A beam of purple light shot forth from the Investiture of the Gods list, finding Yin Shou’s Divine Soul and leading it out to accept his position.

Yin Shou was in remarkably good condition. His previously damaged armor was replaced, as the surrounding Mysterious Light reshaped his form into a new divine body. Clad in the Emperor Robe, he once again resembled the peerless Human King of old.

Yin Shou casually thanked Nezha and Old Jiang with an offhand "Come drink with me sometime," before transforming into Divine Light and returning to the Gouchen Heavenly Palace in the Heavenly Court.

Seeing Yin Shou ascend stirred strong emotions in Old Jiang. Was this what it felt like to hold all the power?

A lifetime of frustration had finally culminated in triumph!

Nezha cast Old Jiang an encouraging smile.

Steadying his emotions, Old Jiang moved on to his second choice, Queen Jiang.

As the Queen Mother, Queen Jiang was impeccable in both virtue and ability. She was immediately appointed as Ganying Sui Shi Immortal, taking over the position that had belonged to the Sanxiao sisters in the original timeline.

This Divine Position was by no means inferior. It oversaw human fertility and the protection of women and children. A fertility deity’s incense offerings were always among the most plentiful in any era.

Furthermore, Queen Jiang single-handedly occupied all three positions originally held by the Sanxiao sisters.

This decision was as much about merit as it was about interpersonal relationships.

Once more, purple light flickered, and Queen Jiang’s Divine Soul began merging with the Mysterious Light, finally manifesting.

Elegant and poised, Queen Jiang nodded to Jiang Ziya before searching behind her, clearly hoping to see someone. Coming up empty, she sighed lightly and returned to her Divine Position.

Old Jiang then turned his attention to the Five Mountains Emperors: Huang Feihu, Chong Heihu, Wen Pin, Cui Ying, and Jiang Xiong—five names practically predetermined for these roles. Their origins as exceptional Innate Divine Spirits meant that joining the Heavenly Court was little more than formality.

Huang Feihu was named Eastern Taishan Heaven-Equitable Saint Great Emperor, in charge of mortal rewards and penalties, noble and common distinctions, and overseeing Netherworld affairs.

Chong Heihu was named Southern Hengshan Heaven-Revealing Saint Great Emperor, responsible for rivers, lakes, seas, and terrestrial beasts.

Wen Pin was named Central Songshan Heaven-Cherishing Saint Great Emperor, overseeing land, mountains, and forests.

Cui Ying was named Western Hua Mountain Golden Heaven Wishful Saint Great Emperor, charged with metals, smelting, and airborne creatures.

Jiang Xiong was named Northern Heng Mountain An Tianxuan Saint Great Emperor, presiding over star divisions and cosmic geography.

Nezha summoned their Divine Souls. Initially still clad in their military generals’ attire, the merger with the Mysterious Light transformed their appearances dramatically.

Nezha was especially familiar with Huang Feihu. At this moment, the figure before him as Taishan Lord felt entirely detached from the Huang Feihu he once knew. After all, for these Ancient Gods, a mortal’s decades of experiences seemed inconsequential.

Yet Huang Feihu offered Nezha a familiar smile, to which Nezha responded with a nod, thinking that the essence of who Huang Feihu was mattered more than whether he had changed.

Divine Light flashed, and the Five Mountains Emperors took their places.

With these old friends settled, Old Jiang proceeded to the Chan Sect Immortals.

The Chan Sect valued hierarchy and seniority greatly, beginning with its nominal Vice Sect Hierarch, Randeng Old Deng.

His Divine Position was Golden Dragon Ruyi Zhengyi Dragon Tiger Xuantan True Monarch—the spot occupied by Zhao Gongming in the original timeline. With Zhao Gongming and his siblings having sent Randeng to the list, it was clear the position now belonged to him.

Randeng’s subordinates remained the same as Zhao Gongming’s original team: four True Gods responsible for ushering fortune and chasing calamity:

Treasure Summoning Venerate – Xiao Sheng;

Rare Treasure Venerate – Cao Bao;

Wealth Summoning Envoy – Gao Youqian;

Profit Immortal Official – Li Xingba;

Main Pox Bixia Monarch – Yu Hualong;

Weifang Holy Mother – Madam Ma;

Madam Ma, who was Old Jiang’s wife, was given this position because of her affinity for wealth—joining the God of Wealth’s team seemed fitting. The Divine Position was significantly more dignified than her prior role as a broom star, a figure despised by mortals and gods alike.

Nezha summoned her Divine Soul.

Randeng, now manifesting his Good Corpse, appeared as a benevolent yet frail old man. Upon seeing Nezha, he displayed no anger whatsoever, as if past events had entirely dissolved.

Smiling peacefully, Randeng accepted his role.

Nezha paid extra attention to Randeng. For someone who was once a prominent guest among the 3,000 at Zixiao Palace, enduring death would arguably have been more honorable than appearing on this list alongside juniors.

Yet Randeng accepted it all cheerfully.

Nezha couldn’t help but admire his fortitude.

Randeng returned to his position, and next came True Master Yu Ding.
