Chapter 117: Chapter 117: Idle, Take a Walk Chapter 117: Chapter 117: Idle, Take a Walk “Brother Molian? Where is he?”
She turned around in place and didn’t see anyone, nor did she sense any trace of Ya Molian, indicating he had not returned here at all.
“Where has he run off to? Why is he missing? Could it be that he was injured and is now hiding? This man really is…”
Thinking that perhaps Ya Molian was hiding because he was injured and didn’t want her to see him, her heart tightened, and she started to head out of the inn, ready to find the man who’d rather suffer in silence.
Unfortunately, she only just reached the entrance of the inn when she saw Constable Wei hurriedly approaching.
“Miss Liu, Miss Liu.”
Seeing Lin Caisang brush past him without a backward glance, heading off in the direction of the town’s outskirts, Constable Wei turned promptly to stop her.
“Miss Liu, where are you going?”
“I…”
Lin Caisang opened her mouth but didn’t know how to respond. She couldn’t possibly say that Ya Molian was hiding somewhere and she needed to find him, could she?
She didn’t want anyone knowing that something happened to Ya Molian. Who knew how many pairs of eyes were secretly watching her, what if those people found Ya Molian before her and decided to kill him?
“Constable Wei, did you need something?”
She took a deep breath, suppressing the anxiety in her heart, and asked in as calm a voice as she could muster.
“Yes, there is a matter. Miss Liu, you gave me a prescription yesterday. I had it brewed and administered to the sick in town. Although it’s not very effective for those with severe conditions, it has shown promising signs in those with milder ones.”
“Oh, then continue using the medicine,” Lin Caisang said, preparing to leave.
“Miss Liu, do you have matters to attend to? I could help you with them.” Constable Wei saw her hurried demeanor and stopped her again to ask.
“I’m just going for a leisurely stroll.”
Lin Caisang replied, thought for a while, then handed out the freshly concocted ‘Fearless’ elixir pills she had just created to Constable Wei, reminding him of her instructions.
“Constable Wei, if yesterday’s prescription was effective, then distribute these pills to those with severe conditions in town. I’ll concoct more soon, and give them to you when they’re ready.”
Having said that, she thrust a box of elixir pills into Constable Wei’s arms and decisively walked away.
Constable Wei: “…..”
Miss Liu, are you sure you’re ‘just taking leisurely stroll’ right now?
Lin Caisang: I’m just ‘out for a stroll’, what of it?
…
At the main gate of Hongling Town, a chubby young woman looked up—and up again—at the wall that stood three times higher than her stature.
“Why do walls exist in this world? This is just a town, not a commandery, why is it guarded like it’s against thieves? Is this even necessary?” She folded her arms across her stout waist, grumbling and fuming.
Climb the wall? That damn tall wall, even if she had remarkable ability to scale it, by the time she got over it, she’d probably snap her barrel-shaped waist!
“Ya Molian, you damn trickster. After getting injured why wouldn’t you lie down and wait for me to save you? Instead, you ran off and hid somewhere, seemingly intent on driving me crazy.”
However, is there any use in blaming Ya Molian anymore? Of course, there isn’t.
“I better think of a solution…”
Maybe she could find a ladder to reach the top of the wall. But where would she find a ladder?
She glanced around and circled the wall for quite a distance and, to her surprise, Lin Caisang found a ladder. She leaned it against the wall, and it was just tall enough to reach the top.
“Could this be left by the sick trying to escape?”
