The Hero's Forsaken Princess
Chapter 175: My Power, My Rule

Chapter 175: My Power, My Rule

At Averion Border...

General Ravenmoor received the message from King Solomon.

[ General, do not engage with the enemy. You must not launch an attack first. Just talk to them if they are willing to negotiate. We can’t fight the dragon and other wild beasts. Many people will die on our sides. What you need to do is find out who is the beast tamer. We will fight back after eliminating the beast tamer. That person posed a great threat. ]

General Ravenmoor understood King Solomon’s command. He had to follow him.

"What else did you get? Are they going to send back-up?" he asked one of his knight commanders.

"King Solomon informed the other two generals about our situation. He also asked for help from the allied kingdoms. But reinforcement will take long before they can arrive. If possible, he wants us to buy more time and find out who was the person controlling the dragon and the pack of dire wolves."

The knight commander relayed the message he received from the king.

General Ravenmoor nodded in understanding. He darted his gaze to the opposing side. They were not making a move. The dragon and the dire wolves were just waiting for their master’s command.

’Sigh. Fortunately, they are not launching an attack. Do they really want to negotiate?’ General Ravenmoor pondered to himself.

As he was observing the enemy’s troops, his eyes caught a familiar figure.

"Wait! She looks like Princess Eve! What is she doing here?" General Ravenmoor was surprised to see Eve among the enemy troops. She mingled with them.

General Ravenmoor couldn’t believe his eyes. The princess was supposed to be imprisoned at Kingdom Zephyra. Why would they send her back here?

To find out what was happening outside the border, the general decided to talk to the leader of the Zephyra’s army.

Escorted by his commanders, General Ravenmoor opened the border gate.

"I am here to talk to your leader to negotiate!" General Ravenmoor yelled.

The dire wolves growled at them, but they didn’t attack. Meanwhile, Eve and Gideon looked in his direction.

"Shall we get closer to the gate and talk to him?" Princess Eve consulted Gideon.

"Just stay close with Zephyr. Let me deal with him. We never know if this man is trustworthy. Among the five generals, Ravenmoor is the most arrogant," Gideon replied.

He didn’t want Eve to be exposed to danger. Letting her stay by Zephyr’s side, her safety was secured.

Eve didn’t argue or protest. She obediently listened to Gideon.

"Be careful," she said, grabbing his hand before squeezing it gently.

Gideon just gave her a reassuring smile. He made his way to the border gate, inching closer and closer to General Ravenmoor.

"Are you the leader of the army? The son of the chancellor?" General Ravenmoor asked Gideon.

"Yes. I am. Are you going to surrender now?" Gideon asked him back. His voice held so much authority and power, enough to intimidate the two commanders standing next to General Ravenmoor.

General Ravenmoor pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes at Gideon’s statement. Even though King Solomon decided not to engage in a battle, he didn’t give an order about surrendering to the enemy.

"No. We are not surrendering. Our Majesty didn’t give us such a command. We are here to ask your demands and negotiate!" General Ravenmoor replied, disregarding the idea of surrendering.

"But before that, I want to know why our third princess is here. Are you going to use her to threaten the king?" General Ravenmoor asked.

Deep down, he wanted to take Eve from them and avenge his nephew’s death. He still believed that Eve was the reason why Gavin committed suicide.

Gideon remained silent. He didn’t want to disclose Eve’s role in this battle.

"She is none of your business. Your kingdom has abandoned her and her husband, Alaric," Gideon said nonchalantly.

"Let me talk to our princess! There is something I want to ask her," Ravenmoor demanded.

Gideon glared at him. He could sense that he was up to something.

"No. I won’t let her get near you," he replied with finality. "Stop making requests from us. It’s you who should listen to our demands!"

Gideon pointed his finger at the pack of dire wolves, including Zephyr.

"We have the upper hand in this battle. If you won’t give up, then get prepared to lose your lives," Gideon said, his voice carrying a serious threat.

General Ravenmoor could only grit his teeth. He had to admit that they couldn’t win against the army of dire wolves and a mighty dragon.

Before they could clash swords with the Zephyra’s nights, the majority of their warriors would perish once they fought the dire wolves and the dragon.

