Chapter 97: Chapter 97- The Jeagal Clan Makes The First Move
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
Strong gales of this disciple’s sword swept out as he attacked Sol.
However, Sol shifted his posture each time to dodge his sword strikes, all while his face showed a relaxed expression.
This seem to irritate the disciple and the aura around him suddenly erupted.
A Sword Innate Dharma with the attribute of wind materialized above his head. Then as he swung down his sword at Sol, the Sword Innate Dharma overlapped with the sword in his hand.
The power of his strike increased severalfold.
This wasn’t an attack used for sparring matches, this attack was made to kill your opponents.
"DIE!!"
The disciple yelled as his sword swung down to sever Sol in half.
Sol stared at the sword approaching him. The sharp winds that wrapped around it flapped his robes and hair uncontrollably. But despite the terrifying attack approaching him, Sol still wore that calm expression.
SWOOSH!
BANG!
The disciple’s sword slashed through the air before hitting the stage and leaving a long sword mark on it.
His sword had merely passed through Sol; he had missed.
Sol’s figure appeared next to the disciple and his palm twisted at a strange angle to hit the disciple’s chest, despite the disciple trying to block his attack.
This disciple coughed up blood on impact before being thrown off the stage.
When he landed it could be seen that the palm strike almost crippled him, luckily the strength of the palm was precisely controlled to only go so far.
The other disciples in the crowd erupted into loud cheers.
"That’s it! With this win, Brother Sol is officially in the top-rankings of the Earth Arena!"
"No one has ever climbed the rankings this fast before, am I dreaming?"
"Is it really a surprise that Brother Sol is climbing the rankings this fast after his battle with Brother Byeong-Ho?"
"That’s true..."
On the stage, Sol took out his Disciple Token and checked his rank.
"Earth Arena, Rank 42nd."
’I thought I could reach the Sky Arena before I have to leave for the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension. But I’m way off from my prediction.’
Sol put away his Disciple Token and went to leave the stage.
"Ho? Are you leaving already?"
Sol paused and turned around to look at Geon-Soo sitting in the stands.
"If I stay, are you just going to send more weaklings to lose and humiliate your Wudang Sect further?"
Geon-Soo smiled and nodded repeatedly as he said.
"You’re right, the past ones I sent are a bit lackluster. But don’t worry, the disciples of my Wudang Sect in the Earth Arena might not be comparable to Byeong-Ho, but you’ll find it hard to be so casual."
Truly, if one had merely listened to these two converse without context, it would sound like two old friends chatting.
However, it was far more scandalous than that and the disciples in the surroundings were eating it up.
Usually, this sort of situation would never happen in the Academy.
Someone like Geon-Soo who was rumored to be an illegitimate child of the Wudang Patriarch, would never openly scheme to kill a talented disciple from the Huashan Sect or any of the other Sects or Clans.
However, it was known that Sol was not from any of those Factions, though rumors were saying he was the second disciple of the Third Grand Elder, Byeong-Ho’s Master.
But here it was, happening in real-time.
Never had two people with this much behind their name feud so openly in the Martial Alliance Academy.
Practically every disciple was aware of Sol and Geon-Soo’s conflict whether they follow it up or not.
Though with this much spotlight on their conflict, questions began to pop up as to what caused it in the first place.
Sol didn’t respond to Geon-Soo and only turned to leap off the stage.
Mar-Dule who was waiting for him walked next to him as they left the Martial Hall.
"You know what he’s doing right?"
Mar-Dule asked Sol after a while.
Sol nodded.
"Even though he knows the people he sends can’t harm me, he’s still doing it. I know he’s only sending them to sow hatred between me and the entire Wudang Sect."
"And aren’t you at least a bit hesitant to continue with this feud? This is one of the Six Holy Sects we’re talking about. And worse, you’re even using their Martial Arts Technique to defeat their disciples."
Sol didn’t immediately respond.
He realized that Mar-Dule was the cautious type despite his violent nature. But Sol figured this was a trait someone who was going to lead an entire Race would have.
But Sol wasn’t the same, he didn’t need to have any reservations when he was dealing with people like Geon-Soo.
He didn’t have a family he needs to worry about, nor was he from any backing that might suffer from offending the Wudang Sect.
He didn’t need to lower his head to avoid conflict.
However, as much as this was an advantage, it was a massive disadvantage as well.
Geon-Soo had the Wudang Sect.
Even though he might not be in a position to use his standing to do more than send people to challenge him in the Martial Hall, it was still risky to get into conflict with him.
But Sol wasn’t worried.
Turning to Mar-Dule, Sol said.
"No worries Brother Mar-Dule, I’m not stupid enough to run headfirst into a situation that’s disadvantageous for me. I know my limits on what I can handle, and right now I have no problems handling Geon-Soo. You should be more worried about me catching up to you in the top-rankings of the Earth Arena."
Mar-Dule heard this and had to look at Sol twice.
If someone else showed so much confidence when going up against the Wudang Sect, he would think they were an ignorant fool. But since it was Sol that was saying it, he couldn’t help but feel that Sol was seeing something he couldn’t.
As the two walked through the Central Mountain, they went to the Culinary Pavilion venue to buy food before separating.
Sol was now alone.
He held several dakkochi in his right hand while feeding Little Zeel on his head with the other.
’It should be about time I-’
Sol’s thoughts were suddenly interrupted as someone stepped in front of him.
"Brother Sol, I am here on my Young Master’s orders to invite you to the Jeagal Clan Pavilion."
Sol paused, then said.
"I’ll be there in a few minutes. I have a few errands to run first."
This disciple dressed in green and white checkers robes, frown at Sol but he only said.
"I’ll inform the Young Master."
Then he left.
Sol slid a piece of meat into his mouth as he thought.
’So the Jeagal Clan is the first to make a move. I had suspected the Namgung to move first, but I guess the Jeagal Clan makes more sense.’
Sol hummed a tone as he ate and walked to the Teleportation Hall.
However, on his way, he took several odd turns and even backtracked a few times.
This went on for several minutes before Sol turned one corner and suddenly vanished.
Sometime later, three red robe figures appeared where he vanished.
"Damn it, he disappeared again."
"Where is he going when he does this?"
"Who knows, but we have to find out his every movem in the Academy."
"Are we really planning on killing him inside the Academy?"
"That’s up to the Young Master to decide, he hasn’t given the order yet so we just have to wait."
After their conversation, they scattered to search for Sol.
At a nearby corner, Sol casually walked out and continue towards the Teleportation Hall.
Even when he teleported from the Central Mountain to the General Library Mountain, these three disciples were still searching for him.
