Chapter 376: Chapter 376- Starting To Get Extremely Bored
In this seemingly borderless desolate world, a gray sun hung overhead.
Floating in the air was a two-hundred-meter inverted torch that seemed incorporeal and corporeal at the same time. Surrounding its staff were carvings of what looked like numerous souls that were burning in hellfire. If one listened closely, they might even be able to hear the ghastly screams of these souls.
This sacred torch of unknown origins sent out violent and terrifying ripples in the void.
It was lit with vigorous black flames that sent a dark glow, which added to the gloominess of this bleak world.
This dark glow cascaded over the strange youth who was floating below the sacred torch.
His expression was cold and indifferent as he unblinkingly stared at the ground below.
On the ground, an army of undead skeletons numbering in the thousands were seen. Some of them were humanoid skeletons that wielded weapons, while others were skeletons of beasts.
Every one of these undead skeletons had black Death Energy surrounding them, and if one were to go by the Eastern Continent’s cultivation system, the weakest of them was a First-tier Martial Artist while the strongest was a Spiritual Realm cultivator.
With the strength of this army of undead skeletons, they might be able to overthrow a third-rate Sect or Clan, and possibly plunge a second-rate into mild panic.
This type of strength held by Cian would make him one of, if not the strongest person in this generation.
However, currently amidst this army of undead skeletons, a golden light was streaking through them with absurd speed.
Everywhere this golden light went it would obliterate large portions of the low-level skeletons, numbering in the hundreds.
As time passed, the undead army lost over half of their forces. This streak of golden light seemed invincible, with absolutely nothing able to stop its terrifying momentum.
However, after the casualties of the undead army reached this point, the black flames of the sacred torch swayed. The undead skeletons that were destroyed by this streak of golden light seeped into the ground before being nourished by the gray soil. After forming once again they would crawl out of the ground and continue attacking the streak of golden light.
Their strengths remained the same, however, as long as this sacred torch was above this battlefield, this army would continue to revive. It was truly an undead army in every sense of the word.
Sol came to a stop in the middle of the undead army and watched as the skeletons he destroyed crawled out of the ground once again.
Tch!
Sol clicked his tongue.
"How detestable, with an army like this that bastard wouldn’t even need to make a move. And with his Domain’s ability to block out any and all kinds of energy, as well as its constant suppressive force, even a peak Sky Expanse Realm cultivator would be exhausted to death before being slaughtered by this undead army. This is even more so if they don’t have a Domain."
Sol couldn’t help but click his tongue for a second time. He wondered when he would be able to get his Domain to size and gain some new abilities.
ROAR!!!
Suddenly, a terrifying beast roar echoed out some distance away.
Sol turned to look in that direction to see an undead skeleton that looked like a lizard. It was twenty meters long and looked like a miniature mountain.
The Death Energy surrounding it rolled across its body and sent out powerful ripples in the surroundings.
As it lifted its head to the sky and roared, its Death Energy burst out and instantly crushed the weaker skeletons around it.
This was one of the four skeletons that had reached the Sky Expanse Realm.
It had been an incense stick’s worth of time since Sol started fighting this army.
Unlike living beings, these undead creatures barely had any intelligence and were simple-minded. And despite being in the Sky Expanse Realm they didn’t have any powerful abilities or Techniques to utilize that strength. Their only method of attack was a simple swing of their sword and claws.
For this lizard, its only attack was a vertical slash of its claws.
"What are you roaring so loudly for? You think if you scream insistently, I’ll come fight you?"
Sol said annoyed as he hefted his large golden bow.
Sol had indeed tried to fight the four Sky Expanse Realm undead creatures; however, he almost lost a leg and an arm in the process.
After that, he decided to fight these undead beasts separately.
Sol knocked back his bow and a heavenly arrow quickly formed between it from his Fist Intent.
With a ’weng’ the arrow was released, and it pierced the void with a loud screech, destroying numerous low-level undead skeletons as it appeared in front of the lizard.
The Death Energy swirling in the lizard’s eyes blazed even greater as if it was enraged. It leaped forward and slashed vertically at the arrow with its large claws glowing with Death Energy.
With a loud bang that sent out a massive shock, the lizard had successfully destroyed the arrow. However, another arrow suddenly appeared in front of it.
The lizard released an unwilling roar as the golden arrow pierced its forehead and destroyed its entire upper body.
This was how Sol had been dealing with these Sky Expanse undead creatures for some time now.
With a loud thud, the body of the lizard landed on the ground crushing a few of the low-level skeletons.
However, the black flame of the sacred torch swayed, and the lower half of the lizard’s body and its fragmented upper half entered the ground before emerging together completely intact.
Sol was expressionless as he watched this happen, but his eyes flickered as he looked at the Death Energy surrounding the skeleton. He then glanced toward the black flames spouting from the sacred torch.
Suddenly, a small appeared at the corner of his lips.
Sol had been analyzing this army and that torch all this time. With that arrow, he finally confirmed some of his speculations.
However, the ground below his feet suddenly burst open and a broken broadsword was aimed at his throat.
"This again?!"
Sol said exasperated and immediately sent out a palm strike toward the broadsword. However, two more humanoid undead skeletons suddenly sprung from out of the ground around him.
Their swords were broken, but after being reinforced by their Death Energy and strength, these swords could cleave Sol in three.
Sol frowned but he didn’t panic. These Sky Expanse undead creatures had tried the same thing when he had first battled them together. That was how he had almost lost an arm and leg.
This time, Sol wasn’t so eager to jump into danger. After he swatted the broadsword away with his palm, he stomped on the ground and flew into the air dodging the two swords from the other undead creatures.
Sol continued flying upward and a few tens of meters in the air before looking down at the army.
This was actually the first time he used his ability to fly since the battle started.
With a curious expression, he watched as only the Sky Expanse Realm undead creatures flew into the air after him.
This was as he expected.
As for why he didn’t do this before instead of fighting against that undead army... well, that wouldn’t be fun would it?
However, he was now starting to get extremely bored.
Sol glanced at Cian who was on the other side of the battlefield. There were around three to four hundred meters between them.
When Sol looked at Cian, he saw that he still had his eyes on him. It looked like he hadn’t taken his eyes off of him until now.
’Still not planning on getting involved?’
Sol thought to himself before he snickered and said.
"Fine, then I’ll just destroy your undead army for good. I want to see what other abilities you have."
