Chapter 773: Chapter 773: Raised Too Arrogant Chapter 773: Chapter 773: Raised Too Arrogant “It’s a gift from Young Master Chu.”
It’s not like this was something worth hiding, right? Gu Ya asked, and Su Yunjin replied without a second thought. The young wife had previously done fruit wine business with Young Master Chu.
Today was their opening day, so Young Master Chu, out of courtesy and politeness, sent his congratulations with a gift. It wasn’t anything unusual, and after asking, Gu Ya didn’t concern himself with the matter anymore.
Worried that his young wife hadn’t eaten yet, Gu Ya urged her to go to the back yard for a meal. Bending over, Su Yunjin found a compartment under the counter to place the two gift boxes on top of it.
After Gu Ya urged Su Yunjin to eat and she had put away the gift boxes, she went to the back yard. Outside, Gu Ya continued with the busy work of selling wine, while Su Yunjin made her way to the kitchen.
All of today’s food had been ordered from a restaurant by Su Yunjin, and Gu Jianghai, upon seeing her enter, couldn’t stop raving about how delicious the food smelt, “Sister-in-law, the restaurant’s food really is different. It’s so delicious, my wife and I seldom get to enjoy such tasty meals.”
Today there were two extra people eating: Gu Jianghai and Mrs. Chu were not light eaters, and since her brother-in-law and his wife had helped them sell fruit wine all day, she certainly couldn’t let them go hungry for lunch, could she?
Su Yunjin ordered lots of food from the restaurant, enough to ensure there would be plenty of both dishes and rice. The table was laden with a full array of dishes, both meat and vegetables. As Gu Jianghai praised the food, Su Yunjin smiled and walked towards the kitchen.
“Brother, if you think the food is good, eat more. You and your wife worked hard helping us sell the fruit wine today. If it’s not enough, I’ll have more sent over,” she said.
Gu Jianghai waved his hands repeatedly, “Sister-in-law, there’s a whole table of food here! How could it possibly not be enough?”
Even Mrs. Chu was quick to speak up.
“It’s enough, it’s enough.” Su Yunjin had ordered plenty, and so far, Gu Jianghai and Mrs. Chu had eaten less than half, leaving more than enough on the table.
Seeing plenty of food left on the table, Su Yunjin concluded that it indeed should be sufficient. Gu Jianghai, being a hearty eater, quickly cleared the food from his bowl.
After finishing, Gu Jianghai put down his chopsticks and said he would go call Gu Ya to eat.
“Sister-in-law, I’m done eating, but third brother hasn’t eaten yet! I’m going to the front to help him and call him over.” Gu Jianghai ran out swiftly.
Mrs. Chu also said she had finished eating, “Sister-in-law, I’m full too. I’m going to help my husband. With my husband and I both looking after things, you and third brother can eat in peace.”
After Mrs. Chu and Gu Jianghai had left, soon Gu Ya came in from outside. Seeing Gu Ya, Su Yunjin got up and filled a bowl of rice for him.
With Mrs. Chu and the others watching over things and business now slowing down outside, Gu Ya wasn’t worried and returned to the back yard to have a relaxed meal with his young wife.
“Husband, are there still many people outside?”
Gu Ya sat down across from his young wife. Seeing that she had barely eaten a few bites, he raised an eyebrow and said, “Yunjin, don’t worry about what’s going on outside, just eat.”
Then she took another bite of her rice.
And went to get Gu Ya some more dishes.
“Husband, my brother and his wife both said today’s meal is delicious. Try it,” Su Yunjin said, as she picked up a piece of braised pork belly for Gu Ya, presenting it like a treasure.
After tasting it, Gu Ya looked at Su Yunjin expectantly and asked, “Husband, how is it? What do you think of the taste?” She had thought Gu Ya would say it was delicious too.
But unexpectedly, Gu Ya responded without any expression, “It’s alright.” Gu Ya actually said “it’s alright”? Su Yunjin had tasted it herself and thought it was quite nice.
Gu Ya, this man, could say “it’s alright”?
His taste was pickier than hers?
Su Yunjin murmured to herself, thinking that Gu Ya was being too fastidious for a man. But just then, Gu Ya suddenly looked at her and said something unexpected, “Yunjin, this dish is not as good as the ones you make.”
Having grown accustomed to his wife’s cooking, Gu Ya truly felt that no one else’s cooking was as good as his wife’s.
