“Husband, I want to eat roast chicken.” She remembered the time when they made their first big sum of money, they had dined together at Fuman Building. That was when she first tasted the Building’s roast chicken.

Su Yunjin found it delicious.

His little wife wanted to eat roast chicken so late at night? Gu Ya frowned, “Yunniang, do you really want that?”

“Mm,” Su Yunjin nodded, her craving for roast chicken was genuine. Gu Ya stared at his little wife in silence for a moment before getting up and saying, “Yunniang, if you really want it, I will go to Fuman Building right now to buy it for you.”

The Fuman Building in town stayed open late for business, closing at 11 PM, which was in the middle of the night. It was still early before midnight now.

If he went now to buy roast chicken from Fuman Building for his little wife, there was still time. Su Yunjin did want to eat roast chicken, but it was so late that she never expected Gu Ya to go buy it for her now.

She wasn’t the type of woman to be so demanding.

Being pregnant didn’t mean she needed her man to go out and buy things for her to eat late at night. Holding onto Gu Ya’s hand, Su Yunjin stopped him, “Husband, don’t go.”

Gu Ya turned to look at his little wife, “Yunniang, don’t you want to eat roast chicken?” Without going, how would he bring the roast chicken back to his little wife?

“Husband, while I do want it, I don’t have to eat it tonight. Sit down, husband, it’s too late, let’s not buy it now,” she urged.

Su Yunjin pulled Gu Ya back, preventing him from leaving.

Gu Ya turned and lifted his little wife into bed. As Su Yunjin watched him, Gu Ya pulled back the covers and tucked her in, “Yunniang, go to sleep early. I’m going to take a quick shower.”

He kissed her on the face and then walked out. Su Yunjin didn’t think much of Gu Ya saying he was going to take a shower; it was hot and before going to bed, Gu Ya always liked to take a cool bath.

What Su Yunjin didn’t realize was that apart from the heat, Gu Ya had been taking cold showers recently also because sleeping with her every night was a test of restraint–being able to look but not touch.

Gu Ya was a man.

A normal man, with his beloved wife right beside him, it was natural for Gu Ya to have desires.
