The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha -
Chapter 24 Nezha’s Revenge
Chapter 24: Chapter 24 Nezha’s Revenge
Nezha’s idea was simple: destroy mountains and demolish temples.
As one of the main forces that once wreaked havoc on the Primordial world, the Dragon Clan’s thriving existence was predicated not only on their robust bloodlines but also on their allegiance to the Heavenly Court, where they relied on wages and absorbed incense offerings from the Human Clan to offset their karmic sins.
Now, treating the Human Clan as less than human while consuming their incense offerings? Dream on!
And what if the Dragon Clan refuses to work?
Well, that’s Hao Tian’s problem. Their wages don’t come out of my pocket.
The next morning court session, Yin Shou fervently recounted the events at Chentang Pass and ultimately declared that the Dragon Clan were nothing but treacherous demons. Henceforth, the Human Clan was forbidden from worshiping them.
He then ceremonially handed the Seven-star Dragon Slayer Sword to his uncle, Bi Gan, saying, "Go and tear down every Dragon King Temple!"
Bi Gan, who in the original tale burned the Fox Demon and delivered the famous line, "A king commands a minister’s death, a minister has no choice but to die," clearly showed his unwavering righteousness and loyalty.
Even after Yin Shou’s cultivation of immortality, he hadn’t done anything blatantly foolish. While he’d collected rare treasures, it counted as royal perks, not true faults. In his view, Yin Shou might not qualify as a wise king, but he scored above passing.
Now, hearing about the Dragon Clan’s actions at Chentang Pass, he felt deeply outraged.
What audacity! No evidence, yet threatening to flood an entire city to coerce the Human Clan? Why should they even offer incense!
Bi Gan stepped forward to accept the sword, took a scroll, and after court adjourned, led his people to Chentang Pass.
Nezha’s slaying of the Four Sea Dragon Kings was neither a minor nor a monumental event—some watched for entertainment, some cheered in approval.
Most spectators were indifferent, while the Phoenix Clan cheered exuberantly.
As Bi Gan and his group set out from Chaoge City, a black Xuan Niao bird appeared in the sky. A group of seven or eight individuals arrived at Chentang Pass in a blink, then left just as quickly.
Bi Gan bowed deeply toward the departing Xuan Niao, feeling invigorated, and wielded his sword as he sought out Li Jing, declaring, "Look, even the ancestors have sent help—there’s no doubt we’re standing on the right side of this!"
The black Xuan Niao flew to an anonymous Immortal Mountain and transformed into a black-robed child, addressing the Nine Heavens Xuan Nu: "Ancestor, will intervening in mortal affairs like this have consequences?"
Nine Heavens Xuan Nu, dressed in a blue palace gown, smiled faintly. "You merely escorted them out of whim since they seemed agreeable to you; how can that be called interference?"
Gesturing for the child to leave, her thoughts lingered elsewhere—a Phoenix Clan’s resolute blow against the Dragon Clan was a duty they must fulfill!
Meanwhile, Bi Gan found Li Jing and surveyed the flooded fields, his indignation growing fiercer.
Li Jing was equally resentful. He was at his wit’s end; although he had learned a few Immortal Techniques in his youth, he was still mortal. When the Four Sea Dragon Kings flooded Chentang, his only thought was to die alongside the common people. He never expected Nezha to appear.
Now the two acted efficiently, arriving at a Dragon King Temple the same day. After the incident at Chentang Pass, the temple was already deserted.
Bi Gan, an elder, first read aloud Yin Shou’s decree before raising the Dragon Slayer Sword high and striking the Dragon King’s statue.
The majestic Human Dao Qi Fortune condensed upon the royal-symbolizing Dragon Slayer Sword. With one blow, the sword’s Qi cleaved the statue in two.
Ao Jia, the East Sea’s newly appointed Dragon King, let out a howl, feeling his cultivation bottleneck—which had slightly eased upon taking office—snap shut instantly.
Bi Gan, the impeccably skilled minister, efficiently dismantled the Dragon King Temple and rebuilt it as a Nuwa Temple.