"What do you want?" General Ravenmoor asked. He was wondering why Gideon and his army were not yet attacking despite the advantages they had.

"Hmm. We want something simple from you and your army. Just do nothing." Gideon responded matter-of-factly.

"Just treat us invisible. Ignore our presence while we march to the capital. We will not hurt your men or the people of Averion. We just need to surround the entire palace with our five thousand knights."

General Ravenmoor’s face contorted at his ridiculous demand.

’This is like asking us to surrender! Letting the invaders enter the kingdom’s border is like surrendering to them!’ He clenched his fists.

General Ravenmoor glanced at the dragon and Eve once more. Then, a suspicion came flashing into his mind.

’Wait. Why does Princess Eve look like talking to the dragon and the dire wolves? Don’t tell me she is the beast tamer?’

General Ravenmoor shook his head in disbelief. Now, he finally understood how Eve won the royal hunt.

’Damn it! Why didn’t I realize it sooner? She tamed those animals. She is the beast tamer!’

General Ravenmoor found more reasons to kill Princess Eve.

"Is she betraying her own kingdom?" General Ravenmoor blurted out.

Gideon didn’t answer him. Feeling annoyed, General Ravenmoor faced Eve and shouted.

"Princess Eve! What are you doing? Why are you helping the enemy kingdom? Are you betraying us?"

Eve heard General Ravenmoor, but she didn’t respond right away.

"Princess Eve, do you want me to freeze everyone here? With that, we didn’t have to negotiate with that arrogant general. I promise I will turn them back to normal," Dragon Zephyr consulted her.

"I heard the conversation between Gideon and that general. The King didn’t give an order to surrender. Showing them my power will make the royal family cower in fear. This is the best way to intimidate them," the dragon added.

Eve looked around them as she contemplated for a moment. The five thousand knights with them were loyal to King Zaraki. If they entered the kingdom, she couldn’t guarantee that those knights wouldn’t attack the civilians and the opposing army.

"I’m aware that we are being watched by King Zaraki’s loyal servants. They are the ones sending reports to Kingdom Zephyra. I don’t want them to report my every move. So I decided... Zephyr... I want you to turn our knights into stones before we proceed to the palace."

"Clever plan, Princess. I will do that." Zephyr didn’t hesitate to obey her command.

After giving her instructions to Zephyr, Princess Eve responded to General Ravenmoor.

"I’m not a traitor," she said.

The moment she uttered those words, Zephyr flapped his wings and flew above them. Without any warning, Zephyr unleashed his petrification breath, aiming at the Zephyra’s army. In just a blink of an eye, everyone froze and turned into stone.

Gideon, General Ravenmoor, and the Averion knights were shocked beyond belief upon witnessing the real power of the Stone Dragon. Even Gideon didn’t expect this move from Eve.

’What is she thinking? She petrified everyone.’ Gideon facepalmed as he watched Eve.

"Holy shit! Have you seen it? The dragon attacked the entire army and turned them into stone!"

"I can’t believe this! It’s our third princess who is controlling the dragon. She saved us! She protected us!"

The Averion Knights forgot about their fears, thinking that Eve was on their side. General Ravenmoor was speechless as he didn’t expect that.

He immediately drew his sword to attack Gideon. However, before he could hit him, Aerin, the mystical fox, leaped forward, biting General Ravenmoor’s wrist. The two commanders also unsheathed their swords, but Eve yelled at them to drop their weapons.

"Stop! Don’t hurt him." Eve approached them.

"Are you really a beast tamer, Princess Eve?" General Ravenmoor asked her for confirmation.

"Yes. I am," she simply replied.

General Ravenmoor clenched his fists. He had never imagined that Princess Eve possessed this frightening power.

"Are you on our side?" he asked her again.

Princess Eve smiled meaningfully. "I’m not on anyone’s side. I follow no king, no kingdom. My power, my rule. I make my own path—and no one dictates where it leads."

General Ravenmoor was at a loss for words, stunned by the terrifying aura that radiated from Princess Eve.

’She is scary. She is no longer the weakest princess of Averion. She has changed.’
