Chapter 758: Chapter 758: Standing Up for the Injustice Chapter 758: Chapter 758: Standing Up for the Injustice “Yunjin, was it you who spread the news about the opening of the wine shop?”
Gu Yan returned and inquired of his young wife.
No one but his young wife could have spread the news, and with sparkling eyes, Su Yunjin looked at the just-returned Gu Yan, full of anticipation, “Husband, what about it? Have you heard about it outside too?”
Now the whole market was buzzing with talk of Zuixiang Restaurant’s opening the day after tomorrow, and Gu Yan had of course heard, “Yunjin, what method did you use? How did word about our shop’s opening spread all over the streets in just half a day?” Gu Yan had seen his young wife’s capabilities.
But for the market to be mostly aware of their shop’s opening still surprised Gu Yan, he even felt that he might not possess such skill himself.
As for the method used? Su Yunjin had not kept it from Gu Yan.
“Husband, I simply went to the teahouse and asked the storyteller to help promote us a bit.” There were always many people at the teahouse, and anything that started from there spread particularly fast. His young wife’s eyes were shimmering bright.
Gu Yan’s face was filled with indulgence.
Only his young wife could come up with such an idea.
Su Yunjin then inquired about the signboard, “Husband, by the way, how is the preparation for the signboard coming along?” The promotion was in place, and everybody’s appetite had been sufficiently whetted.
They were only waiting on the signboard to open for business. Su Yunjin was looking forward to the trade on the first day, after having made such thorough preparations in advance.
Su Yunjin thought gleefully that with all the preparations, even if the business wasn’t great, it wouldn’t be that bad. Now that all the busywork was done, Su Yunjin was just waiting to open the shop and collect the money.
The signboard matter had been going smoothly for Gu Yan as well; he had found a master craftsman in the market who did fine work to make the signboard. After hearing Gu Yan’s request, the craftsman told him it would take about five days to prepare the signboard, but Gu Yan said he needed it urgently and gave the craftsman an extra two taels of silver.
Upon seeing the silver, the signboard craftsman readily nodded and assured Gu Yan that he would definitely have the signboard ready before the day after tomorrow. His young wife had expressed that the signboard should be grand, with golden lettering that stood out and made of quality materials. Su Yunjin was not short of money, and the signboard was the face of the wine shop; of course, it had to be done well.
Gu Yan conveyed all of his young wife’s requirements to the craftsman without missing a single word, and the craftsman noted everything down.
Fearing he might forget, the signboard craftsman went back into his house and wrote down all the requirements Gu Yan had stated on a piece of paper. When Su Yunjin learned from Gu Yan that there was no issue with the signboard, she was delighted.
No problem was good news.
That way, there would be no delays with the shop’s opening.
The shop was about to open, and Su Yunjin was very much looking forward to it. As she kept herself busy, Su Yunjin occasionally thought of her second sister, Su Ningxiu, and planned to visit her once the current rush was over.
Wu Xinxin saw that Su Yunjin’s wine shop was bustling with activity and heard that it would open the day after tomorrow. Wu Xinxin didn’t believe that their shabby little wine shop could possibly do good business.
She let out a cold laugh.
Wu Xinxin was leisurely waiting to see the joke that would be Su Yunjin’s shop opening the day after tomorrow. Hadn’t Gu Yan said their Hongyun Building was nothing to look down upon?
Hmph!
When their little wine shop opens and there’s no business,
Gu Yan will know what regret is.
Regretting that he didn’t stay with their Hongyun Building in the beginning.
“Miss, that Gu is simply ungrateful. You were so good to him, Miss, yet he doesn’t consider you important at all,”
Wu Xinxin’s maid spoke up for her, filled with indignation.