This was just the first. With tremendous zeal, Bi Gan quickly hurried to the next location.
After clearing Chentang Pass, he began targeting surrounding areas. Wherever he went, mysterious divine birds assisted, clearing away the Dragon Clan temples, whether river-bound or seabound.
The Primordial Dragon Clan truly hit rock bottom. Without incense offerings to suppress their karmic sins, their Qi Fortune took a nosedive, most evident in the bizarre proliferation of Sea Demons.
Today a demon proclaimed it devoured three dragons daily; tomorrow another declared eating three hundred.
Were they all mad?
While such claims were exaggerated, recent disappearances of numerous dragons, including juvenile ones, were undeniable.
The newly appointed Four Sea Dragon Kings suffered the most—before reaping any benefits, they were bombarded by Human Dao Qi Fortune, and karmic backlash nearly drove each to madness.
Ultimately, even the Ancestor Dragon suppressing the Sea Eye was disturbed. Consumed by surging karmic fire, he uttered but one line: "Resolve this immediately, or you can all join me in subduing the Sea Eye."
Within the Dragon Realm, various slumbering ancient dragons awoke one by one, yet no solutions emerged. These elder dragons, disconnected from the Primordial era after sleeping for countless millennia, couldn’t devise a viable plan.
The matter finally fell onto the Azure Dragon Meng Zhang Divine Monarch. As one of the Heaven and Earth Four Spirits, he was already fatigued from his eternal debt-repayment labor. Now, cleaning up for the Dragon Clan left him even more drained. Yet, with orders from his elder Ancestor, he couldn’t decline.
Chaoge Great Sage Master Mansion
"Young Master Li, don’t touch there—it tickles~"
Nezha withdrew his hand but received a teasing glare, forcing him to awkwardly place his hand back.
In his mind, Nezha thought, "Women are truly strange creatures."
Suddenly, Lady Nuwa’s voice rang in his ears: "Your destiny has arrived."
Nezha bolted upright, drenched in cold sweat.
Cautiously, he murmured inwardly, "Master, are you here?"
No response.
He posed several more questions, still receiving no reply, before finally relaxing.
His master, a Saint of such stature, surely wouldn’t waste time monitoring him idly.
Breathing a sigh of relief, he calmed down.
From the bed, Daji watched Nezha open his eyes and cautiously asked, "Nezha, what’s wrong?"
Patting Daji’s shoulder to reassure her, Nezha replied, "Something seems to be happening. I need to visit the royal palace; you should hide within the Mountain and River Map for now."
Daji nodded obediently.
Nezha tucked Daji away, briefly notifying Yu Yuan and Yun Zhongzi before heading to the palace. Watching sunny skies darken with gathering storm clouds, he roughly guessed it concerned the Dragon Clan’s aftermath.
Yin Shou welcomed Nezha’s arrival, assuming he intended to target the Dragon Clan again. Nezha cheerfully announced, "Great King, a lucrative opportunity has come!"
Thrilled by the news, Yin Shou—whose cultivation had reduced the effectiveness of elixirs—relied on rare treasures to trade with Nezha for more potent items.
The two stepped outside, witnessing the skies churn with rolling clouds. A colossal Azure Dragon spanning tens of thousands of feet appeared above Chaoge. From Nezha’s perspective, only the titan dragon’s massive head and winding body registered.
Yin Shou, although mentally strong, was startled, but quickly steeled himself, glancing at Nezha as if to say, "Teacher, you didn’t tell me the Dragon Clan had something this enormous!"
Nezha remained unfazed—an intimidation tactic, nothing more!
If Meng Zhang Divine Monarch dared to strike today, the Daoist Ancestor would likely drag every dragon-blooded being to suppress the Sea Eye by tomorrow.
Quietly stashing the Mountain and River Map beneath him for safety, Nezha stepped forward to shield Yin Shou and addressed the massive Azure Dragon: "Disciple of Lady Nuwa, Li Nezha, pays respects to the Eastern Meng Zhang Divine Monarch!"
Nezha alone stood before the towering Azure Dragon, his voice ringing across Chaoge.
